Tonight was my birthday celebration, and in true married couple fashion I started it with arguing with my husband! literally we pulled up and I was grumpy, but the minute Chef Rashaad came out to greet us... I was SOOO over it. We came up and found his palette grown garden. I personally love this, coming from Austin Texas, and then he was so excited to meet us! I was greeted with fun music and a space that is so intimate and fun. I couldn't help but smile. Chef proceeded to cook us a 4 course meal, we had a great time chatting and just enjoyed our company. The night proceeded with fabulous wine, and tons of laughs. If you are looking for a night to change up the routine and have some laughs... WOW this is exactly what you need. With girlfriends, boyfriend, husbands or moms... this was such a blast!

This was a surprise from my boyfriend that travels for work. We had so much fun! Is has a PG13 sense of humor but it's refreshing to see someone who can be their self and do something they love. We picked a group class because we thought it would be a better experience, and it was definitely awesome! If you want a fresh kind of date night I would 100% go here.

We came here for my wife's birthday and did the private dining demonstration, it was phenomenal! Chef Rashaad was entertaining, educational, and extremely creative. The atmosphere was cozy and eclectic. This was an amazing experience and an incredible value. I would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a unique and memorable experience!

Ever since Publix Aprons Cooking School closed, I've been looking for a cooking school that has fun adult classes. The Kitchen House has just started a monthly "book club" called Plot to Plate where they feature a book that relates to or includes recipes. This month was Lessons in Chemistry so my friends and I decided to attend. We bought our tickets in advance as classes can sell out. The classes are different prices depending on what the class is. The house is in a residential neighborhood in College Park and does not have a dedicated parking lot so I would suggest getting there early as you have to find a spot along the street. When we arrived, we were greeted and given a welcome drink, in this case Cardamom Decaf Coffee because it was cold out. One of the instructors said that normally we would walk the garden at the beginning of class and also eat outdoors but since it was cold, we were going to skip the garden and eat inside. Once everyone arrived (cooking classes can have up to 20 people), we met in the lobby to start talking about different themes of the book. Then it was time to wash up and go to the kitchen. All the ingredients were set out for us and we picked the Veggie Pot Pie table with other attendees. The instructor gave us some knife skills lessons and then we all started cooking, using the recipes at our station. Each station makes one recipe so you don't get to make everything. And, the instructors and volunteers don't show you how to make everything first (like Publix Aprons used to do). But, if you just dig in and start going, it is a lot of fun. We had some questions along the way, like is there a spatula we can use? Or, is this the flour or the cornstarch? The volunteers were great and answered everything in a friendly way. As it said you could do in the welcome email we received before the class, some folks brought their own wine and the Kitchen House provided glasses and would pour for you. I think if we go back, we would definitely bring our own wine. My friends and I made the drop biscuits for the Veggie Pot Pie, which were surprisingly easy to make. We were finished early so we also make the Brownies for dessert that used olive oil and maple syrup instead of butter and sugar. When everyone was done cooking, we gathered in the lobby again while the volunteers cleaned and set up the table for dinner. Then, it was time to eat! Dinner was served buffet style and the Kitchen House split our food for people who had different dietary restrictions. For example, some of the recipes used non-dairy alternatives as some people in the class were lactose intolerant and one person had a mushroom allergy so they got a small spinach gallette instead of the mushroom Gallette for everyone else. As we sat down to eat, we discussed the book more in depth. Everything tasted great and we had a wonderful time. We received all the recipes in an email after the class so we could make the foods at home. I will definitely be looking at other adult classes here.

I went with my classmates for medical school and we made 2 different types of spaghetti- one had meat (very good, picture 1) and the other was vegetarian (wasn't terrible, picture 2). While Chef Mark was a pleasant and personable individual, this was absolutely not a cooking class…read more-- it was a demonstration at best. The "class" was held in the middle of a busy pub where music was playing, customers were talking and laughing, and people were actively playing darts and pool. There was no microphone, so we could barely hear the instructor. Calling this a class under those conditions is completely misleading. We were expected to roll dough on small high-top pub tables, which was impractical and uncomfortable. Due to the setup, we couldn't even clearly see the sauce being made. There was no structured, hands-on instruction -- just trying to catch bits and pieces of what was happening in a loud bar environment. To make matters worse, the finished pasta was served in a small Styrofoam bowl with a plastic fork -- not even a napkin provided. The dish itself was bland and underwhelming. This experience was given as a gift, which makes it even more embarrassing. It felt disorganized, misleading and like a complete waste of money. A cooking class should be interactive, educational and conducted in an environment where participants can actually hear and learn -- not in the middle of a noisy pub during business hours. Extremely disappointing. Not at all what we expected. Update: Received no direct message

An egg or two. Some oil. (was supposed to be salt too, but the instructor forgot that) Instructions:   Make a well in the flour and mix in the egg and oil as needed.   Flatten it out and make whatever shape you want.    Whoops:  just revealed all the secrets and techniques of the class.   Of the dozen or so people there, not sure anyone made anything remotely edible.   Half the people didn't even attempt to boil their lumps of flattened flour.    But if they did, there was some jarred sauce and kraft shredded cheese to have with it.   (Ad mentioned making a sauce. I didn't even get to open the jar!) I really just don't even know what to make of this "class."    I put class in quotes as it was held in a bar with no cooking utensils, no recipe, no real instruction. I guess think of it as a spam phone call.  Sure, when you get that call you can buy an extended warranty, but would you?   There are some good cooking classes available in Orlando.   This is not one of them.
