We enjoyed a very nice Christmas Eve dinner at Mickey's last night. We brought our own wine and they were happy to pour for us. We shared a local shrimp sampler and then both had rare filet mignon steaks, mine with a peppercorn sauce and Marianne with roasted garlic and rosemary. Finished with a shared creme brûlée. great service, good drinks. I just thought the food was average. had the chili relanos which had great flavor, but were cold. Wife had a shrimp dish which was very good as leftovers the next day. Had a little family dispute going on, so I'll come back at a more relaxing time. Our family that goes to Puerto Penasco regularly thinks this is the best place in town. read more

No complaints here at all! The ambiance was perfect and the service was amazing. We were treated so well. The food came out fast and it was just more than amazing! I got the Tarragon Salmon Salad and my fiancé got the steak. Both were super delicious!! After we got the creme brûlée. Also perfection. What a wonderful meal we had tonight! Everything here was just right...a little ambience, delicious food, and friendly, attentive service. My husband and I both had filet mignon that was melt in your mouth tender and perfectly cooked. We had the Filet Au Poirve and Rosemary Garlic filet (which I thought was the better of the two). Chef Mickey's Place is our favorite restaurant in Rocky Point! Food taste and quality is off the charts good! Chef Mickey is friendly and gets to know you by name! Coconut shrimp and any dish with green chillies is amazing! Finish with the coconut rum flan and you won't be disappointed! Had been wanting to try Mickey's Place since our last visit and I'm so glad we finally got around to it! Look for the "Chef" verbiage on the sign out front, that sticks out the most! Bring cash! Didn't even notice the "cash only" sign on the door, but was planning on using cash anyway so no big deal. We arrived at about 6pm tonight Tuesday, June 27, and were the only ones in the restaurant which is fine by me! Miguel greeted us at the door and as I read in someone else's review he was absolutely wonderful and attentive as was the assistant server. Decided to start with stuffed mushrooms, so delicious and fresh, they are stuffed with almost like a crab salad with a nice crunch from bell peppers! The flounder was not available as someone else had mentioned. My family and I each tried: stuffed shrimp, shrimp & mac, and I had the shrimp diablo linguini marinara. Everything was delish! I honestly liked the shrimp & Mac the best, and then the stuffed shrimp, and then my pasta. There was nothing wrong with mine at all, I just enjoyed the flavors of the other dishes more. We were too stuffed for dessert unfortunately, but we will be back! Chef Mickey even came out to make sure we enjoyed everything, I love that! read more

Mickey's is a unique gem that escapes from the usual "Rocky Point" fare. My wife had the Tarragon Salmon salad, which she is just now reminding me she really liked. I and another guest had the Chicken Picatta with rice. Another guest had the Steak Au Poivre which he enjoyed. The setting is "fancy" for being in RP - we were a bit underdressed in our shorts and t-shirts, but it wasn't a problem. Quite good by Rocky Point standards! A refreshing diversion from the usual fried food and street tacos most places are peddling. read more

Had a wonderful birthday dinner with hubby and dear friends. We had some chicken mole Oaxaca style, flounder in garlic butter and one with thyme butter, and filet steak. For appetizer we had the shrimp with dates and Gorgonzola cheese in this awesome sauce that we dipped our bread into which was also fabulous. We had a glass of Pinot Grigio that was also great. Sweet waitress named Stephanie was great and sang me happy bday. Takes cash only but prices are comparable for the good food, service, and ambiance. read more

We visit this restaurant when ever I am in Rocky Point - not only for the great food, but for Miguel's excellent service! I've been here dozens of times and I always order the same entree. :) It starts of with fresh bread and love oil. I have to sometimes stop myself from indulging in too much bread! It's soooo good! A light salad follows and it's the perfect size to follow a large meal. The steak Gorgonzola is absolutely amazing! The cheese sauce is delish! To top it off, I order the bananas foster dessert. The best bananas foster I've EVER had! This is one of the best places in town to have an incredible meal! read more

Literally just got back from dinner here and had to write, even though stuffed and ready to pass out in a food coma. The other reviews are on point; the service was great and chef even came out to chat and discuss the method of his brilliance a bit. We started with ceviche which isn't on menu but is my husbands favorite and chef made one based on flounder. It came out in a huge portion served with avocado, mayo and tortilla chips/saltines. On their rec, we ate the ceviche on the mayo-slathered chips topped with a squirt of hot sauce. Oh. My. God. So good. We had the Carlos the 5th (read: bacon-wrapped) shrimp and chicken mole, both of which were fantastic. Finished off with the coconut flan, also fantastic, with 2 glasses Pinot Grigio and a Cesar salad for $82. What? Yes, $82. Seriously, if you could even get a similar meal in Phoenix, which you can't, you'd spend well over $100 easy. We are going back tomorrow, and maybe the next night. We were very excited to try this place. We've heard a lot about it and Yelp reviews were positive. Tucked in the back of a plaza is a quaint sign letting you know you've arrived. The small area to be greeted at was right next to a large table of people already dining. We were shown our table so were weren't standing there long, it was a little awkward. The menu was sticky to the touch and needed a good wiped down. The menu offered a lot of choices but seemed repetitive as most of the appetizers were smaller versions of the entrees. All in all the food was good and it was a nice change of pace to the abundance of local food. We were slightly disappointed the shrimp for our shrimp appetizer was breaded. Heavy breaking. It distracted from the flavor of the shrimp and the delicious sauces that came with each shrimp. As we dinned the place got busier and the service slowed. We did have the creme brûlée which was delish! We will come back but next time make sure what we are dining on is not also what we are having for appetizers! read more

It took me a few years to get here but we finally made it and I'm so glad we did! What a wonderful meal we had last night!! Upon entering we were greeted and given the chance to decide if we wanted to sit at the high top able or regular table. On a busy night, we were greeted promptly by our server and Chef Mickey, our drink order was taken and served very quickly. Tasty French bread and olive oil was brought to our table while we were told about the nights dinner specials. Our server Stephanie was very pleasant and efficient. We started our meal with the Award winning Date and Shrimp Appetizer. The portion is generous and the sauce is deicious the perfect combination of sweet and savory. Our salads were fresh and crisp. My husband had the gargozola shrimp and chicken linguine and I had stuffed shrimp. Both dishes were vey good and I would recommend both! Chef Mickeys Place serves delicious food, beautifully presented. Great place for a casual dinner or a special occasion. Try it, you'll love it! read more

Chef Mickeys is about as good as it gets. Its the best kept secret of this little fishing village in Mexico. The food is always fresh, the dishes are unique and tasteful and the presentation is just as good. The Chef has won awards for his appetizer shrimp with dates and blue cheese sauce, sounds different but the taste is a culinary experience! The atmosphere is modern and inviting and they have a full service bar and nice wine selection. The services was very good. It will be our go to restaurants in this area. The décor is nice with white table cloths and an intimate setting. Its a must "try" while visiting. Its off of Fremont ave in Plaza del Sol 4. It is a place not to be missed! read more
