They catered a dinner for us last year. It was terrific. We had another event coming up and tried messaging via their website and left a phone message. No reply. Since publishing this one-star review, Chef Dora contacted me to resolve my dissatisfaction and did just that. She was fully accountable for not responding to my inquiries rather than offer a boatload of excuses. Given how wonderful the meal worked out the first time we used her services, I don't want to scare other potential clients away. That's why I upgraded my experience to a three-star rating. read more

My friend and childhood neighbor owner of Friends Of The Vine Store in Redondo Beach CA passed away. He had 1500 people show up to his memorial. Chef Dora and her team took care of the food for all the people. Chef Dora and team created a variety of sandwiches and salads. All were fresh, and helpful for the grieving. There was plentiful and never ran out. Even some of the bread were made from scratch. read more

Exceptional Food, Beautiful Presentation & Outstanding Service! We are so happy and grateful that Chef Dora Presents catered the wedding shower for our daughter and her fiancé. Chef Dora and her team exceeded our expectations in so many ways. Chef Dora, the owner, was personally involved throughout the menu-planning process. She created a special customized Asian inspired menu, incorporating our favorite dishes. She also made adjustments to accommodate food allergies and dietary needs. They even traveled outside their usual service area to cater our event. We truly appreciated her personal attention and commitment. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented! Our guests raved about the food and service. A special shout-out to Di, the event captain, who was exceptional. She was professional, attentive, and took care of the details. She checked in with me throughout the event and encouraged me to relax and enjoy the celebration with our guests. As the mother of the bride, that meant so much to me! Chef Dora and her team didn't just cater our event, they helped make it a truly memorable celebration. If you are looking for delicious food, beautiful presentations, personalized attention, and exceptional friendly service from start to finish, then I would highly recommend Chef Dora and her team for any celebration, large or small. They truly go the extra mile--literally! read more

Chef Dora is the BEST. So fun, creative and professional. She planned the perfect menu for our Star Wars party, and her crew from the cooks to the servers helped prepare and deliver top tier food for the guests. All of the food was delicious, but my favorites were the appetizers. This is where the guests were won over. I highly recommend the grilled cheese and tomato shooter, salmon poke on crispy rice, pork dumplings (my personal favorite) and the Brie puffs with jam. My 10 year old daughter is very picky and only eats 10 things and even she loved the Brie puffs. That's how good this food was. The grilled kabobs, rice and vegetables were also great, but those pork dumplings had my heart. Thank you to Chef Dora and crew for making this party a success! It was very memorable. read more

The food was great! Normally wedding food is pretty forgettable, but we loved both the meal options we picked for our reception. We loved being able to theme the food to our venue. We had multiple people tell us after the wedding how much they enjoyed their main meals! And on top of that, the custom beignet bar offered was a huge hit among our guests. read more

Chef Dora and her team not only provide a top tier experience with professionalism, creativity, and presentation but are so friendly. We had a make your own pasta station for my cousin's bridal shower that was Italian themed. You got to pick your own noodle, sauce, toppings, and the portions were huge! Everyone loved it. They made my cousin's day so special. read more

Chef Dora Presents was fantastic to work with for our event. We needed catering for a bat mitzvah with about 135 to 150 guests, and we had some very specific requirements. Everything had to be dairy free and gluten free, and because our daughter has severe Celiac Disease, it was critical that extra care was taken during food preparation to avoid any cross-contamination (just try to find a caterer that will agree to that...not so easy!!) On top of that, they were very attentive to guests with additional needs, including allergies, kosher preferences, and vegetarian options. We had a buffet set up for the kids and a plated dinner for the adults, which worked out really well. Chef Dora and Stuart were both great to work with. We connected with them months ahead of the event, met multiple times to plan, and also had a private tasting, which helped us feel confident in our choices. They were extremely professional throughout the process. During the event itself, both of them were present and even helped with small coordination items that came up, which we really appreciated since we did not have a day-of coordinator. The food itself was excellent. Sometimes gluten free food can be hit or miss, but that was not the case here at all. Everything was flavorful and well prepared. Some standout dishes for us were the kalbi beef tacos as an appetizer and the turmeric chicken with lime rice and vegetables. Both were incredibly good, and we were happy to have leftovers to enjoy afterward. We would absolutely recommend Chef Dora Presents and would gladly use them again in the future. read more

Dora and her team did a fabulous job. Their team is professional, the food delicious and beautifully presented, and the staff is pleasant and helpful. They made this a very easy day for me. Not sure if this is everyone's experience, but after our wedding, on our first day as a newly wed she sends us a 10% extra invoice itemizing work that was already to be included in the original contract. One of her team vans also broke down on the facilities where the wedding was had, adding us a late fee of $500, yet despite that she sends an extra invoice. She also didn't communicate a few items to her team, never provided coffee when she was supposed to, and she had a particularly unfriendly female worker on her team that almost made my fiancé cry. Food was good, but post-wedding invoicing and one bad team member ruined the experience. read more

Gorgeous presentation, terrific customer service, delicious food! From start to finish our experience with Chef Dora Presents was terrific. We hosted an engagement party for 40 in our home. Chef Dora came out to do a pre-event walk through and answer questions. We figured out the event layout and appreciated her recommendations! When they arrived on the party day they quickly went to work making there magic happen. The food tables were presented beautifully with flowers, lanterns and candles. The bartender created beautiful cocktails with fresh garnishes. Dinner was delicious and the servers serviced the tables removing dirty dishes and refilling glasses. At the end of the party the kitchen and their work space was spotless. I truly felt like a guest at my own party read more

Oh, my goodness! I wish I had taken pictures. One of my guests did, but these do not at all represent how AMAZING Chef Dora and her team were. I am literally in love with these people. The food was amazing. The setup was amazing. The service was amazing. You would not have even known they were there; yet we had literally everything we needed when we needed it. Of course, the food was beyond delicious. Trust me, we were a group of well-traveled and highly spoiled people and literally everyone loved everything that Chef Dora served. The best part was she communicated so well and literally did every single thing she promised and more. She makes me want to start planning more and more events. It was so easy with CHEF DORA!! Where to begin?! First and foremost, Chef Dora is such an amazing person. From the very beginning she was personable and made us feel so comfortable. The thought of planning an 18th Birthday for my daughter was a very stressful process for my wife and I and Chef Dora took away MOST of our stress. Chef and her outstanding staff made our event so much more pleasurable especially throughout our event. Now to the food! Wow! Just Wow! On top of all that the food was amazing and delicious! Chef was spot on! We had roast beef, salmon and a LECHON (whole roasted pig) and EVERYONE loved it and we received so many compliments! From appetizers to desert was just as incredible. Any way, 5 stars all around! Having Chef Dora and her staff was an amazing experience and I'm sure it won't be our last! Many many thanks Chef! read more

I was just at an in home holiday event catered by Chef Dora. I would like to say Speechless would be enough of a descriptor for my experience, but that would leave too much open to interpretation. So I will express my experience with a numbered list to make my thoughts clear. 1. Presentation: Impeccable, beautiful, as up scale as I've ever personally experienced. (which is fairly high) 2. Selections of food: The variety was a beautiful composition of flavors and textures unlike anything I've ever experienced in the most upscale dinner settings I've attended. Grilled Filet Mignon, marinated Chilean Sea Bass and the Porchetta were incredible, each unique in flavor, texture and tender to the bite. Nothing over or under cooked. Everything a perfect temperature. 3. The grilled, seasoned Asparagus = succulent & delicious with a light crunch, the mashed potatoes were beautifully neutral with subtle seasoning as to not over power any protein it accompanied, the salad with seasoned avocado halves and pomegranate = so fresh and balanced with seasoned avocado halves perfectly ripe without being hard or mushy. Obviously each one was carefully hand selected and carefully removed from the skin/shell. 4. The Charcuterie Board was another culinary masterpiece of carefully selected soft, medium and hard cheeses, fruits, nuts, jams, & breads, each with unique flavors and textures that worked harmoniously together to create a flavor experience. 5. Of course the wine and dessert selections were a perfect finish. 6. Service a 15 out of 10. Need I say more? I don't know if I will ever encounter anything this special again, I may have to hire Chef Dora to cater my next event to make sure I do. Cheers Chef and Thank You. read more

Chef Dora Presents is simply amazing! Firstly, we rarely write Yelp reviews. Something has to be extraordinary for us to take the time. We first used Chef Dora for a very important event: our engagement announcement/party. These kinds of events just HAVE to be perfect, and it was! The food was beyond expectation and the service was first class. It was such a huge success, many of our guests made note of the caterer and took her contact information; highly unusual. So then during Covid this year we realized it would just be us for Thanksgiving, and heard Chef Dora would be creating a Thanksgiving feast. We immediately signed up. And on turkey day we were once again treated to the culinary delights of Chef Dora! The stuffing was literally the best we'd ever had in our lives! The turkey, succulent, juicy and spectacular. We also had the lamb, and WOW, it was delicious! The vegetables amazing and we've never had a sweet potato casserole that made your entire mouth come alive, it was perfect. And not the biggest fan of pumpkin pie, this pie defied all previous experience! Mind blowing, really! We've written a novel here, but to put it simply, any event, dinner, cocktail party or holiday is taken to an entire other level by using Chef Dora. She receives our absolute highest rating and recommendation!! read more

I had the pleasure of working with Chef Dora and their team for six months when building out a children's meal home delivery service. I couldn't have been happier with the collaboration. First off, the food was spectacular and helped our company stay at 90% retention based on our client's love of the food. Every month, we would work together to audit the menu, and the ideas that they would present blew me away. Logistically, orders were always prepared on time and gave me peace of mind, as logistical challenges can be common in the catering world. Most importantly, Chef Dora and her team are an absolute pleasure to work with. A hard-working team that creates such an amazing food experience. I highly recommend and will continue to praise their services. read more

As a wedding planner - I rarely come across an amazing chef and a team as Chef Dora's. To clarify- it's not an easy job as a caterer to be able to feed a group of people (80 guests for my event) hot, delicious, perfectly presented food all at the same time while giving immaculate service but Chef Dora pulled off my client's wedding like a piece of cake! Everyone was so happy with the food, service and presentation - I had guests ask me constantly, "who did the catering!?" Our venue (Catalina View Gardens) had about 8 recommended caterers and I called every single one of them. In comparison, Chef Dora Presents had the best price, flexibility of service and quality of food (I went in for few tasting and her food was a no brainer). Chef Dora herself is extremely polite and pleasant to work with. I can't WAIT to work with her again in the near future for other events. read more
