10/02/2021 I have seen this truck parked here next to the car wash in Baldwin Ave at Valley Blvd. telling you the location in case they move or disappear from this spot. I have stopped here from time to time even before they decorated the truck part. Trailer part? You get the idea. The sauces are really good but be careful of the onions when you see little bits of orange, that's actually the spiciest habaneros I've endured. They set up tables so it's like a salsa and condiments bar. Step right up and fix your tacos how you like it. Drinks are here too if it gets too spicy for you. Our favorite local street tacos. Pricer but decent. $2 tacos, $10 burritos to go. CASH ONLY. Located on Baldwin where the Baldwin Car Wash is. Hours tbd but definitely open on weekend nights or nights in general. English is limited depending on the cashier by the sauce, and 2 cooks on the mobile food stand. We get Al pastor (cow shoulder), and Cabeza (Cow head) tacos and burritos. Or I usually just hand pick which ever meat on the pot grill looks freshest to me at the moment. They don't have lengua (tongue), which usually would be my fav meat choice. They have a chalkboard stand up sign menu of meats. I think burritos include meat, onion and cilantro, beans and rice. You can ask to not include certain items. Condiments: - 3 sauces from most spicy to least: Red, Green, Avocado or different thick base kind. - lime, very spicy tomato onion cilantro mix, radish, cucumber. 3 Iced drinks offered. We were looking for a late night snack, and this place hit the spot! I ordered the pastor and cabeza tacos for to go with no cilantro, onions only. My two tacos were wrapped and kept warm in a foil package. When I got back, I realized they gave me chorizo and buche, and a lot of cilantro. I removed the cilantro, not a big deal. The chorizo, at least I think it was chorizo, wasn't too dry and it was flavorful. There were also chunks of fat (?) in it. The buche was salty...and tasted like buche. I liked their salsas and felt it complemented the meats well. Unfortunately I didn't get either of the meats I wanted to try. Wow, what a wonderful find! I just randomly came across Chef Chuyito on a total whim, as I was cruising around the area looking for latenight eats. After just rolling into town from a long drive, I initially planned to dine at a popular local Korean spot, but alas, Yelp has been the bane of my existence during the pandemic, as business hours are often completely incorrect. I was bamboozled yet again. I was left scrambling to find something else, if anything at all was still open. Being in the 626, I wasn't even thinking of Mexican food, however, as I was moseying down Las Tunas Dr. at the corner of San Gabriel Blvd., the bright lights on a trailer instantly caught my attention. Could it be? Why yes, a taco stand open until the wee hours of the night! Yes, my savior was here! The time was now after 11 pm, and the streets were quite empty, so I was surprised that they were still open, but supposedly, on the evening I visited, they remained until 12:30 am. As with most street tacos, prices are very reasonable, at $2.50 apiece, with all your favorite selection of meats. Furthermore, there is no upcharge for cabeza. And let me tell you... not only is the pricing reasonable, but it is an absolute steal! Tacos are stuffed to the gills with an ample amount of ingredients. The meat is tender and juicy, and veggies are fresh. I initially ordered four tacos, but couldn't resist going back for one more to put me over the hump! No regrets! Oftentimes, the best food we find is by complete accident. Funny story, we drove by and saw a taco set up, so we stopped to have a taco each. We ordered 2 al pastor tacos as we saw the rotisserie set up. They were still putting meat on the rotisserie set up, so it wasn't cut straight from there. I loved how they have a salsa bar set up, with everything you need for toppings. One of the salsas were pretty spicy, so the pineapple drink was there for the rescue. I would have liked the tacos more if it had some grilled pineapple, Also, al pastor tacos usually have like red-like seasoning (not spicy) but this one didn't, so the flavor was a bit different from what I expected. This taco spot has become my family's new fave local taco spot. Honestly speaking you can catch us here at least once a week. Our go-to is their pastor taco. We love how on the side they offer a variety of sauces and toppings. We like to top our tacos with avocado salsa, red salsa, green salsa, pickled veggies, radish, and lime. If you're not a fan of spice be careful of the pickled veggies since they have a kick to them. The tacos are about $2, however, they do give more meat compared to other trucks. Came here because I saw @bunbaosibs post about them! This spot is delicious! We got the al pastor and carne asada tacos which were both yummy. The al pastor was our favorite because of the flavor. The carne asada had this ground meat texture, so we weren't a fan. They have a sauce bar which you can put your own salsa (red, green, etc.) They have 3 locations: 2 in San Gabriel (valley/del mar and san gabriel/las tunas and 1 in El Monte. I've ridden by this location numerous times, but about ten days ago I had the opportunity to stop and try it. SO GOOD! I've only had the tacos so far, but have loved them.
