Don't let the name fool you, the business is not a factory that produces cheese but rather a store that sells cheese combined with a restaurant. When you walk in, all the shelves with the various varieties of cheeses and tools/accessories are right there in front of you. I was looking for a cheese wheel of Pesto flavored cheese but they didn't have it, they only had Pesto in wrapped slices but gifts are more presentable in wheels. That little aspect does not mean Cheese Factory doesn't have a good variety of cheese, they do and it does not mean it lacks pizazz. On the touristy street of Warmoesstraat with the bars and shops is this earthy change of atmosphere. Earthy, meaning it offers produce from the farm. After awing at all the variety of cheeses on the shelves you pass the counter with it's salad bar and where the food is prepared. In the back is the restaurant of wooden benches lined back to back, it's comfortably warm in feeling yet cool in temperature with lights beaming down from the shaded roof, bright but not overwhelming. The food is of cheese products like food with cheese baked into them and a different sort of food creations; available on the menu is a line of breakfast choices, salads, sandwiches, baked goods and drinks-coffee/orange juice. One can maybe just go up to the food bar with the canisters behind the counter and order your own creation but when you head to the back and if they are not busy, you will be greeted by a friendly waitress and offered table seating. I find this place to be a wholesome place to escape the streets for a nice breakfast or lunch, no sure of how dinner is.
