We could not resist coming to this place while visiting Amsterdam. Very generous with letting us sample their delicious cheeses. I gave up cheese years ago... but damn! So so good...

I enjoyed stopping in here to look around and sample a few cheeses. There was little customer service as my assumption was that most people just came in for the free samples. We purchased a small gouda cheese to take back to our hotel and snack on it with some delicious bread from a nearby bakery. There were lots of cheeses to choose from as they were stacked from counter height to the ceiling. They have a great location as they are very close to Dam Square and on one of the busiest corners near Central Station.

Yes, this IS dedicated cheese luggage!

You're going to see this exact same review 3x for all 3 shops as all 3 were equal in all areas. How much did we like it? Well enough to spend an additional 15min having our cheese swabbed in airport security. Yes, I took back an entire tote bag filled with a variety of cheeses (13 kinds) & yes, I took it as carry-on luggage. Yes, you CAN do that, though you may want to allow extra time for additional screening, as a bag full of cheese looks suspicious on the scanner. (Let them know ahead of time, so they flag it as odd contents and things go more smoothly) Tasting cheeses are readily available and you can taste literally EVERYTHING before you buy. Why then, with a bag filled with cheese do I give them 4 stars? Because it truly caters to tourists which resulted in higher pricing. Still, you buy KNOWING it can all fly back with you.

It was so cool getting to try so many cheese options here! A must visit place to see, the staff were so cool and knowledgeable about all the stores options, which made it even better to shop! Fantastic experience!

At first glance I thought, what a gimmicky store, definitely designed to trap tourists. After walking in and checking the place out, I was amazed. The quality of this cheese is superb. How would I know just by looking? That's where it got goooood; free samples of literally any cheese in there. Some samples were put out with pairing jellies, some on their own. If no samples were present, just ask the super friendly and helpful staff and they gladly will slice you a nice little piece! All prices are clearly posted and I think a great deal compared to what you'd pay in the states. The flavors and consistencies are just delectable. Definitely stop by, there's zero pressure to buy anything.

Walked by here and knew I had to pop in! They provide samples of almost all of the cheeses and have some surprising and unique varieties. We entered up buying a Truffle Farmhouse and a Goat Milk Gouda.

Wall to wall of cheese! Delicious, delicious cheese. This place is akin to a lot of tourist trap brands, a store with a tight branding that sells a particular novelty food (jerky, jams, spreads) aimed primarily at tourists. It's an easy find, easy out, with a clean selection of decently tasting cheese. Though sometimes I wonder if the locals actually buy from these stores. I'd hazard a guess at not typically, since they probably know where all the really good stuffs hiding, yea? Regardless, I saw several of these just walking around Amsterdam, so they're easy for some quick souvenirs or something to nibble on. They offer a nice sampling of cheese of different ages. Staff sometimes gives tastings to tourists as well. They also sell a small range of mustard (honey, dijon, balsamic). Pros: Really clean and easy selection of cheese to take with you. Has samplings of cheese at varied maturities. (really awesome) Tourist friendly. Cons: Might be overpriced in comparison to some places with better options. Tourist friendly. If I had the time, it would have been fun to scope out the other cheese shops hiding in the nooks and crannies of Amsterdam, but I'd say ACC is a fun bet for quick and tasty cheese.

Super knowledgeable and patient staff. They were super nice while we tried literally every cheese in the shop. And let me just tell you, their cheeses are incredible. From now on, if a cheese says "Dutch," I'm buying it. We ended buying a aged goat gouda that was divine and devoured the very next day.

Nice lay out and decent selection.

Amsterdam is a huge exporter of cheese; in fact, more than 50% of the world's Gouda is made here. So if you like cheese, walk into any of the cheese shops in town for tastings and possibly bringing home some goodies. We didn't plan well enough and bought ours at the start of our trip, which meant by the time we were to head home we weren't so sure about what we had anymore. (Yeah, we couldn't wait till we got home and had to open the package and eat some of it while we were traipsing around Europe.) This particular shop was right around the corner from our apartment. There was no other reason we chose to go here over any number of other cheese shops. I'm guessing they are all similar and offer tasty goods. Those wheels! The shelves can put you in a cheesy trance...

They offer tastings which I didn't do or inquire about but that's only because I was on a mission for some aged Gouda.

Explore everything here! We came to Dutch Delicacy on pure accident, as we were walking around and saw that they had a ton of different goudas for sale. In the front part of the store is a take-out counter where they sell hot items, like sandwiches and baked pastries and desserts, like cheesecakes and cookies the size of your face! It all looked appealing and would've totally purchased a food item, had we not had lunch beforehand. Throughout the store were the cheese samples of the many different various kinds. It goes beyond what you thought gouda could be. There are sheep's and goat's cheeses for many of the different types. There are pesto cheeses that come in different colors like a bright blue and pink. There are cheeses that pair well with the dips that had me thinking about my next dinner party. There's Dutch chocolate here for sale. There's different knives for cutting cheese. There's truly everything here you could imagine for your gouda-filled meal. Staff was super friendly and asked if we needed any help or wanted to know more about any of the different cheeses. For sale, a lot of the goudas are pre-packaged for a pound and meets airline security measures for taking it home with you. I'm glad we stumbled upon Dutch Delicacy. We were able to try so many different cheeses, which I found a few for home. I recommend for anyone visiting Amsterdam to make a stop here; there's a lot of items you'll want to take home with you.

If you're a cheese lover like me then this store will be an absolute paradise…read more It took all I had in me not to roll those wheels back to our hotel. Honestly, the notorious Amsterdam staircases are what prevented that from taking place lol. Old Amsterdam makes some of the finest cheeses in the world today. They've been around a long time and are still extremely relevant in the dairy world. So much flavor and goodness in everything they produce. The store isn't large but they have a lot to offer. It's easy to move about inside. Employees are friendly. The samples flow freely.

For this particular shop, I highly recommend the vintage edition- the oldest cheese they sell- I bought 3 of them and already regret not getting more. While the brand is available stateside, that particular vintage is not.
