So the service is good but I got my order it's Luke warm. Very disappointing. I had to send it back. Which is unfortunate. I have not been here since just before Thanksgiving when almost every meal at our table of four was not correct. So they brought it out now it's steaming. But my guess is they nuked it. The manger came over I told him. I showed him it was original plate and was gone only a few minutes. So my meal is being completely redone and on management. Which then changed this whole review and brought up the star rating. I have to commend a manager who will admit to mistakes and correct them without arguments. We ate there Saturday night .chicken pot pie was excellent.my husband had ribs and baked potato.and slaw. We have eaten there several times . Every time his baked potato is cold .butter won't even melt on it.And this time his ribs were cold .plus the potato.Nothing turns us off more than cold food.A couple time we had ribs and they were so fat we couldn't eat them .each time he says not going back.ok end of rant .The only plus was the nice and hot pot pie. read more

We have been trying to get into this restaurant for a long time, but there is always a long wait. We were pleasantly surprised to get in on a Saturday for lunch, there was plenty of wait staff and we were seated immediately. It was clean, and the waiter was courteous. We ordered the Onion rings, a Monte Christo sandwich, and Iced tea. The onion rings are served in a stacked tower with 2 kinds of dipping sauce, it looks really cool but they get cold fast. The spicy sauce was the best. When the sandwich arrived it was presented with Raspberry jam, american fries, and dusted with powdered sugar. the sugar was all over the french fries :-( . The sandwich was completely drenched in grease, we both tried to eat it, but had to peel the grease laden crust off and still could manage to get down only a few bites. The fries were typical out of a bag items. The tea was good. Can't figure out why this place is always so busy. Considering that there is a normal wait time of 30 minutes or more, we won't go back. read more

Love this restaurant. Our server was so quick that for the first time in my dining days I actually had to personally tell my waitress how good of a job she did. My food was also very good. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken wraps and once again for the first time, I was unable to finish my entrée at a restaurant. Not because I didn't enjoy it, but because it was a lot of food which was nice to have for a change. The décor and design of Cheddar's is unique and gorgeous. It feels like an expensive five star restaurant, but costs no more than Chili's or Applebee's. read more

Our family used to eat there at least once a week. The last time we went my mom ordered a salad. She pulled out a condom of her salad right before taking a bit. There was no doubt in our mind that it was a condom. The manager came out and took the condom and began to stretch it out and try to fit it around his wrist, at first it wouldn't fit. The manager continued to stretch it until it fit his wrist then tried to tell us it was just a broken piece of a glove. Obviously it wasn't. My husband and I, as well as two friends of ours visited at your Terre Haute location on Saturday 1-28-17. The server's attitude left a lot to be desired. Firstly, we could not get her to give us straws. Then, when my husband and my friend ordered two strawberry mango margaritas the glasses had just come out of the dish washer, making the drinks warm. Both said there was no taste to the margaritas, and they sent them back. After telling the server that they were warm, she snapped back " I am not the bar tender." She did state that she would tell the manager about the situation, which never happened. Secondly, it took her such as long time to take our orders after she had brought the appetizers that were still working on our salads when the food arrived, making it cold before we could even eat the main course. She asked if I wanted ketchup, to which I stated "no." She then turned to my husband who did not answer her right away because he didn't know she was asking him. So she repeated her question in a very rude tone "Ketchup?" Our friend still did not have a straw, so on the third try, she finally gave us a straw. We decided that we would involve the manager. I went and got him. He was very friendly and followed us to the table. We told him what had happened and he agreed that it was wrong for her to act that way. He said that he would take 25% off of the bill, but we explained that it was more about the friendliness of the staff. He also said that he would send out coupons to us and took down our names address, as well as our friends' names and address. We thought he was going to take care of bringing back our bill, after waiting an additional 20 minutes, we had to ask for it. Our rude server brought it to us. We finally paid and got up to go. Then, what happened next was totally inexcusable. I was still at the table putting on my coat. My husband and friends had gone up to wait for me. The server walked back by and said "I am sorry that you had such a bad night. I was just too busy." This angered my husband and he stated "There is a difference between being busy and being rude." The server went off on him, stating that she was not rude to him but that he had thrown the bill tray at her. My husband never threw anything to her and I stated that as I was pulling him away. She was rude from the start and I hardly think that the bill tray had anything to do with any of it. Our friends went back to the manger again, stating that this server was yelling at my husband in front of everyone. He told me that he had witnessed it and that she would be properly disciplined. This was the worst experience we have ever had in any restaurant and I don't think coupons to your restaurant will help us return. I cannot remember the server's name, but the manager's name is James and I know that he will know exactly what incident this is when it is brought up. I thank you for your time. Great food, great service, attractive decor. Our waitress (Jordan) was excellent. I chose the catfish with Mac and cheese, with corn, and I couldn't ask for a better meal. They have a pretty good kids menu so everyone will have something to their liking. I would certainly go back for another good meal. read more

First time here. Sat at the bar for dinner. Awesome service! Two guys tending bar were on top of everything and even as dinner got busy never slacked in service. Well done! Ordered fried chicken with beans and mashed, and while chicken was awesome, both sides were cold as was the gravy. Once informed, manager was on it, and had replacements in minutes, but would prefer it right the first time. Will definitely be back. Arrived mid afternoon on a Monday Aug 3rd. Seated in bar. Waitress forgot our drink order - had to remind her. Too busy talking. She was yelling drink and salad orders to other waitresses that apparently were helping her. Dishes were being stacked at the end of the bar. Had to remind her to bring ketchup. Food was slow coming out of kitchen - restaurant was not busy. Food was okay. Work staff decided to have a gab session between us and the bar. Waitress plopped down two to go containers. I have to say I have never wrote a review before. Nor have I ever complained at a restraint. This was so bad I am doing both. I have been to Cheddars twice. The first time it was great! We always order carry and it was really good. This time it was terrible. I get there, pay for the food. The server grabs some plastic containers off the counter and says sorry we don't have any bags. When I pick up the containers they were ice cold. ( I got there before the time they told me) he gets the manager and I told him my complaint. He said well you've already paid so all I can do is give you a gift card and hands me an envelope. I get home the ribs a dry, the fries are so soggy it was like they were dipped in water and the " medium rare" steaks were so burnt we could use them for hockey pucks. So we paid $37 for broccoli casserole and potato skins since those were the only things edible, not good but edible. Oh and the gift card he gave me was only $15. Not even half of what I wasted. Which is ok because I will never go back. read more

Went to Cheddars 1/29/15 to try the new restaurant. Was in sort of a hurry after a movie so was going to get an order to go. After my girlfriend and I were given a menu at the bar we had decided what we wanted and were sitting at the bar with menu closed waiting to be waited on. The bartender right in front of us started amusing himself by taking all his liquor bottles out from under the bar and started wiping all of them off placing them on the counter while we were waiting to place our order. After watching him clean all his bottles we figured that must have been more important to him than taking an order so we got up and left. I will have to really think hard if I ever want to try Cheddars again. Twice I have went to the restaurant wanting to take a menu to go to thinking they would eventually have one but was told they only list their menu online so what would a customer do wanting to look at what they have to offer if they have no access to the internet and yes there are still people in that situation. read more
