Dear Cheddar's, Forgive for what I wrote when I was being a brat and rebelling against the fact that I didn't want to eat here. I don't even remember what I ordered or how foolish I was to give you two stars. I have gone back three times and have fallen in love with the Buffalo Chicken Wraps! Seriously, I am considering naming my second child (in the future) after the menu item because they are so good! Ever since our friends told us about Cheddars a couple of years ago, we have been big fans of this restaurant. Some of our favorite dishes are the chicken tenders, potpie, grilled chicken & pecan salad, and grilled white fish on rice. And we consider the house salad to be one of the most perfect we've ever had! The servings are generous, the sides are delicious, and they have a gluten-free menu. Our server was good. The food took awhile and arrived lukewarm. But what really bothered me about me experience at this cheddars is the lack of upkeep in the restaurant. This was our first visit to this location, and it pales in comparison to the Semoran location. Both the hostess and server informed us that the kitchen was backed up. So I took this to mean that service might be slow, and that's okay. What I can't accept is lukewarm food. There wasn't a wisp of steam from any of our food. I ordered a burger with cheese and sauteed mushrooms. The layer of cheese was so thin I couldn't taste it. The mushrooms were whole rather than sliced, so they couldn't really sit right on the burger. My wife ordered the chicken tenders and shrimp. Not good; we sent it back. With the Semoran location being closer to home, I doubt we'll come back to this location. read more

OMG!! I absolutely adored my time at Cheddar's! I was the leader for a party of 50! And let me just say, they handled me and my huge party with so much professionalism, I greatly appreciated it. While the restaurant wasn't able to make a reservation for our party, they did allow me to call early in the day and to be put on the waitlist. They told me it was going to be an hour wait (which is not bad on a Friday with a party of 50!) but we didn't even have to wait the full hour! Came here with my cousin for lunch. Had a great time. I'm from New York so it was refreshing to eat something different I had the steak and shrimp with mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese along with the pain killer. My cousin had the grilled salmon with rice and some Crab sauce that was recommended by our server Donnie. Both dishes were delicious as well as the drink. Our server Donnie was attentive and nice. Overall Cheddars has great options, great prices, great food. However, do not, I repeat DO NOT order to go from this location. I have done it more than a handful of times since Mother's Day for 8-9 people. They ALWAYS get it wrong, something is always missing, it's burnt or they are out of whatever it is you want. Plus the customer service is HORRIBLE for Togo. This past Sunday I ordered, it was wrong, thankfully I checked before I left. I told the girl it was wrong and she just stared at me, I had to prompt her to go and fix it. When I did prompt her, she just took the bag and walked away, no acknowledgement what so ever. Silence. This is my second time at Cheddar's for lunch. I'd heard a lot of good things about this place and decided to try it out for myself. The atmosphere is inviting and nice for a lunch gathering. The staff are also professional and friendly. As far as food goes, they have a decent sized menu and everything is made from scratch. The honey butter croissants are delicious and you can really taste the freshness in them. The lunch prices are definitely great for the value. I will definitely be back for dinner soon. read more

And on this particular night, I decided to surprise her with an early birthday dinner at a chain we've never been to - so cue in Cheddar's. I have to say, even I was impressed. The menu is straightforward and simple, yet quite extensive at the same time. We had a party of 7 and we did the call-ahead seating. Customer service on the phone was good - we were running late, I changed our arrival for 30-minutes later - no problem whatsoever. Once we arrived we were sat down immediately and then the fun began. The food, though not exceptional, was very, very good. No complaints from anyone around the table, The service was top notch as our server and it seemed a team of helpers kept our drinks full, delivered our appetizers and dinner in the most friendliest of manners, and it was just an overall great experience. Went here for lunch today. I honestly haven't been here for like 9 years and decided to try it again. The inside was nicer than I expected it to be, I would say it's on the same level as bahama breeze. We ordered the smokehouse burger which had bbq sauce, bacon, cheese, tomato, pickle and crispy onion strings. This burger is 1/2lb I believe and $5.49! Likeeeee what?! It was delicious. We also ordered and shared the jalapeño pepper jack cheeseburger. This one had melted pepper jack cheese and fried jalapeño slices with some sort of aoli on it; I ordered it with no onion tomato or lettuce but it does come on it if you wish. This burger was delicious as well and the same price! The service was good; a tiny bit slow for a lunch service because the restaurant wasn't too packed but our waitress was very friendly. Very sad! The quality really went downhill after Darden took over. My last trip was my last. It seems they left my entire party's entrees were under the heat lamp for hours. One meal had to be sent back the other three were horrible. Dry tasteless steak, a spaghetti dish that tasted like wall-paper paste. My husband took me here for a quick birthday lunch and called ahead to let them know it was my birthday and to see if they did anything special for birthdays. The person on the phone told him they don't do anything and was extremely rude about it. When we got to the restaurant and he told me about this, I asked our waitress, Carly, if that was true. She said they don't always do something but sometimes they bake cookies for the birthday guest. When I told her how rude the person on the phone was to my husband, she was very diligent in finding out who it was and when she couldn't, she came back and told me to pick anything from the dessert menu and she's take care of it. My meal was from hell! Waiter very nice but manager did not come and apologized for our dinner being over cooked and over seasoned that caused me nausea! The second steak was not a sirloin but a ribeye grisly fatty meat and was not tender and got me more nauseous! They took the meal off but did not offer me a replacement and I left the restaurant hungry and I am a diabetic! Next day, my mother in law got sick with nausea (food poisoning) and as for myself nausea and diarrhea and I didn't eat as much as she did! Stay away from the this Cheddars, management sent waiter to do his job and second steak was wrong steaks! Food either old or was bad and management trying to save money by serving meat that was bad and old and food that is reused! The Cheddars in Sanford is the best! Go to that one! A recent restaurant on Colonial in Orlando, Cheddar's is a dining experience that is inexpensive and great for ages all around. I've eaten here a couple times and have enjoyed their varied choices of dishes. I've tried their fried chicken to their salmon. Their fish dishes are not bad at all and are pretty inexpensive. I'm not too impressed by their food, like it's just okay to me. I haven't found an impressively delicious dish there besides their side of corn. They have an interesting drink menu and I've tried their frozen strawberry drink where you pour the tequila shot in there yourself. It is ridiculously difficult to pour the shot in there without it overflowing or you sitting there mixing your drink trying to get the ice to melt. I don't quite understand the method they have with this drink but it was very sweet and difficult for me to finish. Service wasn't bad, they were attentive even on a busy night. Lots of parking outside. Ambiance has a casual vibe and decorations are classic and modern. I don't see a theme right off the bat either but it's very Florida if that makes any sense. All in all, not a bad place, will come back again if friends make me. read more

This was my second visit to this Cheddar's location. The restaurant was very crowded both times but both the food and service were worth the slight waits to be seated. My favorite item to order at Cheddar's is the BBQ Chicken Platter. I especially appreciate that the chicken is roasted with the BBQ sauce. Many places serve BBQ chicken with the sauce on the side, which just tastes bland to me. Our party devoured the Homemade Chips and Queso appetizer. Portion sizes are excellent. Several of us took home left overs for lunch the next day! Service was great, especially when the manager and server accommodated our request to add a little space by adding another small table to the end of our table. Our server surprised us with a large cake/ice cream dessert at the end of our meal as we mentioned when we first arrived that 3 family members in our party had December birthdays that we were celebrating. Pretty good bang for your buck. The portions are big enough that I always have leftovers. Their Asian salad is pure craziness and deliciousness! I also enjoy their "lighter" option menu as well. The spicy shrimp and lemon pepper white fish....Yum! Their cocktails are insanely huge and we'll priced. My favorite is the Sangria Frozen Swirl which is a combo of Margarita and sangria for less than $5 bucks. They usually have a wait to sit in eat. So be prepared check out bar seating. read more

This place was delicious! I dined here on a Friday night. The place was packed and we were told it was a thirty minutes wait. We waited and after thirty minutes, we were seated! The prices are very reasonable and the wait staff was decent. My companion even ordered the wrong item (steak instead of chicken) and they fixed the problem for her promptly! I had one of their burgers with a side of mac & cheese. Portion sizes for entrées are bountiful and deliciously worth every penny. Sides are a little small, but just as delicious.
