Once I was seated and looked over the menu, I ordered a drink and the meatloaf, which was served with two sides: steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes. Before the food arrived, the server brought over a plate of honey butter croissants. OMG, these croissants were absolutely delicious! So warm, soft, and flaky--the honey butter drizzle was chef's kiss. The deliciousness continued with the meatloaf, which was moist, perfectly cooked, and covered in a rich, flavorful gravy; complemented by the tender broccoli and creamy mashed potatoes. This was comfort food at its best. My drink (Tito's & cranberry) was delightful and well-balanced. If I wasn't so stuffed, I would have ordered another one. The mister used to live in Orlando so we went there partially so he could revel in his yester-years. He loves a good chicken platter, especially for a low price, so we split one. This was alright taste wise. We chose corn and baked potato as our sides. The servous was not fabulous. It didn't look crowded. Often a gentleman,who appeared to be a bartender, would come assist us when our server dissappeared for long stretches of time. Once our table was ready, the host walked us in and directed us to two booths, not directly next to each other. I was a bit upset, because we were not told our group would be divided. Met up with some friends for lunch here. We arrived right at 11 AM when the location opened. I went with the grilled chicken pecan salad. I really enjoyed the salad, although the candied pecans were pretty hard to bite so I ended up leaving most of them in the salad. Really enjoy the honey Dijon dressing that goes with the salad because it gives it a nice tan and the chicken was cooked perfectly. I wasn't sure what to expect when we went into Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen, the parking was fairly quiet and we had no wait when we went into the restaurant. We were greeted and seated immediately, and it was lunch time so it was fairly quiet in the restaurant. There's a nice cozy atmosphere, with booths, tables, and little alcoves where you can be seated. The decor and the theming are modern but homely. We were very quickly greeted by our server and he asked if we had been here before and gave us a few suggestions as we were both new. Shortly after he brought the house honey butter croissants which I have to say are the best item I've had as a free "bread" option. You get one order of the croissants for free and we definitely asked for some more to go home with at the end!! I've always been a pastry fan and these croissants were fresh and tasty and the honey butter was absolutely incredible. Food came out shortly after, it was hot, the fries were perfectly seasoned and my fish was light and flaky. I'd read a lot of mixed reviews about Cheddar's but they were quickly put to rest, because our experience was nothing short of fantastic. When my husband's pasta was served it looked dry as though it had been sitting out for quite a while. Pasta was overdone as well. At 5 pm, it was very empty, but they seated the 4 of us at a table in the bar, next to a loud group of 8. After 15 minutes and no sign of a server, my husband went looking for someone. A server was sent over and we ordered drinks. The menu is varied, but I just wanted a burger and fries. Not our first time at a Cheddar's, but our first time with great success. We started with an appetizer, cheese bites . My seven year old is in love with these and enjoyed every last one of them . If I didn't have a trip I would have returned my plate and got something else but our food took forever to come out. Like our Wisconsin cheese bites. So delicious but it took almost 25 mins to come out and she kept apologizing thinking it been came out. My main meal the ribeye steak was absolutely dry. Wow never had such a dry steak like that. The only thing scratch about cheddars scratch kitchen is that the poor food and waitstaff left me scratching my head. Let me explain. I took my family for dinner while we were visiting Orlando. Seven adults and two toddlers. The waiter was friendly and brought some free sugar bun to the table. After getting drink orders, the waiter disappeared. Thirty minutes later the drinks came. Fifteen minutes later our dinner orders were taken. My son and daughter in law asked that the toddlers meals come out with the appetizers. Of course they didn't. Another forty five minutes and the adult meals came out. Still no toddler meals. I then get angry. The waiter brought the kids meals more than 90 minutes after we arrived. Needless to say, we had cranky and hungry kids after a day at Disney. No restaurant with sense lacks an understanding of the needs of little kids. It shouldn't take 90 minutes to serve chicken nuggets. As for the meals, the pot pie was watery and the vegetables were badly undercooked. My rib eye steak was 80% fat. I took a picture of what I cut away and will attach if I can.clearly the rib roast wasn't trimmed properly. I ended up with less than ounces of meat. My son's ribeye was better. Oh, also the ribeye had no rim of cap steak. The best part was missing. Cheap cut and cheap meat. The order was medium rare but was serves seared and rare.. The side dishes- corn was canned and tasteless. I grow corn at home. It wasn't fresh corn. The carrots were good. The Italian beans were good but portion was 2 tablespoons at most. The biggest complaint - my pregnant vegetarian daughter ordered the vegetable plate. The menu clearly states that one gets a soup or salad plus four vegetable side dishes. The waiter insisted that you only get three dishes and the salad counts as one. I pushed back and he agreed to three vegetables plus the salad. WTF. Either change the menu or train staff. All in all. This place is receiving 1 star off the customer service ALONE. We recently came to town to celebrate my nieces birthday with a quick trip to FL from NC. After arriving in town "8pm", we decided it would be a good idea to eat at Cheadders. WHAT COULD GO WRONG ?! We arrived at 9pm after settling our luggage in the rooms, they close the resturant at 10pm. For 15 minutes, the servers and host argued in front of us that they did not want to take our party of 5 because they were ready to go home. Each server refused us. While they were arguing another family came in 2 adults and 3 kids, they told them that they were no longer sitting people ( atp it's 9:20). We finally get sat, the server introduces herself and says "I'll be back in 5 minutes" I'm pretty sure you guessed that she never returned. We waited and listened to another family state that they had been waiting for 2 hours for food and their food was below subpar. At this point it's so many red flags about the restaurant, that it was beaming red. We left and decided on Cheeseburgers at a fast food restaurant. First time at Cheddar's, and I can guarantee that it won't be my last. Being a Saturday night, we were seated immediately. It was busy, but not overly crowded. The restaurant was really nice inside. Very modern and American decor all around. I love that I saw about 5 American flags, including a very old one in an enclosed frame right above our booth. Our waitress couldn't have been any nicer and friendlier. She was very prompt and attentive. Our food was absolutely delicious. I had the Top Sirloin and Ribs with cheese and bacon Mashed Potatoes and the southern green beans. Paired with a Texas Sweet Tea. I truly enjoyed every last bite. It was delicious. The ribs were so tender that I couldn't pick up a rib bone without the meat just falling off. For dessert I truly enjoyed the Hot Fudge Cake Sundae. It was absolutely delicious.
