I've actually given this place a chance four times... Too many. Each time I've visited Cheddar's since opening, I've done so at various times of the day and on various different days. Every meal I've ordered has been a great disappointment as they all tasted as if they were cooked exactly the same way. There was no taste variation to any different meal and the Country Fried Steak was severely over-cooked and hardly edible. Service was scarce each time and few other servers seemed more available than our own. I'm not apt to choosing this place even once more. I realize many people love this place for its hearty portions/small budget, but its at the bottom of my list of favorite restaurants in Jackson. read more

Have not eaten here in Jackson Tennessee in forever. We quit going because the food quality tanked as the prices rose. Decided to try again and ordered two chicken pot pies to go. There is a reason why they don't post prices on their website as I paid almost $22.00. The containers were not even half full and the crust on top wasn't cooked. It came with a salad consisting of wilted lettuce, 2 croutons and a grape tomato cut in half. This place is pathetic as there wasn't anyone greeting the customers nor the mask requirements enforced. Stay away from here and spend your money elsewhere. read more

Clearly this is a chain restaurant, but higher up on the food chain than most. You can always find what you want to eat there and the ribeye is one of the best I've ever tasted, as good as some of the high-end steak houses. The hostess was not the most welcoming, and it took longer to be seated than we were told it would, which wasn't a huge problem because they were busy so it is understandable. When we were finally sat we ordered and everything, it took almost 25-30 mins for just our appetizers to come out. When we finally got our food, one of the meals was wrong. Our server did not come back often at all. We had to send a completely different server to track her down just to be able to tell her the food was wrong. When we were finally able to get her to come back, she seemed very annoyed at us because OUR food was messed up. she left and got them to remake it, however it took about 30-35 mins just for them to remake it and she never came back in that timeframe. We eventually flagged her down again to just get it put in a togo box instead because we were starting to get understandably upset. She seems pretty annoyed at us for that too. She comes back a few minutes later with the food ON A PLATE and a togo box in hand for us to just put it in there ourselves. She said "sorry i went back there and it was just sitting there". I take a bite and it's ICE COLD. All because she just didn't want to go check on the food and didn't want to come back to our table to check on us. Quite angry because I don't think I have ever experienced such bad service from a dine in restaurant. It was a very disappointing experience to say the least. read more

I had lunch here in a weekday at 2:00pm. My service was prompt and friendly. Joseph was my server My food was hot and fresh. I had the cornmeal catfish. It was also a LOT of food at $7.99 -the lunch portion. The restaurant is so beautifully decorated one would not expect such great prices. Worst restaurant I have ever been to. My mother and I have been here almost an hour and haven't gotten our food. The waitress couldn't even pronounce the type of wine my mother ordered, and kept thinking I was drinking Coke instead of sweet tea. As soon as we sat down, I knew I chose the wrong restaurant to have dinner. It took almost 15 minutes alone to get our drinks. Between the loud baby behind us with the mother who can't control her child, to the half spilled dressing on my salad when it came out, and the poor man waiting on a take out order since we walked in.. the only reason this place has a one star review is because of the nice couple who helped the time sort of fly by as we all waited and waited for our lukewarm food to arrive. Terrible service. First, called in to place to go order and was left on hold for 10 minutes, so my husband decided to just stop in and place a to go order. There were only a handful of people at the bar so he sat and tried to get someone's attention for several minutes. Finally his order was taken and he waited 27 minutes. Again, not busy. I'm not one to complain about service, but I am still fuming over what happened at this place last night. I went on a double date with my friend and our boyfriends. Our waiter was not good at all. We waited about an hour after we were seated for our order to be taken. Before that, she had come to us and told us are food was almost ready, yet she never took our order. We pay our bills, we're in the parking and my boyfriend is checking his balance on a gift card his mother gave him. It was like a visa gift card you buy at Walmart. So he's checking it, and notices that $37.33 was taken out of his account. Our bill after taxes was only $31.11. At the bottom, the receipt gives you ideas for how much of a tip to leave. The waiter took it upon herself to give herself a tip. I called up there and asked about their tip policy. You either sign to give one or leave it on the table. We did neither. I explained to the man what happened. He tried to say the bank took out extra so he wouldn't overdraft. Let me remind you that my boyfriend used a GIFT CARD. It has no connection to any bank. I feel like he was in on it too, but who knows. He claimed there was no transaction with a Visa. I'm assuming she thought she could get away with it since my boyfriend had a gift card. When we first arrived we were a little uncertain about the server we had been assigned. He seemed a little distracted and it was an important moment so we asked if it were possible to switch servers. They quickly adjusted and a young lady got our drinks started while the manager/hosts found us another server. And they did not dissapoint!!! Chandler was amazing! My younger brother is special needs and is sensitive to loud noises. When a chair scrapped the floor nearby, Chandler immediately noticed my brother's reaction and asked the busser to be careful with the chair. Then proceeded to seat four family's in front of us. After seeing my obvious displeasure with this she sat us at a dirty table with ice chunks still on it from a previous guest. My husband and I love cheddars but lately we were disappointed. We have ordered to go these past 3 times and they took forever. Each time they were not busy. The last time we went it took them 1 hr to give us our order and the food we ordered was nothing that would take forever to make. Which was loaded fries, chips and queso, ribs with corn to the side. The queso was like water and the ribs were burnt. The manager did give me a free drink and apologized but she said they busy on weekends that's why they took so long. That was partly a lie because they were not busy at all at that moment. I appreciate the free drink and all but my husband and I were very disappointed. We will be coming back but we ask that your speed improve for to go orders. We get our food much quicker when we dine in than to go. Shouldn't the speed be about the same for both? read more
