Complementary butter croissant, which is sweet and the cheese curds
Bobby C.

Came here on the Darden gift card, which apparently owns Olive Garden, cheddars Longhorn steak, yardhouse and some others. I started with the Wisconsin cheese, curds and ranch. I followed that up with the cheddars trio sampler which comes with chicken tenders, spinach dip, and homemade queso and chips. I like the Olive Garden and I also love the Yardhouse and cheddar scratches as I love the of those takes on the chain restaurants but not as well known and still providing quality food. They focus on comfort food (chiven biscuits and gravy type fare) and the quality is equal to cheesecake factory in my opinion. All in all the price came to over $20 bucks for Wisconsin cheese curds and the sampler platters rig tenders, spinach dip and chips and their yellow queso sauce. Usually I only want queso if it's white but I took a gamble on the yellow goo and it was tasty. The curds are also amazing

Good casual ambience great prices, great for families, Good drinks, good fast service, but very mediocre food.

Bone-In Ribeye

First time here, I got the bone-in ribeye -- bad choice and should not be your restaurant of choice for a good steak. Second time, I got the chicken tender platter and it looks flavorful, but was very much the opposite. The service was amazing both times I went, but the food was always lacking and you could very much tell that they don't season anything. Wouldn't recommend, for the cost of bland food.

My daughter wanted some chicken fingers, so we decided to stop here for lunch. They gave us free butter crossaints and I had a house salad. we shared cheese curds as an appetizer and I had the monte cristo which I loved and my daughter enjoyed her chicken fingers.

Food is great. Service is great. You lost three stars for taking the catfish plates off the menu!

Why did Cheddars drop the Spasgna from the menu? It was a one of a kind dish and my absolute favorite. What would it take to bring it back?

Please bring it back! It was my favorite, too. SPASAGNA

Every single thing we ordered felt fresh, thoughtful, and just really well done. My kids were obsessed with the chocolate chip pancakes (which says a lot), and my dad and I worked our way through a few different dishes. The biscuits and gravy were comforting and rich without being too heavy, and even the simple eggs were cooked perfectly. But the standout? The breakfast tacos. They were insane. The pork was seasoned perfectly, super flavorful without being overwhelming, and everything just worked together so well. Also, do not skip the fresh squeezed orange juice or the local sourdough with homemade preserves. You can taste the difference. It's one of those places where you can tell they really care about the ingredients. Service was warm and easy, and the vibe just makes you want to sit and stay a while. We'll 100% be back if we're ever in Iowa City again!

She left... she didn't leave in a huff but she did arrive with an attitude which she took it with her when she left... probably a good thing for all. It's not always easy to find a table for a big party like that at the last minute on a Sunday. Rolls to kick things off... always good. Steak all around for us... well, chicken and fries for the small one in the group... the steak was supposed to be slightly pink on the inside - nope. The salad usually comes first and then the dinner - nope... half way through eating the dinner, the salad arrived with an apology and comment that we probably still didn't want it... but we accepted the salads anyway. I do like a good salad. And then we tasted the tardy salads... perhaps it was a new salad maker that was anxious about putting toooooo much salt in the salad - it can happen, right! Maybe that's why it was delayed. Their anxiousness was well founded... there was waaaay tooo much salt for a Caesar salad that should have been all about balanced ingredients, even when it comes already made to the restaurant. We've eaten at many Longhorn Steakhouses over the years, sadly this was a swing and a miss restaurant experience tonight for this Longhorn Steakhouse. It happens, right?!
