CSK was busy the night we partook, although they were able to get us seated right away. It's like a kind of Chilis or such type fare, with a southern flare as their differentiation. We ordered the onion rings, chicken parm, steak and cheese and chicken salad. THe onion rings were a stack of about 15 or so, which was more than we expected and accompanied b y ranch and Cajun ranch dressing. The latter had a small amount of spice, but was a nice accompaniment to the appetizer. The chicken salad was too salty for my colleagues taste buds, but the bread with artisan butter design on top was found to be very good. THe parm unfortunately was not accompanies by the usual garlic bread, due to a failed delivery apparently. (They were also out of fries as well). The steak and cheese included both 'shrooms and peppers, and while not a true Philly S&C, was reasonably well prepared although a tad heavy with NaCl shaker. As the name implies, everything here is made from scratch and is exceptionally fresh. In addition to that the service is great as well. Two groups ahead of my wife and I had disabilities and they were able assist them in the same time frame as my wife and I, very accommodating. The food was delicious, I order the combo or steak and ribs and both options were amazing. Both steak and a half rack of ribs with two sides for $22.49? Delicious and won't burn a hole in your wallet! Maybe a singe and that's it. I will say that the chicken penne pasta my wife ordered was a bit on the bland side, but was still very good. We had SUCH a great meal!! I ordered the chicken fried chicken meal; it came with 2 HUGE chicken pieces, a side, and Texas toast-all topped with white country gravy. Absolutely amazing!! My fiancé got the chicken Parmesan, and it looked very good as well!! If you want an appetizer, I highly recommend the onion rings or the honey butter croissants. The only reasoning give it 4 stars is that the wait was very long, especially for a Monday night. It took 45 min, but thankfully they let you wait in your car. Where can I start ... We got seated fairly quickly. Our server introduced herself, took our drink and meal orders (two side salads, a soup, and a sandwich). Ten minutes later we got our drinks. For 45 minutes we were absolutely ignored. Not a single server, manager, employee, etc came to our table. Our food finally came. We asked the server for another round of drinks and then watched the time for ANOTHER ten minutes before our server happened by and "they didn't bring your drinks?" My soup was "out of the can cold" temperature-wise and "burned my tongue" seasoning-wise. My second drink was not even the same drink. I've been a Cheddar's fan since my college years. It started with the Cheddar's in Daytona Beach, FL, off International Speedway Blvd, across from the race track. My newspaper team would go there for an easy-to-choose dinner after making the paper and we would usually be seated within 15 minutes. Granted, we were a large party (usu. 10-15 people) so we did our best to call ahead. My family came to that Cheddar's while they were in town for my graduation ceremony and we were a group of 10. I tell this story because I expected a similar scenario for today's visit. I expected the wait to be at least 15 minutes due to the fact it was still Sunday lunch hour (13:00 hrs) but apparently there was a party of 25 waiting in front of us, and they have been there for almost an hour. This was not what I had anticipated from a newly opened branch. My group of three was seated in roughly 20 minutes so no hassle there, just patience, but I feel bad for the big party. They tried to call ahead, but I'm gonna say that as a veteran of Cheddar's, big parties like that just won't go well. I think for a good experience, the max size of the group should be 15. That's my view. The hostesses seemed stressed out, so that's not good to have during the peak hours. My newspaper team would go during the latter half of the dinner rush, so we would miss the crowds and have a good chance of getting seated within 20 minutes. I had Bree as my group's server, and she was great. I spoke with her about how I was a veteran of this restaurant and wanted my coworkers to have a pleasant time. We did, and I'm happy to say that this new Cheddar's lives up to the reputation I gave it when I was in Florida. Large groups beware, do NOT come during peak hours! My pot pie was good. I didn't get my salad until I was almost done eating the pot pie. Other people in my group said their food was cold. My husband ordered a large margarita that was supposed to have kiwi and strawberries in it...he received a jumbo plain BURNT margarita instead. Sweet carrots were rubbery and dry even after I was told they were seasoned and moist. Broccoli cheese casserole was a lumpy mushy mess. Grilled Lemon Chicken was "ok". My husbands steak was ok, but his green beans were, frankly, unidentifiable and swimming in "something" liquidity. I've given this restaurant 2 stars only because the service was wonderful. Our waiter, Jordan, was very pleasant and tentative. The hostess, as well. There was no wait on a Friday night and I can only imagine that it's because of the food, unfortunately. * UPDATE* Well, it's been almost a month since writing this review. We were hesitant about coming here due to recent reviews but we had a gift card and decided to give it a try. We came around 5:30pm when it was starting to get really busy. The hostess seated us right away and we were helped right away. Our appetizers and drinks came out within 20 mins with our entrees 15 mins after that. Our server was so nice and answered any questions we had about the food and drinks. My husband got the rainbow trout, I got the 6 oz sirloin, my older son got the lemon chicken, and my little one got the kids chicken tenders meal. We were very pleased with the great service and tasty food. The restaurant was clean and if there was a spill or mess, the staff was quick to get it cleaned up. This place has been very hit and miss. I called for a to go order and was put on hold for 20 minutes. I finally just drove over and ordered at the bar. After letting them know about the problem with trying to order over the phone, I was passed over and interrupted while giving my order and waited an additional 10 minutes when I was trying to pay. I got a salad, soup, and half a monte cristo for like 10.99. Totally worth it as you get a honey butter croissant with the salad. It was my first time getting the monte cristo, and it was delicious! I was worried I wouldn't get enough jam, but it was perfect. Food was really good. Large portions. The service was terrible. We had to wait 10 or more minutes to have out drink order taken then another 10 minutes to get our drinks. We placed our drink, appetizer and meal orders at the same time . The waiter walked by many times before finally bringing our drinks. He eventually brought one of the two salads we ordered. We had to ask two waiters for silverware then had to ask for our second salad. After about 25-30 minutes we asked about our appetizer. We were told that someone else got our appetizer and that we would have to wait a little while longer to get out appetizer. We finally got out appetizer and within minutes three of the four meals were brought to us. The fourth meal was missing and we were told she (who was not our waiter) would check into it and let us know. About 10 minutes later the fourth meal was brought out. Our waiter checked on us one time and took our glasses fir refills. We had to ask for our check. We had to ask for boxes. While waiting for our check a guy from the wait staff started clearing the table. So there we sat at an empty table waiting and waiting on our check. Then we had wait and wait and wait for the waiter to return with our credit card. There were several empty tables were we were seated so I can not say the bad service we received was due to them being busy. We were not impressed. We probably won't be going back to this particular location. There are so many more choices in this area that have excellent service and food. Whatever you do, do not order from this Colorado spring's location via door dash, grub hub, etc. We have tried over 10 times and at least 8 of those times, there has been numerous major mistakes, left out items and tonight we waited over 2 hours for an order door dash claimed would take 20 minutes. I have to say I hate leaving negative reviews but after my latest experience I can't help but make sure it is known that this place is always declining in service. The manager Luke has made it to where I doubt myself or the others in our party will ever go back. Our entire table of 7+ received colder than acceptable food & we approached him just to inform him. Mind you we all meet here often. He got an attitude, like we all wanted something free, & offered us free desert or appetizers to make up. I honestly felt like he was mad at us for bringing it up. However, we all looked at each other & let it go. What happened next is the main reason I am writing this review. After he left our table we all saw him basically take it out on our server who he almost brought to tears. He then tried to check on us again like he was Mr nice guy & explain how it was the waitTess girls fault. He clearly did not know we are a non-profit that supports single mothers. To top it off we then heard him tell another person (looked like another manager) that he'd make sure our server would probably not enjoy their stay there. Im not sure if we'll go back there or not? But if I see him again I am going to tell him how he single handily ruined the Cheddar brand name for us. Shame on him & the company should interview the people that work for him & ask about his borderline abuse because he seems like the type that will have some reason why this experience was different. It's obvious Cheddars has a manager that is capable of running the place just enough so they don't realize he has to be a reason for either declining businesses or staff turnover. The monte cristi was too greasy, the food sat in the take out boxes too long, and everything was soaked. We arrived within 20-30 minutes for pick-up, but the burger bun and fish tacos tortillas were so soggy we had to eat with a fork and knife. The taste was okay, but we've had better.
