The chicken sandwiches are also chicken breasts fried with a tasty batter. I ordered the plain sandwich with pickles and it didn't need sauce, the natural flavors were enough. Always looking for great cooked chicken and daddy's has a whole lot of flavor. Competing in the Dave's Hot chicken business they are priced lower and you get more food for the price. I got the medium crispy chicken meal and the chicken and cole slaw sandwich. The chicken is flavorful and the fries are great. My one complaint is that the food was very greasy. We are visiting from out of town and passed Daddy's Chicken Shack on the way to my hotel. I immediately said to myself, "A business that has the coolest restaurant sign I've ever seen, has to have the best chicken I will ever taste!" I mean the anticipation of eating at Daddy's Chicken Shack was exquisite! I had been thinking about it for four (4) days! Unfortunately, the anticipation and excitement wore off upon my first bite. I was heartbroken to find that my Daddy's chicken sandwich was more like my step Daddy's chicken sandwich. You know, the kind that just is around because he only wants to do your mom, and doesn't really love you because you aren't blood related. The chicken sandwich was just plain there are only 3 options of sandwiches. You can add a sauce to your sandwich that ranged from mild to Nashville hot. The sandwich just tasted ok, but my side of coleslaw was really just a side of cabbage with an 1/8 of a tablespoon of sauce. It was not good at all. I've had better slaw at KFC (the king of coleslaw), but I digress..... The service at Daddy's was like I was treated like the red headed step child. When I asked for more sauce in my cabbage, I was told I would have to buy another side. I wasn't impressed with this at all and chose to just eat my cabbage and keep quiet. Although my time at my Step Daddy's Chicken Shack wasn't my favorite, I did eat all my food. The one good thing was the fries. They were flavored good and served hot. Daddy's Chicken Shack. Was super excited to try this new chicken place. It appeared the person taking our order was bored but didn't want to be bothered and upon further review it seemed she was the only one taking orders inside and at the drive up window. The tables in all of the booths were dirty. We ended up sitting at a clean table instead. The chicken fingers were very small maybe an inch and a half. Not a great first impression. This specific location says it opens at 7 am. I went there on its second day grand opening at 840. The door was unlocked but when I walked in, the cashier looked at me weird. I said, "you guys are open right?" She says "no, we don't open for another 20 minutes." Soo left and got breakfast elsewhere. I give it one more try for dinner. I ask the cashier, what time do you guys open in the morning and he says 9. I asked if that was just during their grand opening or will that be always (even though it says 7 on yelp and their website). He said that 9 will be their opening time from here on out. Anyways, I ordered the 303 Colorado burger meal. The fries were amazing and their ranch dressing is the best I've ever tried (the ranch alone warranted the 3 stars). Not a great experience, the food tasted ok. I ordered the chicken sandwich with a side of fries. I asked for a side of ranch and they said they were out and they were making more. Seems crazy that you're out of ranch on a Saturday and not even busy. So I asked for honey mustard instead and after leaving with my food I realized there was no honey mustard in the bag and only one singular napkin. There was a pickle on my sandwich that wasn't even sliced and it was close to a quarter of a whole pickle. Just a giant chunk of pickle. Never seen it before. Would give a one star but maybe the place was just having an off day. More than likely won't be going back. People just don't seem to care anymore. Just opened about 2 months ago. We were curious & since it's Mother's Day & every restaurant was hoppin', we thought we'd try Daddy's for late lunch. Intrigued by the Waffle Daddy Meal & the 303 Daddy Meal which featured Santiago's Green Chili . Upon entering , very friendly Ellie greeted us, asking if it was our first visit. There are many choices from which to choose! So Ellie described some of the favorites which all sounded great. We ended up ordering the Daddy's Slider Flight Combo so that we could get a taste (pun intended) of a variety of sandwiches. In addition we tried all the sauces (9+!!). The French fries were 5 , Seasoned, regular. Crunchy outside, starchy inside ! Can't wait to go again and WILL order the Waffle Daddy Sandwich - Funnel cake style waffle, grilled chicken sandwich topped with powdered sugar with side of syrup . Can't write a follow up to my own review, but the owner can generate a generic response saying we havent had any other complaints about anyone else getting sick........ literally 5 months prior to my complaint is someone saying they got nasty food poisoning. Why the hell would I reach out to the company at said website for any reason? How can you be so corporate with a minimal amount of stores/locations. Sad sad sad. Obviously their is a problem if not even every six months the someone is getting sick. Do your own investigation because something is obviously wrong, but nooooo the health inspector said your fine, the lack of complaints says your fine, even though youre doing about $800 in sales a day lol absolutely pathetic response from someone who does not care for the customers safety. What's even more concerning is reading the other review and off my own experience I could narrow it down to your chicken breasts and maybe the way they are handled or stored. I went by Sunday evening 10 min before close. I normally order door dash but it was to close to closing so i couldn't. I knew it was close to closing as well. The young man on the speaker was so nice, i got to the window and they had to cook out food so it took about 5 min or so but he was not rude, annoyed or anything by me coming so close to closing time. He was so kind and polite. Its hard to find young folks that treat customers that way and i rarely leave reviews but i really wanted to recognize that interaction. The name gives no indication that it's spicy chicken. We're not into heat, so didn't appreciate the unpleasant surprise. The chicken without the batter is nearly tasteless, so you need the heat to avoid the taste. The chicken had a bit of a cleaning product taste to it too. There's no negative ad campaign. Your food is just not that good. The chicken is poorly seasoned and bland, the breading has no flavor or crisp, the pickles are way too thick, the bun is not good, and the portion of chicken in the actual sandwich is so minuscule that half the bites you take are just bun, bread, pickle, and cheese. And that's not to mention the fries. There's a certain taste that frozen fries get when they've been in the freezer too long, are freezer burned, or have been refrozen/reheated multiple times. These fries taste exactly like that and they leave you with that stale aftertaste. Maybe focus on the quality of the food you're putting out instead of what you think your competition is doing. This email and the subsequent visit was such a turn off. Not worth the time or money. read more

I figured I could save a few of you from exiting the freeway and fighting closed busy thoroufares and potholes to try " Daddy's Chicken Shack". Opened just 3 days now (the soft Grand Opening) we decided after a crazy busy Friday to go in and try the advertised "Pressure Cooked Fried Chicken". Okay, let's just say the best part of our meal was the water to wash this terrible tough and tasteless chicken sandwich down. The barely cooked batter was separated and falling off the chicken....but the tough and not seasoned at all breast and the dry roasted old bun couldn't even be saved by the pickles. And, I've never had one Family member leave a fry on their plate, but they each tried and threw away the frozen cheap dry pre seasoned fries without a second thought. No salt, and really they makes elementary cafeteria food look good. I would rather throw money in the barreling winds than ever eat this again. Believe me, we weren't even expecting much to begin with and hardly eat out; as Colorado Springs is not a foodies paradise. Tonight was a rookie mistake for me.
