Checkmate Kennels is a family owned and operated kennel who's commitment is to produce top quality American Bully's, French Bulldogs, and Bull Terriers. As a "show home", we strive to create healthy, show quality Bully's with sound temperaments. Our customer service is second to none. We take time to answer all your questions regarding training, basic care, and nutrition for this new and beloved addition to your family.

History

Established in 2008.

We started out as just loving pet owners of the American Pit Bull Terriers. While shopping for our furry friends in 2008 at a specialty pet store we laid eyes on our first American Bully. We knew we had to have one. We immediately order a puppy from Cali. that was bred by the president of the American Bully Kennel Club or A.B.K.C., as of course we wanted a quality pet. We couldn't be more impressed with his build or his amazing temperament. We soon after found ourselves attending dog shows for this amazing bred and that is what lead us to breeding. We at Checkmate Kennels are dog fanciers, who love to produce and exhibit purebred American Bully's, but of course as much as we would love to , we can't keep them all. With that said, we only breed when we feel as though the parents will produce our next line of show dogs. At this point our dogs have their own look which abides by the standard written for this breed and we are committed to putting health and temperament first in our program

Meet the Manager: Bobby A.

I am a life long dog owner turned dog fancier in a nutshell. I learned later in life that dogs were just "my thing". I am a dog trainer, I board dogs, as well as whelp litters for some of my affiliates. Especially high risk or struggling litters. This business was basically just a by-product of my love for and involvement in this breed, from showing to wanting to preserve and improve the breed. Many Bully breeds get a bad and unwarranted reputation, and I would like to do my part in providing an accurate depiction of this amazing companion breed. The love these dogs give, is unconditional and unbounded, which makes "working" with them, not really work at all. We typically spend from 6 a.m. until 11 p.m. with the dogs, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and it's still our pleasure. Not to mention when we have puppies! Life just doesn't get much better than that :)
