She went to her first training session yesterday and the trainer was truly impressed, given the breeds notoriety for hyperactivity. Don't get me wrong, she and her 5 year old chihuahua mix brother love to play in a ruff and tumble sort of way , and they adore each other, but I had the trainer assess her for becoming a therapy dog when she gets old enough, and Ellie passed with flying colors. She was very calm with no other dogs around, she picked up down and leave-it immediately, and she loves, loves, loves people. She did meet one other dog in the session and, of course, got a little excited, but that's to be expected at 4 months old.
