Very well balanced - I especially liked the stracciatella. Taleggio Capeletti (7/10): A bit too rich and too salty for my tastes. I think this dish just needed something to cut through the richness. Still really good nonetheless. Lumache (8/10): The chew on the pasta is impeccable!! The chew on those mushrooms is also insane. Texture-wise, this dish was a home run. For some reason, I kept getting hints of something resembling boar taint in the sauce flavor itself. Not sure why... I don't think there was meat? I feel like I would've given this dish a 10/10 had it not been for the hint of that flavor. Service was very friendly and fast. The restaurant is small, but the seating didn't feel too tight. Even though I gave it a 5/5, I actually don't know if I would come again. The pasta was very steeply priced for not that much food. Although the capeletti was surprisingly filling, I'd rather feel full on carbs than full on pure butter and cheese.

I'm actually getting salivating while posting this review and looking back at my food pictures. I get the Eggplant & Ricotta Pizza as my appetizer and the Rigatoni Amatriciana as my entree each time I go - because they're consistently amazing. The service is always warm and friendly, and I also love the music playlist they play. Believe the hype & come to Tonino!!

Based on Yelp reviews we came on a Sunday night dinner date as first time customers. The…read morerestaurant did not disappoint. Parking is available across the street and we got the last spot. The place looks like a diner from the 1940s and probably hasn't been renovated or updated significantly since it opened in 1937. It's well-worn but the dining room was clean and comfortable. Since they are famous for their pizza, we ordered a cheese pizza with mushrooms which proved to be tasty. We also got the chicken and eggplant parmesan which was good but not particularly special; above average diner food. Service was excellent from 2 staff that probably have worked at the place for decades. Portions are generous and prices competitive. We'll definitely return!

The interior is from the 1950s. Small, cramped booths, servers that look like they have been there forever, and a great casual family atmosphere, energy. I had a salad with creamy Italian ( delicious), a great big piece of chicken parm (delicious!) that came with a side of spaghetti. Oh yeah. They also serve you with your meal, Scali bread and butter. The food was served hot! I loved it! It seems like most places serve you warm food these days. The food was all delicious, friendly service and a really nice time. I tried to get a few slices to go, but they only serve their famous pizza as whole pies. The pizza is the star of the show here I hear, but I would say everything was the star. Great food, reasonable prices and a great atmosphere! I'll definitely have to go back there for their pizza. Beware if you are a little bit uh, big or Alan Thicke as the booths are very tight, a bit small and a bit cramped for my liking. It may be because I'm a little bit big( 6'2" 240 lbs.). I get it. Places generally weren't made to accommodate people my size. If you have never been here...why not?! Total Class place.

I also decided to try their steak and cheese for the first time, and wow, it was hands down one of the best steak and cheese subs I've had in a long time. It was so good I completely forgot to take pictures, and if you know me, that says a lot! It had the perfect amount of steak, the extra cheese I asked for, and it was seasoned perfectly. To top it off, I called about 23 minutes before closing, and they had no problem taking my order. Great customer service, and I'll definitely be back this week for another steak and cheese.

Last week, we decided to order a whole pie online. I tracked the order and was amazed that the driver was on his way within 20 minutes of receiving the order. We asked ourselves, How is this possible? Unfortunately, the pizza arrived cold. That's how it was possible for the driver to arrive so quickly. Clearly, they sent us a pre-made pizza. Lesson learned: DON'T ORDER CLOSE TO CLOSING TIME. They probably were dying to end their shift so they sent us a cold pie. DISAPPOINTED. The pizza is good but if I return, it will be for a slice, only! I'll keep looking for the right place to order delivery from.

I had been undecided on what to order, between the subs, burgers, and tasty pizzas, I was ready for a slice of it all. I had decided on The Rancher, an action-packed, fully loaded, submarine sandwich filled with chicken, paired nicely with crisps of bacon, as well as drizzles of ranch. I had also made the executive decision of supplementing it with a cold Ginger-Ale. The last touch, was a small order of steak fries, plain. The ambiance was great, the customer service was absolutely delightful. I felt right at home and all of the past cheer and fanfare of the patrons and diners of the restaurant. All in all, it was an enjoyable evening that formed a memory will last a while.
