The chicken tenders contained about 60% less chicken, was very heavy on the breading which was almost over-fried, the meat was dry, and they didn't put in the 2 cups of honey mustard dipping sauce, although they had it on the receipt. Drive-thru is slow, but the food is better than most BC fast food. Lately, McDonald's and Wendy's have really been skimping on toppings unless you order extra everything. That makes for dry, bland sandwiches. Checkers--imagine--puts adequate toppings on. On one occasion I got a crispy chicken sando and when I got it home it was still flaming hot. read more

This is by far the worst fast food restaurant in Battle Creek! I think I'd rather eat from a McDonald's dumpster than the food from the Columbia Ave. Checkers on their best day. The food is always either cold or at best, tepid, and the fries have a slightly sweet sickening smell that is hard to describe. Their "beef" burgers have a granular feel with a lot of hard bits of bone and connective tissue, which means it is the cheapest meat a restaurant can legally serve. All the food here has a sickening greasy coating, even on the burger buns. The beverages are watered down and barely carbonated. Staff is inattentive, and service is extremely slow. You will likely wait 15 minutes or more for your food. If you regrettably choose to get your food from this location, carefully check your order. They are notorious for missing items at this restaurant. During my last (and absolutely last) visit here, I saw the owner of this store yell at a Door Dasher while I was in line. Apparently the owner was blocking the side exit and I could hear the dasher ask a passing employee about who's vehicle it was. She said it belonged to the boss, and went inside. A man came out a minute later and said he was the owner, and the driver was, "just a f***ing dasher and he could squeeze through or f*** off." Shocking behavior from a restaurant owner to a service worker. Makes me sad to think what the employees must have to put up with. If the terrible food and service weren't enough to convince me to never come back, the attitude of the owner towards service workers cinched it for me. AVOID CHECKERS! read more

I have worked for this company in Florida and had a great experience. I loved the food. I was glad to find out there was a Checkers in driving distance from my house. I had to go to Battle Creek and this location was real close so I took the family to go get food. I was greeted by an employee with an attitude as if I was bothering them,but I was hungry and just wanted to feed everyone and go. I tried to place an order but it's hard to do when the person taking your order is more worried about their phone and checking it. I decided to leave and go somewhere else. I'm real disappointed at the way that went Such a shame. I would only suggest that you try another location if you want Checkers. read more

The food here is always terrible. Mushy burger buns, petrified chicken patties and rancid dressings. I wouldn't feed my dog this trash. I only wish the covid could have put this joke of a franchise out of business instead of the mom and pop stores that actually care about the food they put out.. I only started using Yelp to help people not waste their time and money at Checkers. That being said,, Taco bell, Burger King or McDonald's is a better place to spend your money. A few months ago Checkers was my favorite burger joint, everything was quick and delicious. I'm not sure what happened but they must have lost all those employees that try because the last time I went there completely soiled my checkers experience. Being the only car in the drive thru and waiting 7+ minutes for 2 burgers and a shake was a little bad but I let it slide. Not only did they make my burgers wrong, but the buns on one of them was so stale it was almost rock hard. I swing back around and inform them of the problem. The drive thru lady was understanding, waited another 5 minutes for replacement burgers and had literally the exact same issue. Due to frustration I just let them keep all 4 burgers and my money. I was appalled at the poor customer service! My husband ordered the 2 for $5.00 deal, deep sea doubles. When our food was handed out, there was only one sandwich (our bill had come to just over $8.00). When we told the server that there was supposed to be another sandwich, she argued with us, saying that my husband had only ordered one. She made no attempt to make this right with us, she only argued. I run my own business and I would NEVER allow an employee to treat a customer like this. We won't be back! read more

This place is a greasy spoon and very inconsistent. When they first opened the food was great of course to drive people in, use to love the bacon burgers then they went down hill and I ate there like a yr after and was better, now there back to the same bs spent $22 there for the big bacon burgers fries etc and the burgers tasted like they sat out on a warmer like mcdonalds all dry just not good flavor but the worst is there fries they don't properly drain them or something cause they are a greasy mess you will have a hand full of grease and a stomach ache. I am a burger fanatic - it is my favorite sandwich and I have eaten them the world over.  I was in shock as to how good the Baconzilla burger was.  The bacon was crispy with plenty of it,  the burger patties were hot and not greasy, and the produce on the burger was fresh and tasty.  My first time eating there, I will be back. read more

Place is absolute garbage was great when they opened to lure everybody in now it's the sloppyiest fast food restaurant in town, I order chili cheese fries they put fries cheese and a half bottle of ketchup all over the top who the hell eats ketchup all over there fries and doesn't dip I don't even eat ketchup on my fries it's either chili cheese or ranch.
