I purchased a car to give to my son in FL but it needed some work and I was told to take it here…read more The people were super nice, got the car in right away and did the work at a very fair price. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that the work was warranties so if there was a problem he would not have to come back here. Well... after I dropped it off to him a week later it had a small problem. He took it locally in FL and told him he would be reimbursed by calling the 800 number. I stopped in at Carolina Automotive to get a copy of the original receipt and they reimbursed me completely without having to call the number. They were (again) extremely nice and I certainly appreciated not having to put in the claim. I would recommend them to anyone who needs repairs!

WN Watson told my daughter she needed an alternator and a battery when her car wouldn't start. They…read moresaid they put a new battery in to test it and the car wouldn't start. Therefore, the alternator must be bad too. She was even given the alternator output readings of 11V, as opposed to the 14V required. They said it would cost $950 to repair. This is after it has been towed there. If you know anything about cars, you see the faulty logic in this diagnosis. I had the car towed to my daughters home. I easily jumped the car off, took alternator readings of 14.4V. I swapped out the battery for $179 and all is good. It's a shame you can't trust people. Businesses like this give all of them a bad name. Taking advantage of young women. Maybe it was just a bad day. Maybe they actually thought they were right. Either way, a bad experience and I would never go there myself.

I'm speechless and confused on why my experience was so horrible at such a highly rated mechanic. I…read morebrought the car in for a damaged wheel bearing and a transmission fluid drain and refill. They claim to be Lexus experts (my car is a Lexus). Different employees told me different recommendations which was concerning. I dropped the car off and the next day got a voicemail that the car was fixed and ready for pickup. Great, when I finished transferring my belongings back into my car I am told it just went up on the lift to get worked on. No work had been done whatsoever. Lots of miscommunications on their end. Finally, when I schedule an appointment to get the car fixed the following week they tell me they can't get me in/don't have a loner car until the following week because some people blew their engines and their cars were being worked on. I said "forgot it, nevermind" and went to a competitor I used in Greenville before. They fixed my car in less than 24 hours and had the loner car ready. Ridiculous..

GREAT, kind service, and many thanks!

I am begging you NOT to use these scammers. I went in for a simple oil change, long story short,…read moreand came out needing a new transmission. The one trip for an oil change led to two more trips with different 'issues' where I spent a few thousand dollars there in total. On the last trip, they replaced my transmission cooler hoses. The hose was not tightened, therefore, causing ALL of my transmission fluid to leak out. I park on grass, so I never saw the fluid leaking out until it was too late. The mechanic failed to make adequate repairs to my vehicle resulting in my transmission to lock up. I had to have my car towed home because I was driving one day and it just locked up on me. When I called to explain to them it was their fault they just kept saying "I'm sorry, but what do you want me to do?" They would not compensate me or even offer to fix it for free. I was not offered a rental car or any help whatsoever from them. I asked for a copy of their shop liability insurance and was not provided this information. Not to mention all of this happened over a 2 months time span. My jeep has run fine for 6 years and a month after I took it to them, I am without a car. After I got it out of the shop the last time, they called me to assure me everything was fine and stated no safety features were messed up. They have manipulated me, used me, and taken my service for granted. Again, do not use Pickens Auto Repair. Please take your money elsewhere!!!
