OMG best thing ever they charged me $50 In just 25 minutes. The first thing they did was pick I am impressed!

For $375 and only 10 minutes of work, I feel completely taken advantage of. It's a major red flag that there's no pricing listed on their website. When I called to ask why the total came out to $375, the person on the phone couldn't explain anything beyond the service call fee. All they did was unlock a closet door and replace the handle. This company lacks transparency and professionalism, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone read more

Don't trust this company. This is a cover for an upsell scam by Check Point door and lock. I called Bayview Moore locksmith and these guys showed up. I was just ripped off last night for $2,800 to replace a stuck deadbolt. The price started at $395, then it needed to be replaced for $695. Then the part was hard to get but could be retrieved for $1,400 if he left and came back 5 hours later. All fixed in the end, but I felt like I was being hijacked at the door and paid the ridiculous amount just so I get the experience to end. Business practices like this should be illegal. read more

They advertise and provide false lower prices to trap clients. It happens to me they offer their service for $35 and end up sending me an invoice for $344. These people are absolute crooks. Visa should quit accepting any charges from this company that has a "F" rating from the BBB and is not credited with them for failure to respond to complaints. They give you a quote to start the work and charge you 6+ times the quote on your credit card. Read the reviews. 53 gave 1* and 1 gave 5*. Every one of the 53 got screwed just like we did, Quote was for $70 + $20 if it took an extra long time. I guess spending less than 4 minutes in total from the time they started the work and had put the visa charge through and produced the invoice was a lot of work. That works out to $2.00 per second. I wish I could find a job that pays those rates. I guess the $20 is for 10 seconds of work. They charged us $480 for less than 3 minutes of actual work on removing the security club from our car steering wheel. read more

THE REAL OWNER OF SOS LOCKSMITH contacted me and started that this company is giving his business a BAD NAME. THEY ARE FRAUDULANTLY USING THE NAME of a legitimate company!!!! They are not transparent with their pricing. $15 for the call was fine, and then I was quoted $189 by the TECHNICIAN for the service to unlock my son's Silver Acura 3.2 TL 2001-- I gave him my credit card and there were additional fees which HE DID NOT DISCLOSE AT THE TIME! He failed to state: "WE ARE CHARGING $189 PLUS PLUS to your card!" I checked this morning and it cost me $246.00. The end costs were as follows: $189 (vehicle unlock) + $29 (not $15 service fee) & taxes (13%)! I called and spoke to JOHNNY THE CUSTOMER SERVICE and he admitted I was overcharged by the TECHNICIAN and is supposed to send back the difference of the SERVICE FEE. MAKE SURE THEY ARE ENTIRELY CLEAR AND TRANSPARENT ON THE END COSTS. Otherwise-- BUYER BEWARE!! read more

I locked my keys in my car. The driver came in good time, but he DID NOT quote me the price before doing the work. He only had to pry the door open a little and unlock the door. It took him seconds. I blindly paid $352!?!? Where do you get off charging so much. I have now called the same number several times to ask about it. they keep asking me the same questions and tell me that they will tell their manager to call me. this was back in March 2024 and I'm still waiting June 2024. an absolute off and absolutely horrible customer service. I wish I could give zero stars. read more

Terrible, Had them out for a non for profit youth center for a jammed door and they said they would be back next day to fix. I had them replace a deadbolt in the process. I was billed over $500 for 15min work after making me wait 1.5 hours for them. Had I known of the cost I would have never proceeded. They later told me to find someone else to deal with the real issue we had. Absolute worst experience!!!! read more

Biggest scam ever. They charged me $452.00 to drill my LSDA lock. When he didn't even try to pick at it first.

Last Friday a lock at one of my outside doors broke and a technician was sent to my home. Upon checking the damaged lock it became obvious that it needed to be replaced. It was not until he had removed the old lock that he told me that the new lock he had available was of medium quality and would cost me $ 385.00 plus tax, plus an installment fee. The bill for this simple service was over $ 500.00. This is a total rip off for a lock that probably is worth no more than $ 50.00 read more

Total scammers. I cancelled their $1100 charge on my Visa. The only thing professional about them is acting like thieves. Buyers beware of these scoundrals. Don't fall for them trying to pick the lock for 30 seconds and then charging $495 to drill and then another $300 for a lock and $75 for a key. read more

SCAMMERS I called to change 4 lock keys for my home. And when I called they said it would be 15$ and the technician will tell me how much for each door and I can agree or not. When he came 2 hours late; he was litteraly asking 125$-150$ per door. Then I said no I don't want their service because it's too expensive. Then he said okay but I have to give him 15$+35$ (50$) because he came here and tell me how much it would cost. I refuse and he threatens to send a notice to my door to pay $ 75 even if he litteraly didn't do anything for me read more

Why can't I do 0 stars? Or negative stars. Said he couldn't pick my lock then told me he'd have to drill it out and it will cost me between 345 to 495. Plus a lock about 180. Bucks wtf. I told him to piss off. Then got my friend that has a cheap lock kit thingy he got off amazing and he popped by 2hrs later. Screwed around with it for about 20mins but got it opened. Lol. They xan say I'm a competitor doing this but I have video proof of his interaction. I'm going to post it on YouTube. Axxhole. read more

BIGGEST SCAMMERS EVER! My husband called Check Point Door and Lock this morning because the key for the door of our basement storage room broke in the lock. They charged $500.25!! He literally took 15 minutes to do it. I called the office when I heard and asked outright what they charge for removing a broken key and was told $75.00. I was also told that the labour would be $50.00 per hour. Instead, they charged us $135 to remove the broken key and $215.00 for a new lock (which I've checked on at the Home Depot it is only $26.00). I feel sick. The technician called back and told me that it was so expensive because it was a 'special' door (it's definitely NOT. It's in the basement) and that he put a 'special' lock on it. Again, it was a $26.00 lock. We got completely screwed. I wish I had seen these reviews before he called them. We will be escalating this to at least get some of our money back. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more

On November 20, 2021, the key to the door of my business got stuck in the lock. I was out of town and the employee on shift could not get the key out so we called a lock smith. On the phone, they said the service call would be $75. When they arrived, they said that this is a high security lock and we must change both the lock and Adams Rite because the key is completely siezed. I was out of town and had no other choice so decided to go ahead. They told me that the new high security lock they are installing would not get stuck like the old one. They told me because its an advanced lock, it would cost $545 (which I thought was way too high) and the adams rite would be $400. In total, with the taxes and service fee, I paid $1220. This was way more than I ever expect to spend on a lock but I figured it's an investment so this would never happen again. It is now September 2022 (10 months later) and the key has now gotten stuck in the lock that they installed and said would never get stuck. I called them and they stated that their warranty is only 3 months and there is nothing they can do. I reminded them that they said this wouldn't happen with the new lock and they just kept saying there is nothing they can do. I started looking into how to get the key out of the lock and it turns out, there is a simple solution of pressing down on the cylinder as you pull the key out. I tried it and it worked. I went back to the old lock which still had the key stuck in it and they claimed was seized and pressed on the cylinder and the key came right out. So clearly the key wasn't seized and I was just scammed into paying $1200 for nothing. read more

I had a issue with my lock and these guys didnt even bother checking the lock. They told me that they had no choice but to drill it and ended up charging me $1200. MOST HORRIBLE SERVICE IVE EVER RECIEVED. I WOULD GIVE A 0 STAR IF POSSIBLE A SCAM. Customer service absolutely disgusting, unfriendly and RUDE. I got charged for a service that was incomplete. When I tried calling to rectify the situation and discuss law we can fix the problem. I got yelled at multiple times and told to "stop calling, no one is going to help me". I got scammed out of 180$. I wanted a spare key which allowed me to unlock and lock my car and I explained to the agent before sending a technician that my car did not come programmed like that but I read that they are able to which he agreed. They sent an outsourced technician to fix the problem which he didn't because the agent didn't relay that my car did not come programmed wasted over 1hr 30 min of my time and my money. Not the technician fault because before sending him out they should have fully explained what I needed done, not just to make a quick buck. Btw the 180 was for a key, which I cannot use. BEWARE, take your money somewhere else. AND MAY I REMIND YOU IVE NEVER ONCE WROTE A HORRIBLE REVIEW IN MY LIFE. read more

Stay away! I hope this review prevents someone else from getting scammed by this horrible company. My elderly parents called to get their lock changed, and were quoted approx. $300. Once the technician arrived, he said it would be approx. $400 plus labour. When asked how much the labour would cost, he wouldn't give an answer. After asking for an approx. hourly rate, he was still unable to answer. Big red flags, but my parents are good, hardworking people who trust in others. Upon completion, the total was $680! This was after about 40min of work, with a poor quality (plastic?!) lock installed. This is outsourced to multiple people/companies so you can't even get the name or location to verify. I don't know how they aren't shut down after all of these complaints. read more

I live in Canada and this company charged me $397.65 for removing a simple lock. I had a single cylinder deadbolt that I needed open and I didn't want to risk breaking it myself. I accidentally left my keys inside the house and my wife was an hour away at work with the extra set. I called these guys and they literally told me twice that they couldn't pick it. I have no experience picking locks and I certainly didn't want to try myself. It took this guy 6 minutes to drill through the lock. Not only was the wood around the deadbolt charred and chipped, but they also told me it would be about $80 for a replacement. Of course I said absolutely not because I could just go buy one at Home Depot for half that price. Totally unprofessional and it wasn't until about a month later that I saw the CBS review on YouTube. I had to leave a review after my experience was quite similar to theirs. I hope they get their act together and stop ripping people off. read more

On July 1st, 2021 I called Checkpoint Door & Lock to come change the lock on my house. I had a domestic situation and needed it changed immediately despite the Statutory Holiday. Only the deadbolt was replaced on my front door. The technician came and it was replaced within an hour. I paid the technician $479.12 by my Visa Credit Card and I was emailed the receipt. Two days after installation when I was unlocking my door the internal mechanism of the lock failed and jammed. I called the company to request a service technician come out to fix it as in my emails it states a 3 Year Service Warranty and a 5 Year Lock Warranty. I was am unable to lock my house now. When I called the company they said a technician would contact me when he was on his way. I never received a call. I called the company numerous times and was hung up on, sworn at, and no one has ever come to fix the broken lock. Had to put 1 Star but checkpoint lock is 0 star rating. The worst company/experience ever. I have a fob control /key for my car so its 2 in 1. and my child accidentally locked the doors from the inside upon coming out the vehicle, meanwhile my phone and things Were in the car and the car was still running. and I had the fob on my persons In The store. Anywho long story short the computer mechanism went into theft mode and the doors wouldn't open for nothing. not With the key, fob , or panic button nothing worked. So my husband called and they quoted him $50. They got to me and told me because it's a smart car they have to charge more. At this point we're cold and my son is terrified only 5 yrs old because he's thinking the worse. So I agreed to 189 but when I seen him open the door like any other locked car and did nothing special I became skeptic. When he finished I told him to follow me to the bank 2 mins away, He went on to tell me they didn't take debit only visa debit and MasterCard. He then told me I can't go with him to his car due to COVID and he would bring me my card when finished. I tried to check my bank transaction as this happened but because it was after 6pm it wouldn't show on my online banking til the next day. To my surprise instead of him solely charging me 189 he charged me $215. When my husband called to complain of an over charge the dispatch gave us a number to America and they were dumbfounded of my situation because I'm in Canada. Then when we called back the so called "technician" he tried to play as if he wasn't an employee of the company and we had the wrong number. This is beyond bullshit and the supervisor from the company still hasn't returned my call back or sent a email. THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN BY THE BBB. THEY DIDNT EVEN GIVE ME A RECEIPT AS WELL AS THEY COULDVE TAKEN MY VISA DEBIT CARD INFORMATION TO USE ELSEWHERE WHO KNOWS, BUT DO NOT NOT NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE read more
