Of course they must have taken a first round earlier as I arrived 30 min after they opened... My work day is quite busy and I'm impatient by nature so I did not appreciate standing around for 40 minutes just to wait to order. Then I hear her telling someone it's another 40 minutes for their food. I don't expect it to be quick to be honest, but would have wanted the opportunity to place an order. I was getting angrier and angrier by the second. They need to be more upfront and post on their truck that they take orders in phases so expect to wait 30min + to place your order. ESPECIALLY when you come downtown ... because majority of us are in the middle of our workdays and not able to spend our entire hour just waiting to order. It's inconsiderate and downright rude. I ended up walking away just as they were starting to take orders again because I don't want to support them and I don't have time to wait another 40 minutes when I've already spent over 45 minutes out of the office just waiting to order (plus my walk time). No food (especially heart attack inducing food) is worth that. Arghhh I can't recall the last time I've been so angry and irritated. I always say expectations are everything. I mistook the guarana as Guyana (guava in Spanish). But guarana is a Brazilian fruit as I learned after I started drinking it. They were both enjoyable and good to drink while eating tacos. As every Mexican restaurant SHOULD. I'm exhausted with bougie Mexican spots. I want home style. I want comfort. Second, BYOB. Nuff said. If you add homey comfort with BYOB you are almost a home run as long as... The food is good. And it is. Rice and beans with mix and match enchiladas or multiple burritos, tacos, carnitas, fajitas, chimichangas... you name it, to choose from. As I said, a standard, decent enchiladas plates is not the easiest meal to come by on Oahu, and it just happens to be my number one comfort food. It's something I haven't eaten before, so I can't say if it's better or worse than other places, but it was something different to try - if you like spicy, it has a spicy after-bite to it. Instead go to Kai's. Great prices (you don't have to worry about getting ripped off) and their Pastele ingredients are unique in texture. I'm really not even sure if they were made out of the traditional banana base. But i don't really care because they were just so awesome! They offer a a few different types Pastele with different types of meat all at different spice levels. Also several other peurto rican dishes which i still have yet to try are available.
