TLDR: Andy and his crew are great, his prices are super competitive, and their work is fantastic. I called Andy for a quote, and he came right on schedule, the same day. Right out the gate I liked Andy more than the other 4 roofing companies I had come out. He was communicative, wasn't pushy, or sales-y. He was transparent about what his ballpark of the cost and timeline for the job would be - both of which were significantly lower than any of the other companies. His price was HALF what some of these other guys wanted to charge for a major roofing job (tear off shingles, remove shake roofing, install plywood, and re-shingle). Not to mention, these other companies tried to jack up other things like manufacturers warranties, and other nonsense just to squeeze more from the job. He said his crew would show up at 7am, they were at my house at 6:30am ready to work. They were respectful of the property and my neighbors, easy to communicate with about my dogs, cleanup, and schedule, and worked very hard - and fast! Start to finish the job was 4 days, with another day lost for city inspection. The other companies tried to sell a two-week job at least. Every day the jobsite was left clean, and his crew spent almost 45 minutes blowing down all the surfaces and sweeping up after teardown, which impressed me. I found Andy through my wonderful plumber, Luis at Century Rooter, who told me this is an up and coming family business. Supporting small family businesses is important to me. Messaged them through Instagram and got a reply within minutes. We talked on the phone just a little while later, and the next day Andy came by to give me a quote. Super friendly, easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and kindly helpful because this was my first time getting a new roof, Andy did the measurements and emailed me the same night. The price was more than fair, and he beat the other quotes I had significantly. He was able to get the permits and get started within four days of our first meeting, and by some twist of fate, they were able to start the next day. The team is fast and efficient, communicative, and super nice. There was a threat of rain halfway thru the project, so the crew came out with tarps and spent a couple of hours making sure the whole house was covered. It did rain a little, and everything held up perfectly. The finished roof is beautiful and exactly what we wanted. This guy wanted to charge me $2500 for a small leak that was around the chimney on top of the roof. And supposedly a missing part around the chimney. Didn't show me any pictures of the problem just gave me a quick quote. I had another company come by got on the roof took pictures of the problem (which was a Small leak around the chimney NO PARTS were missing) put some sealer around the chimney and didn't charged me a penny for it. Hired Andy to build my new roof almost 2 months ago. As of today I only have a pile of tiles that have been delivered and no one installing them. He does not respond to phone calls or text messages and now sends all my calls to voicemail. Was supposed to come last weekend to install and did not show up, then was supposed to come during the week and again no call, no show. If he doesn't come this week then I will have to get someone else to finish the work he started and was contracted to do, then I will have to file a claim for damages through Yelp with their service guarantee as well as a complaint and damages through the CA CSLB licensing board.
