Our conversation was effortless, and being able to shift my focus onto someone so kind and grounded was exactly the kind of happy distraction I didn't know I needed. There were a few people who came in while I was there, hoping for walk-ins, and Lauren treated every one of them with kindness--even while making it clear, without words, that she was fully present with me. She held eye contact, stayed grounded, and somehow made me feel seen the whole time. This location is conveniently located right off of I-10. They have plenty of parking and it's not In a congested plaza like many other nail salons. I was there for less than half an hour and left with a lovely nude matte gel manicure just like I wanted. It's perfect for those military girls. Reception is always kind, professional & friendly. The stylist I'd seen for years left the area. I drove by this salon all the time & decided to give it a try. The first several appointments went well, until one day Sierra cut my already short hair super short, even with the picture open on my lap. After about 4 months, it grew out & I got back to the style I wanted. I didn't go back & make a public fuss about it. I simply & quietly texted her to let her know this cut was much too short. She insisted that she followed the previous cut, but... did you? Really? The style finally restored, I went in a week ago for a cut & color touch up. No need to dry & style it, I left the salon with wet hair. When it dried, my medium-brown hair was coal black! Again, I quietly texted her to tell her it's much too dark & it will need to be lifted at my next appointment. Her next text was defensive & didn't make much sense, telling me this was her way of treating the faded ends. I explained that it didn't work. The ends are still lighter & the right side is significantly lighter than the left. It took several days, but she finally returned the text saying I can come back in to lift it, but she wouldn't color it ever again. Additionally, she has cancelled my appointment in August & I should find a new stylist. She made it sound like the super short cut months ago was my fault & somehow, this extra dark & uneven color is also my fault. Moral of the story: High Maintenance is a lovely, welcoming salon & I would recommend you try it. But if you happen to get assigned to Sierra, do yourself a big favor & request a different stylist.
