He used the medium length to still have some of the old balayage and guide for making a great money shot that framed my face nicely. The experience was amazing. He was friendly, we talked about travel and places to eat/drink around the area. He gave me water bottle when I asked and he even lent me a charger for my phone. I didn't plan it--I just saw the salon, took a breath, and asked if they had space for a walk-in. Lauren, the owner, was the only one in that morning. She had just finished with a client earlier than expected and somehow made room for me without hesitation. I didn't ask for anything complicated--just a cut and style--but what I got was more than a haircut. The salon itself is clean, modern, and airy--comfortable in a way that puts you at ease without trying too hard. But it was Lauren's presence that made the real difference. From the start, she was warm and easy to talk to, and she genuinely welcomed my questions about her life, her business, and her travels. Our conversation was effortless, and being able to shift my focus onto someone so kind and grounded was exactly the kind of happy distraction I didn't know I needed. There were a few people who came in while I was there, hoping for walk-ins, and Lauren treated every one of them with kindness--even while making it clear, without words, that she was fully present with me. She held eye contact, stayed grounded, and somehow made me feel seen the whole time. To be honest, I had a pretty bad haircut experiences a few months prior, and I came in that morning carrying a lot of anxiety. But Lauren's calm, down-to-earth vibe put me at ease in a way I didn't expect. She didn't overdo it--she was just authentically herself. That alone made a huge impact. And yes--my hair looked amazing. I only wish I had asked for styling tips so I could recreate the magic at home. When I left, I felt like a different version of myself--lighter, calmer, more myself. Lauren even recommended a nearby spot where I could work remotely, and her suggestion was perfect. Every piece of that day unfolded better because of her. I live in New Orleans, but I'm genuinely considering making the hour drive just to have Lauren cut my hair again (next time, with an appointment). I wholeheartedly recommend her--not just for her skill, but for who she is.

The design, especially the "S" swirl, came out very messy and uneven instead of clean like the picture. Two of my nails are also noticeably crooked, which is really disappointing after paying for a full set. The experience itself also wasn't great. The person doing my nails was pretty aggressive, which made the appointment uncomfortable. They spent a lot of time on their phone, and the salon felt very disorganized. It was also extremely cold inside, there was no music playing, and although there were TVs, only two were on and nothing was playing, making the atmosphere feel awkward. Overall, I don't feel like I received the quality or experience I was expecting. I hope they improve both their customer service and attention to detail.

Reception is always kind, professional & friendly. The stylist I'd seen for years left the area. I drove by this salon all the time & decided to give it a try. The first several appointments went well, until one day Sierra cut my already short hair super short, even with the picture open on my lap. After about 4 months, it grew out & I got back to the style I wanted. I didn't go back & make a public fuss about it. I simply & quietly texted her to let her know this cut was much too short. She insisted that she followed the previous cut, but... did you? Really? The style finally restored, I went in a week ago for a cut & color touch up. No need to dry & style it, I left the salon with wet hair. When it dried, my medium-brown hair was coal black! Again, I quietly texted her to tell her it's much too dark & it will need to be lifted at my next appointment. Her next text was defensive & didn't make much sense, telling me this was her way of treating the faded ends. I explained that it didn't work. The ends are still lighter & the right side is significantly lighter than the left. It took several days, but she finally returned the text saying I can come back in to lift it, but she wouldn't color it ever again. Additionally, she has cancelled my appointment in August & I should find a new stylist. She made it sound like the super short cut months ago was my fault & somehow, this extra dark & uneven color is also my fault. Moral of the story: High Maintenance is a lovely, welcoming salon & I would recommend you try it. But if you happen to get assigned to Sierra, do yourself a big favor & request a different stylist.

After i was in the chair and selected my style, she repeatedly asked me if i "really wanted to go that short"in a snarky tone. Wouldn't recommend.

Out of respect, I'm not going to mention who took care of me but when I was being shampooed, she got just as much in my ears as she did on my scalp because she made no effort to go around my ears. That was strike one. Strike two was the fact that even though I had spoken with this person earlier in the day, she never mentioned that she only accepted cash, which most people now a day's don't carry. Thankfully, I just happened to have some on me but what would she have done if I didn't? As I stated, I'm new to the area and it was my very first visit. I doubt very seriously if she would have agreed to let me find an atm, which would have charged me a fee because I haven't switched banks as of yet. Strike three was the fact that she took it upon herself to decide where to part my hair without asking me, her paying customer, what my preference was (my back was to the mirror so I couldn't see what she was doing). I still haven't decided if I'm going to go back to this particular salon or if I'll keep looking so wish me luck.
