Worst phone connectivity and data service I've ever experienced. Calls constantly drop, even while sitting at home, and the customer service is absolutely terrible. I switched from Rogers and realized on the very first day that it was a huge mistake. They locked me into a 3-month period, and despite multiple complaints, nothing was ever resolved. Once they take your payment, they seem to stop caring completely. No refunds, no compensation, and no effort to fix the issues. I spent hours emailing their support team, answering all their questions, and sending screenshots as proof. They kept giving me hope that I would receive a refund or compensation, but after wasting so much of my time and energy, they ultimately refused to do anything. This has been one of the most frustrating experiences I've had with a telecom company. Beware -- I would strongly recommend avoiding Chatr services. read more

STAY AWAY. They will take your money, tell you they're putting it on your account, and then the balance will disappear. There is no phone number, no email address, no livechat, and in-person customer service is as useless as a no-mouth dog in a frisbee contest. You can't complaint to the BBB because Chatr is too shitty a company to be registered with them. I've tried complaining on Reddit, and then Chatr banned me from the sub. The best part is they constantly tell you over and over to register, and then log in, even when you're already logged in. Chatr is the worst company in the world the people at kiosks don't know nothing the network is very bad I do uber and the network just cutout and I couldn't complete the delivery and there is no one to talk to And just because I changed the card I have to go somewhere to add the new card chatr is a piece of shit the people who work for chatr are full of shit and chatr is prepaid which is full of the worst kind of shit you can imagine period now I think I have switch to another company which is post paid period I will not be going back to this shit company period. The worst customer service I have ever experienced; in 57 yees! With other bad experiences ive faced, they at least spoke with me and/or provided something/anything! Below is a copy of the email that I just sent to Chatr (Rogers) about the issue I'm dealing with right now. I certainly hope I'm not the only one who finds this quite incredible. I hope you'll take the time to read it. My apologies for being slightly long winded otherwise known as having verbal diarrhoea when I write. It's absolutely astounding to me that I have not received an update of any sort whatsoever. On May the 4th, my payment date, I attempted to pay my bill online through My Chatr. Quite surprisingly, the payment (using my mother's BMO Mastercard, with her permission and authority) was not accepted and my cellular service was not reactivated. Even worse, the system provided nothing but a single word explanation. That word being "Fraud"! I have literally been accused of committing fraud! I don't think you could be any more disrespectful and insulting. And to provide nothing to me in terms of an explanation! Nothing. Even after 4 days; absolutely not one word! And the topper; you're completely wrong! It is now May the 8th. I have been accused of committing fraud, my cellular service has not been reactivated, and I have been given no explanation... nothing at all. One phone call would answer any questions about the credit card and would end the unnecessary investigation. I assume that's the issue. I can only assume since I have not been given the common courtesy of an explanation or anything else... COMMON COURTESY! This is disgusting. My mom is going to drive to Chatr tomorrow and pay the bill with her credit card... the same card I was using. I'm basically going to copy and paste this as a review of Chatr on Google and elsewhere. I'm actually followed for my reviews. My last one has over 10 thousand views to date. I'm sure this one will do well too. I attempted to pay through the automated phone service and was again denied. I have sent 3 or 4 emails requesting assistance and basically demanding to have my service reactivated. Nothing has been done and the only thing I've been told is that the matter is with the IT department. Why, I don't know and I was not told. Apparently nothing can be done without hearing from the IT Department first. It can't be just me who finds this incredible. Most incredible is that Chatr has given me no information whatsoever. Even though I haven't had cellular service for four days. This is the poorest example of customer service I have ever experienced. And that's 57 years of experience. It will be interesting to see if I'm given an apology. I also would expect some form of compensation. Based on what I've experienced to date, I won't hold my breath for either. No support, no effort, no communication. Tried to switch providers from Koodo to Chatr, I've been trying to set up my esim for 9 days. I thought it might just be taking a bit longer for my number to be ported out as it can take minutes to several days (previous time I did it, it took less than 10 minutes). At day 3, I drove to my nearest store (1 hour drive there and 1 hour drive back), they did some things on my phone and said it will be up and running and everything is sorted out, I drove home and waited another few days and it is still not working, been on SOS since I transferred from the previous provider 9 days ago. Trying to contact them online is absolutely useless, I got a ticket number and they emailed me back, but the customer support has no idea what they are doing and so many different reps are replying so I've answered the same questionare about 10 times and I'm repeating myself about 20 times. No one can seem to fix it, so I said I would like to cancel and get a refund as the service has not been active at all and they refused. So now I have to drive 2 hours AGAIN for them to get my service online, this time I will be waiting at the store until it is working and then I'm gonna switch back to my previous provider. My ZTE flip-phone with its Chatr Mobile monthly contract (I've had it for over a year and will be locked in for another one!) has proved worse than useless. I bought it for use in emergencies only, but apparently if the account is not used frequently, even though still fully charged, the phone becomes inactive. At best, its use is not intuitive (to put it mildly). It has failed EVERY TIME I truly needed it - including today, when my partner is in the hospital. Thanks for the extortion racket! Is it asking too much for even a low-end phone to make and receive calls without needing a tutorial? I don't care how sweet your sales staff are, unless one of them can cancel my contract. I bought a FLIP phone and paid for a SIM card. The number worked 1 month, then the 2nd month when I went to top it up, it said "Account not found" online. Tried a few times, then went into the Chatr store where I bought it, and they couldn't figure it out, so said I'd have to call customer service. Waited online for over 2 hours for them to finally answer, they didn't know why it wasn't showing up and said they would "escalate" it. 2 weeks later I get a response saying my account was deactivated after 58 days. But that's a lie, it was deactivated after 30 days because I tried to load up for the next month. Now they say there's nothing they can do. I will never deal with Chatr again. read more

if i can give minus 500 hundred stars to chatr I would. this is the worst company i have ever made a deal with in my entire life, and not just on phone companies, in any company of any sort. In I still am not able to get them off my back and make them stop charging me for more money. I went to a roger's store in montreal, there, one of the guys recommended opening an account with chatr, they offered 5GB and a bonus of 35GB for the first 24 months, for 45 dollars. We did it, and after two days the basic 5GB of the plan were all used (i guess my phone did some extra syncing) And i called several times to understand why isn't the 35GB bonus is not kicking in so I can use them, at that time my phone had literally no internet at all, or extremely slow that barely works. Each time i called, they told me they had a long line of new customers and that the bonus might take up to 72 hours to kick in. I waited, with no internet meanwhile. After 4-5 days, I called again, the woman told me someone have deleted my bonus by mistake, and that there is no one available that can help me, and they will call in another 48 hours, and after i insisted for about an hour, they gave me another 2 GB for the weekend. Needless to say they never called, and I got an email that says "YOUR NEW PLAN IS CONFIRMED - 5GB WITH A BONUS OF 10 GB" - meaning they have changed my plan, without talking to me. Of course that bonus never kicked in either. And the cherry on top - at that time i decided i'm going to not pre-pay anymore to chatr and just go to another company and do the whole thing all over again. BUT THEN i got a text message, from a number you can't call back saying - "Sucess! You've enrolled in auto-pay using credit card eding (my last for digits of my credit card), your payment of 45$ + tax will be taken on the 4th of each month. Right now again I have no internet, two different changes in my account has happened without even asking me! I don't think the second one is even legal! I didn't commit to pay them every month, I only agreed to a pre-paid plan, with bonuses they never delivered. Its so crazy, they are practically scammers. Oh and I keep getting shady text messages from snapchat even though I never had snapchat, since I got my new number from chatr. Just horrific. read more

Chatr hidden policies abuse our right Service is so bad and Mobile data is so slow. I contacted Chatr to inform them about bad service and they did not do anything. When I decided to find another provider they refused to refund me the last bill although I port out 2 days after they withdraw the billing amount. I submitted a complaint to CCTS and for over 3 months of investigation I gain nothing because of hidden policies and they told me that "Chatr does not guarantee its services, per its Terms of Service". After four years, I decided it was time to free myself from the evil clutches of the iPhone/contract lifestyle. I'd heard a couple friends switched over to Mobilicity, so I thought I'd take a look. This store was small, straight-forward and no pressure. I really liked that. Their selections of phones is modest, but flows really well from super cheap burner phone to highest-end Androids. I decided on a middle-ground and got a little Android on sale for $120. The resolution on the screen isn't great and it'll take some getting used to (it's not an iPhone! Boohoohoo), but I'm pretty happy with it. I got the promo deal of $40/month for UNLIMITED EVERYTHING. Woohoo! 'Though my phone may be a dink, it's still Smart and it'll certainly not be driving me into the poorhouse. All in all, the service was great - he was really easy to work with, and they both even laughed when I made stupid jokes. I didn't feel pressured or uncomfortable at all and they were really honest about the pros and cons. All around, I definitely recommend them to anyone considering switching! So far I haven't made many calls so I'm not sure about coverage, but I guess that's an issue for the company, not this retail location. read more

5 stars for service: Sam was very very helpful in all aspects and made the sale extra sweet. Great salesperson - not pushy, informative, and genuine. When I went back to cancel service and return the phone (see reasons below), he was understanding and happy to help. I also spoke to phone customer service to get a refund cheque and the rep was pleasant to deal with as well. This is all something Rogers can learn from. I'm in the market to get my first ever smart phone (yes, it's about time to bid adieu to my dinosaur flip Krzr). Mobilicity has great rates for basically unlimited everything, so I was intrigued but wasn't feeling convinced on their coverage/reception. To test the waters, you can try their services for 7 days (with some limitations on talking time, text, and data) for a full refund if unsatisfied. Over the past 6 days, this was my experience: I travel throughout the city (car and Skytrain) from North Surrey to Vancouver. Based on the few calls I made, good reception and talking quality outside. Inside some buildings and underground (like Pacific Centre), reception can be limited to none. I was carrying my Rogers phone at the same time, and Mobility always had less bars - as expected. The phone itself (Nexus S) has a phone signal monitor and it's clear that there are limited reception gaps all. the. time. Like every 2 minutes or less, you'd experience some limited reception. There appears to be dead zones within the city. I was at Van Dusen Garden one night and it said Canadian roaming. It happened again at the Pacific Centre Blenz. My dad said one time he called and it asked whether he wants to complete a long distance call (the phone was located in North Surrey at the time). Errrrr, wth? I did not use data during this time, so no comments on speed. You have to buy your phone up front, but you save on the monthly bills and no contract to sign. However, the reception/coverage is clearly not up to par. At this point, I decided that I'm willing to pay a little extra for reliable reception - cuz I'd be super annoyed otherwise. Kudos on the excellent customer service. But alas, the shopping continues! read more

Frankly, their not even worth one star(or even 1/2 of a star),it's not even like one this one store in general; the whole idea of Mobilicity is crap...I waited on hold for 48 minutes before they picked up then when I asked my question they said to call a certain Mobilicity store, so I did. And after about an hour when the store FINALLY answered, they told me to call customer support, so I called customer support again and they said my question was important to them but that I would have to find out the answer myself. And the stupid Mobilicity doesn't even allow you to make a hotspot, thats just sad and honestly I think that whole store should just go to hell. read more
