We were planning on getting the BT21 Kosmos but when we got there we saw a sign that said they were out of one of the ingredients for the drink. They did still have the purple pockets available though. The girl working the cash was very pleasant and helpful. We ordered a matcha strawberry latte and a peach tea. There were a few people ahead of us waiting for their orders but with 3 people making drinks it didn't take long at all. The matcha flavour in the matcha strawberry latte wasn't too strong, I could taste strawberries and there was still a good amount of sweetness even though I had only gotten 50% sugar. read more

Love seeing a Chatime in Durham! We came here a little bit after the Lunar New Year and were worried that they wouldn't have the BT21 drink or the purple pockets anymore. They had signage indicating that they were out of a component of the drink (the ingredient that gives it the pretty shimmer). We asked about the purple pockets and the employee said they still had them in stock. This was important for our order since ordering 2 large drinks = 1 pocket! They usually have a drink of the month though which I did see on the app but didn't seem to be advertised anywhere in the store which was a little confusing. We didn't have to wait too long to get our drinks and we were able to communicate that we didn't need straws since we brought our own reusable ones. read more

We prefer to order online, but the system wasn't working for us so we tried calling to place an order. Our first call went unanswered, and when we called a second time someone eventually picked up. They refused to take our order and said we had to order in person. We arrived to find a long lineup, and even after we placed our order we had a long wait for our drinks. The horrible service wasted a lot of our time just to get some mediocre bubble tea. The only thing this store had going for it was the lack of bubble tea options in Durham, so the new Gong Cha in Whitby has rendered it obsolete. read more

I went in and ordered. The location only accepts online orders. The service was pretty good otherwise, the location was easy to get to in Durham. The main things I judge Bubble tea by (apparently nobody calls it Boba here in Toronto?) is the texture and consistency of the tapioca and of course the flavours and variety of liquid available. With regards to the team/slushie this place is decent. I do miss having lavender milk tea - a personal favourite in California but nobody seems to have it. I guess Hokkaido is good enough. It was a bit sweet but it tasted good. The tapioca was well done, it had the squishy texture without being too hard or too soft or sticky. It added the right texture and consistency which I think Bubble Tea should have. I think this place could be a place I would return to on a semi-regular basis. I would recommend it. read more

Drinks are decent and good. During COVID-19: This location only accepts orders from food apps (pick-up/delivery). They had a buy 2, get 1 free promo during National BBT day. I had tons of issues with the website and app. It took me approximately 45 mins to put the order through. It was a bit frustrating because it won't let me check out. I called the location to see if they can honour the promo if I order by phone and they said that they aren't accepting orders on the phone. The website kept lagging and crashing (most likely due to the amount of orders they are getting). Still, they should have alternatives or they should be able to do it in their POS system (it doesn't make a difference if you're ordering a promo in-person.. there should be a code for discounts). I sent screenshots to Cha Time IG and they didn't provide a solution. The same thing happened to my friend and many others (the comments from their IG were people having issues with the server so they're not able to claim the promo code). Overall, it was a frustrating experience. It felt like it could be better in terms of handling the situation and providing alternatives especially if they anticipate that they are going to be extremely busy. read more

At this point 3 stars as its still getting organized on time management and cleanliness. The have tight space, the lining up takes space towards the washroom, and seating arrangements are parallel to the cash so when your waiting your also very close to customers also seated by the cash. Their cleanliness is wipe down area when water or liquid is spilled, with what seems with same cloth its always wet, I came a few times and I was sad to see when the owner is not around that most of their personal drinks are situated by the area where your drinks are wiped down and handed to you, to be honest big yuck. I will give them a another chance, and the owner seems to very attentive when you bring up issues, yet it should be brought up. hope to change my views soon. read more

Pros: it's Chatime! Their drinks are delicious! Clean space, plenty of parking, friendly staff Cons: service is on the slow side (hopefully it's only because they're still getting their bearings), they don't accept Vicinity rewards like other locations do (huge bummer for me since I have a good number of points to redeem). Another bubble tea shop has replaced Chatime as my favorite so the only thing that keeps me coming back here is the Thai milk tea series and its convenient location. This place has always been busy but always consistent with good service and drinks from my experience. With covid, I didn't want to order in store so I used uber eats to order pickup. I pretty much just walked in, asked for my drink with the code from uber and was out the door in less than a minute. All this while people were standing around waiting for their orders indoors. I highly recommend ordering for pickup, its safer and quicker. read more

Look, I like Chatime. It's good stuff, but this location in Ajax is sllllllooooooowwwww. There were approximately 10 people ahead of me in line when I got in, 30 minutes later and there was still 5 people ahead of me. This isn't the first time it's happened, I've endured 30 minute waits before at this location. I've been to other locations in Markham and Toronto and even when there are 10 people in line it generally moves quick and I'll wait 20 minutes max. But yeah - 30 minutes and only five people got their orders in? Hard pass. read more
