I'd buy another camper just to be seasonal. We missed weekend activities due to only being here Mon-Fri but still a lot of kid activities!! They highlight the fun trails for golf cart rides, the stocked ponds for fishing, and the overall peaceful and enjoyable experience for families. Also like the friendly and attentive staff who go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome.

The entire property is amazing. Missy and Allan are on- site to help with any support that you may need. The property is pristine, as well as all of the accommodations. Kathy who owns this amazing property is very easy to communicate with. The house and containers have everything you would ever want in a gathering place. Because we had the wedding & the reception at the Hall River ballroom, we weren't able to use the property as much as we wanted to. I only wish that we knew how well this property was stocked because we would have had our reception there. She has many places where you can sit outside and enjoy the scenery with multiple grills, refrigerators, and fire pits. There are so many different sitting areas on the property that can be used to accommodate a number of people. I really can't say enough

This is an annual conference in Seagrove, NC- an area considered a pottery mecca in the United…read moreStates. They have a long history of generational potters across the area and also draws new artists into the area! Because it is a destination town for collectors- there is room for all kinds of art, especially ceramic! The conference theme changes annually and they have numerous presenters each year. Last year showcased three amazing artists and their surface decorating techniques. Plus the added lectures from more artists. I especially loved the mayor opening the conference last year with the "move here" pitch! The 2026 Theme: Clay Colorama! This year has already kicked off with a fabulous colorist, ceramicist and artist all the way from Hawaii! Dean McRaine, a self taught pottery who takes colored clay and arranges intricate patterns in a block and slices the pictures off- making hundreds of copies of one image that takes about a month to create! For the next 2 days we will learn from 3 artist all working side by side and taking turns explaining their process. Laura Caroline Casas, Carol Long & Scott Jones will be the demonstrating artists. We will also have more guest speakers- Lily Lund and Andrew Clark. Food is catered for participants. Tonight was Peppers Moon Catering with a fabulous chicken dinner. This is my second year coming to conference and I'm kinda mad at myself for not writing up this review last year! Registration opens October, every year and this conference sells out fast because they limit it to 125 guests. I have also gone to another annual conference that averages 5k-6k participants! In comparison, the more intimate setting gives me more opportunity to really absorb everything the artist are teaching. I appreciate the hard work of the staff and volunteers and really love the facility they use. They also listen to feedback- last year the tables for meals were too close together- this year they are spaced out better. They also struggled with video feeds of all the demonstrating artists and I can already see that they are trying a different approach this year. Perks of this particular conference. Location- if you plan to stay extra, you cannot go wrong exploring and meeting the local potters. Artist- the event organizers do a great job with theme and finding current artists to demo or lecture Food- they feed you and well! Starworks- this is a multifaceted art center in Star, NC that has an entire floor dedicated to ceramics, clay development, testing and processing. Smaller number of participants. I really feel like that is a huge push to come! I hope to return again next year! I'm turning into a conference junkie, lol
