I've been a loyal customer of Bao on Beverly Drive since the day they opened, and my office is…read moreright next door. Unfortunately, after my experience today, I walked out without even getting a massage. The front desk receptionist was unbelievably rude from the moment I walked in. I politely asked if someone could massage my feet without gloves, something I've had done several times there before. She immediately responded with an attitude, "Everyone here uses gloves, but I'll ask." She asked, and they said it was perfectly fine. Because I was under a time constraint, I then simply asked how long it might be before I was assigned a therapist. Instead of giving me an estimate or politely saying she wasn't sure, she responded, "I don't know, but you can leave if you don't want to wait," and actually shooed me toward the door with her hands. I was stunned. So I did exactly that--I left. I've supported this business for years and have been coming here since they opened. I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable or demanding special treatment. I asked two very simple questions and was treated as though my business was an inconvenience. A longtime customer should never be spoken to or treated this way. The entire interaction was unnecessarily hostile, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. I hope management addresses it, because one person at the front desk can undo years of goodwill with a loyal customer in a matter of minutes.

I have gone here several times with great experience but recently I went here and cannot believe…read morethe experience. The person massaging me ending up rubbing his junk against me to the point I thought it was partially accidentally bumping me to the point that I kept moving away. I thought he had an apron with lotion bottle and that's what it was but when I went to move away and finally ask what the heck was going on there was no apron. I'm sharing as I would ask for a woman here and seriously disturbed by how frozen and awkward this was. I hope this place replaces this person. And reached out to me to remedy this issue. It's crazy as I think back how much groom contact was happening and so disgusting. What an A hole.

The place is very clean and simple. Update: came back for 90 mins combo and it is still amazing! Kelly is always so welcoming and just worked all the tension in my muscle away. To the comment about Kelly answering phone call - she answers calls about appointment inquiries and have always kept it brief and low on volume. The space is clean, but that is the only positive thing I can say about this experience. The…read moremassage itself was extremely poor and not worth the money at all. From the moment I laid down, the therapist applied intense pressure immediately with no warm-up and no care. The massage felt rushed, unprofessional, and very repetitive. She used the same movements over and over for long periods of time and did not actually provide a proper full-body massage. My arms were barely touched, my head was hardly massaged, and she mostly just squeezed my legs without any real technique. Throughout my 90-minute session, she repeatedly stopped to answer phone calls and attend to people walking in, which took time away from the service I paid for. I paid $90 for 90 minutes plus an additional $3 charge, and I absolutely did not receive the value or time promised. I don't know her name, but she had short red hair and was also working the front desk. Overall, she did not do a good job at all. I left feeling tense, disappointed, and unsatisfied. I would not return and would not recommend this place.

Tomoko Spa is located on a very busy street, but you forget all that as soon as you step inside. They do a really great job of creating a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The experience starts with a 15 min foot soak/massage, and that already was divine. The masseuse puts the perfect amount of pressure, and that combined with the warm water, almost put me to sleep, haha. For the body massage part, the masseuse asks you what parts you want focused on and how much pressure you would like. They are also really good at checking in at various parts of the massage to make sure you are completely satisfied. I really appreciated how thorough they are with the massage and also how proactive they are in making sure you are enjoying the experience. At the end of the massage, we were given hand-whisked matcha tea to drink, and they also provided us jelly, a handwritten note, and a rose to celebrate our anniversary :) We had such a lovely experience, and I cannot recommend this place enough, whether to celebrate a special occasion, or just to treat yourself! ** If you book a couple's massage, they provide complimentary parking in the lot next to the spa, otherwise there's paid street parking or parking garages available nearby

I have no idea if she owns the place, but I will be reporting them to Better Business Bureau for bad business practices. This has been going on for years. What keeps me going back are simply the excellent massage therapists. I wish they would get rid of her in front.
