Staff was great! Friendly and attentive. Wines were "average" but I am from CA so put that in perspective. Tasting room was basic but friendly for locals - ambience does not compare to Alacantara with nice yard and live music or Merkin with incredible views and food. Still enjoyed our visit.

All their awards for fantastic wine, they should be moved out of the restroom though ;)

Trying to decide which Verde Valley winery to stop in for a tasting? Well look no more, Château Tumbleweed is your place! We typically go to many of the wineries on Main Street in Cottonwood but this time decided to go off the beaten path, and what a great decision! Had the light wine tasting and a small charcuterie box. The small is definitely more than enough for two and Kris made an outstanding creation with great variety to complement the wine. The conversation with Kris, one of the owners as well as the label artist, was so refreshing and enlightening! Super cute location with a nice dog-friendly patio! I love that they do not bring all the wines out at one time on a flight board, like some of the wineries do, but present each individual bottle and go into depth about the background and the label. Kris brought out a few extras that were not on the tasting menu. The 2021 Cimarron Vineyard Picpoul Blanc and the 2021 Sierra Bonita Vineyard Grenache Blanc, went home to Flagstaff! Can't wait for some warmer days to break into these! I'm already planning my next visit with a couple of friends who can't wait to go, after all my ranting and raving, and my manager went last weekend off of my recommendation, and just loved it. Looking forward to trying the Deluxe Flight. Don't miss this gem in Clarkdale! Great wine, great vibes, good times! So, do what a tumbleweed does best, and roll into this little château!

What a great find! Although the grapes are not grown locally (they are from Southern Arizona) the winemaking here is impeccable. You will find many classic varieties from Europe that you rarely see in the US, and every one of a dozen wines we tried was perfectly crafted. And what a wonderful host we had for our tasting! Even though he has only been with the winery for six months, he was very knowledgable and accommodating, providing us with great recommendations for not only wines, but also local sights and restaurants. This was our favorite stop in this wine country.

What a quaint & charming wine tasting bar in Clarkdale, AZ! We were on a mini vaca in Sedona recently & was disappointed to find out that a brewery in Sedona doesn't allow dogs on their patio. And talk about blessing in disguise for us to have discovered CT tasting room! We loved their wine so much that we bought two bottles of reds (one was red blend & I believe the other one was Graciano - unsure if it was Italian or Spanish wine. My college degrees are in Admin in Higher Education & Counseling; hence my ignorance w/ foreign languages, LOL!). Nevertheless, we enjoyed our time on their covered patio w/ our dog. And one of the owners, Chris was an outstanding wine pourer with her great sense of humor & charisma! The next time we head to Sedona, we'll stop by again.

I came here for a wine tasting this past Friday and was pleasantly surprised by the unique atmosphere inside the building. It's more like a small bar with fun attentive bar tenders and friendly locals/wine club members you can talk to. Eva was great and very informative about the wine. I ended up liking the 2018 Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon. We couldn't try their Grenache but we ended up taking a chance and buying a bottle anyway.

We love tumbleweed. Their selection of wine is great! We visited on a Wednesday night and each had a flight. Our amazing server gave us extra pours / sample wines we were considering purchasing. First class service and made us feel incredibly special and well taken care of. We ended up with 2 bottles and the price of the flight goes towards the bottles of wine you buy, what an amazing deal! We had nice conversation with the staff and other guests sitting at the bar. We can't wait to bring friends and family here who are visiting the area. A must see while in the Verde Valley!

Had amazing conversations with the workers there. They were very attentive and the wine was amazing! We bought two bottles to take home. Definitely a fun little stop! Cheers!

Looking for contemporary winery with a funky vibe near Sedona? Visit Chateau Tumbleweed! Chateau Tumbleweed was founded by four friends - two husband-and-wife teams - who, after working more than 30 combined years for other Arizona wineries, chose to create their own wine in 2011. After making their wine at the Four-Eight Wineworks Winemaker's Cooperative in Camp Verde from 2012 to 2014, they purchashed and converted an old building to become one of Clarkdale's first commercial wineries and tasting rooms. I enjoyed the wine tasting flights on their patio, which has panoramic views of the Verde Valley. Also, how funky are these Tumbleweed wine labels? Obsessed with the illustrations!

Yesterday, the second stop on our Arizona wine country adventure was to Chateau Tumbleweed. Chateau Tumbleweed sits along the side of 89A in the tiny hamlet of Clarkdale. We arrived just before 1 and there weren't any other customers. The two people that were working in the tasting room were so nice and just gave us amazing service. The Mrs. chose the red blend flight to taste. The wines poured were: 2019 Willy 2019 Dr. Ron Bot 2019 Le Blend 2019 Cousin Idd I chose the single varietal flight to taste. The wines poured were: 2018 Cimarron Vineyard Sangiovese 2018 Cimarron Vineyard Graciano 2018 Carlson Creek Vineyard Syrah 2018 Carlson Creek Vineyard Malbec I enjoyed a bottle of the 2019 Cousin Idd the night before, which was very good, but the single vineyard wines were incredible. We ended up purchasing a bottle of the Sangiovese and Dr. Ron Bot. As we were sitting outside enjoying our wine, a few other people showed up. One was an employee who had the day off and stopped by for a tasting. The other was a local that the two people working in the tasting room seemed to know really well. Aside from the amazing wine, Chateau Tumbleweed also has awesome merchandise. I like the artwork that is used on the bottle labels so I couldn't resist buying a t-shirt.

Currently, there is patio seating only. Not a ton of tables so there may be a wait. They do have a heater. Decent wine and great service. Tastings are nice pours, and they are freehand not from a measured pour spout. We bought 6 bottles. Everyone was very chummy, and we made some new friends. Fun place to hang out for an hour or two!

While making the reservation I made a note that our oldest son is autistic and non-verbal and his only form of communication so that staff was aware we decided to give this place a try. After spending close to $800 on food for our party we decided to exit the restaurant and that is when the problems began. As we were walking out another customer at the bar a patron at the bar decided to squeal at my son but also yell into his face. When who I assumed was her daughter realized we saw what was going on she covered her mouth and told her to stop. Being adults and understanding of others different situations we decided the best method was to approach the management team and explain the situation. I then approached a manger who was wearing a pink colored collared shirt and explained to her what happened and her response was "that hurts my heart, we do not stand for that and we will definitely do something about this." We waited outside for about 15 minutes to see what was going to be done and once we saw nothing was I went back in to speak to the general manager. This was definitely the worst part of the night. Tiana came out to speak to us and I asked her to speak on the side so that other patrons were not affected. Her response to me after explaining the situation was "since we did not see it we cannot do anything." I let her know that was an inappropriate response and that since it was a private business they could remove any patron for any reason but if they did not want to do that then she could just openly tell me that. I then gave her an example and stated "if I stab someone and you do not see it then you would not remove me?" Her response was "we definitely would," to which I stated that goes against what you just openly told me and she that there is damage from a stabbing. I then stated to her that physical damage is the same as emotional and mental damge just in a different form which she seemed to easily dismiss. She then stated that the first manager I spoke to was doing her due diligence to find out what happened and I then pointed out that that manager was actually waiting tables and we watched her do this the entire time so I was not sure when due diligence was being completed. We went around in circles, I asked her to give me the ownership information to which she stated "the owner is too famous for you to know," but eventually gave me the name which I had already searched for in my phone. At this point I openly stated that she could just tell me they were not going to do anything and that transparency would be more appreciated to which her response was "you are not currently dining in my restaurant so you need to leave my property." We did walk away but I hope that this is addressed and not pushed aside. All that to say, I hope this type of discrimination was not because we were Hispanic (the restaurant was filled with 90% Caucasian clients), because we were from out of town (from California) and mostly I hope it is not because the stance of the restaurant is not that people with disabilities matter less. I hope someone reaches out to me to address this concern and I hope no other family has to be a part of what we went through tonight. Tiana seems to be invested in the business and that is great but should also understand her customer concerns. Update to this review: Called this morning (2/17/26) and the hostess said she was not going to help me with any information, that I was a weirdo, to grow up and then hung up the phone on me.

This place is not looking to slam out every table rather let folks enjoy the experience, sit back, relax, live in the moment. For some, speedy service is necessary. Not always the case for us - thankfully not the case this evening. The table next to us were celebrating a 30yo's bday and complaining to the manager about slow service until they got comp'd... then we heard the guy complaining that his cc was maxed out... - food is locally sourced, much of it owned by the owner so the prices are VERY unexpectedly reasonable. We read the disclaimer on the bottom of the menu stating possible risk of cross-contamination and informed our server that a member of our party has celiac disease, despite this declaration we were served allergens TWICE. Both the fried gnocchi with the steak and a pizelle cookie hidden in the ube gelaska were served despite our clear notice. Food safety is a significant responsibility, and it appears the kitchen staff ignored the modifier on the service ticket for the steak (the server forgot to add the modifier on the dessert dish) and the server did not pay attention to the presentation prior to delivering the dish to the table. While the manager was lovely and effective at de-escalating the situation, the initial server's reaction was to walk away. Celiac disease is a serious health issue, not a dietary preference, and requires strict precautionary measures. Unfortunately, the carelessness displayed by the staff deters us from returning, as this lack of attention to detail poses a serious health risk to your patrons. I hope this feedback will be taken seriously to ensure better safety protocols in the future. It's a beautiful establishment with an incredibly unique menu that deserves better service and care from the staff.

We had been in the car all day and we were looking forward to chatting about the wine and learning from the tasting room employee. We haven't been to Cottonwood in several years and thought it would be a nice chat. Nothing too involved. We didn't want to take her time from other customers. We just enjoy these types of interactions at wineries and that's how we learn about the wine, the industry etc. Well, we walked up to the bar and we were told to take a seat wherever we'd like. (There was only one other couple in the tasting room at the time, so it wasn't busy.) The employee told my husband, "we serve you like a restaurant here" and she gestured towards some chairs. My husband followed up and said "so, we can't stand at the bar?" She then became very rude and snippy and said "this is where I work." So... we grabbed a couple of menus and took a seat, but at this point we were so upset by how rude she was being that we couldn't enjoy the wine and I suggested that we leave before I said something to her about her behavior. To be fair, yes, the bar is where she "works." It's a wine bar and we were there to drink wine and I can't imagine any other work she would have to do that would take precedence over selling wine to excited customers who were interested in paying for a tasting and we probably would have bought a couple of bottles as well. I very much doubt that her boss would think that whatever "work" she was doing at the bar was more important than selling wine and taking care of customers. We aren't loud, we aren't annoying and we certainly wouldn't have bothered her if she looked like she was in the middle of some kind of project, but not to allow us to even stand there was just jaw dropping. I didn't get her name, but she had long black hair and looked late middle aged. Very disappointed. Appalled even.
