I saw a sign for this store pointed down an alley (but not a creepy one) and decided to check it out. You are greeted with a warm welcome and the glorious smells of their homemade candles. There are so many scents to choose from which can make it a challenging experience but we selected a few. The store is beautifully thought out and set up, not overwhelming, and the products are beautiful. The woman who rung us up, I believe was the grandmother of the owner, super sweet. I think they moved from another state to settle here. They were so nice. We bought a few candles, a Christmas decoration or two, and a few other things. I hope they get good business because it's easy to miss but all of their items seem to be online so they are definitely doing it right! I can't wait to visit them again!

Being a resource person by temperament and training, I did some research and found their website. I also found this thread of Yelp reviews. My friend couldn't go to the A Priori website because it's down being redesigned. The woman at A Priori told me that these folks had been impacted by the recent hurricane but were bouncing back. Looking at the website, I saw quite a few clocks in a range of prices, so they have a bigger inventory than I anticipated. Interestingly, the price of the clock I bought at A Priori was less expensive than from the artist. . While I haven't been to the showroom, the previous two reviewer have and it seems like it's worth a visit if you're in the vicinity.

There were at least 5 people working that day - all we spoke with were very friendly. We talked with the lead craftsman and he was very helpful explaining about the different woods and processes used to make the items. I decided to get a candle (my weakness) while hubby continuing chatting with the man. Finally hubby selected a clock for his office - a beautiful craftsman made out of cherry wood. After we left, I browsed their website - which is beautifully done as well. So glad we stopped in Sabbath-Day Woods as not only did we support a local family business but also bought a beautiful clock that will be cherished.
