Nice resort. A good mix of runs for beginners to advanced…read moreriders. Several high speed chairs keep the action going. A number of dining options from casual grab and go to sit down service. Friendly workers and staff. Excellent ski school.

I went here once in March for a day and it was spectacular with great views…read more The area you're able to ski is massive and there is a lot of tree skiing options. I tried to hit up just about every hill throughout the day but missed a few Because the place is so massive. This is one of my favorite ski Mountains because of the tree skiing options and how many Black Diamonds are groomed (it's so fun bombing down the hill just on the edge of being out of control). I did wipe out on the second to last run losing a ski in the process and sliding down the mountain, but was able to recover the ski after a short hike up for about 40 yards). If I had to pick a ski place where I came closest to dying it would probably be here when I came flying around a sharp groomed corner onto a moguled hill, but was able to gain some control before I became one with some pine trees. About a month before I came here I read that a woman got nipped by a coyote when she was tree skiing and they had a sign warning about a coyote there at the top of one of the runs, so that was kind of funny. I stopped in for some chili at one of the small hole in the wall places they have at the base of the Eastern side of the mountain and that was a really cool place with good food.

Had a dinner meal here with friends, while traveling overnight from Banff down to Spokane. Right at…read morethe base of the Schweitzer Mountain resort must make this a popular stop for all you ski and snowboard bums out there! We sat at a high-top table and served beers while we waited for our food order. My wife and I split several dishes...a house salad, an order of hot chicken wings and a pulled pork sandwich (which came with a bag of chips). All of the food was just fine, nothing special or unique about any of it, but it served its purpose. Fun little chill bar scene inside, bet it is a fun place to hang.

It is rare for me to provide a 1-star review; typically, 2-stars is my lowest…read more But this is a horrible place. The food looked decent, but the service is something i had never experienced before. Here is example #1: We ordered beers at the bar and were to sit outside. I ordered and talked to her, and there were only 4 people at the bar with drinks already (added two pics). So i stood there, and she just went on to doing other menial things. So I asked her if we would get our beers and when. She said, "Come back in 9-10 minutes". This is very odd since she wasn't doing anything. I went out and told my friends this so one of them went and demanded them, which she then provided them. Example #2: A nice-looking couple comes in and sits at the bar. I'm inside since it got cold out. They sit there and sit there and sit there, and she never acknowledges them. 10-minutes go by, and the guy gets angry (remember, she's not doing anything!). She starts laughing at him and making fun of him for being angry. She then takes their drink order and, you guessed it, when on to other things, really nothing, but she tries to look busy somehow. i come up and asked for more beer, so she actually poured their beers since she was going to come over to this area of the bar, and then gave them the beers. Example #3: At this point, i had ordered food when i ordered the first beers, not knowing what was in store art that time. 20 min goes by, 30 min goes by, and i ask her (understand that the kitchen is open in the bar area, so you can see the cook doing nothing). I asked about it, and she goes over and tells him, so he starts to cook it at that moment. 45 min after i ordered i get my burger. Remember that there is hardly anyone in there Example #4: we had enough and wanted to leave. I see her across the bar, but she ignores me for 5-6 minutes. Finally, i just said really loud, "Please give me my bill!"...she acknowledged that but stood around and doesn't give it to me for almost 15 minutes, not exaggerating, even though I kept asking (crickets from her)...my friend comes in and yells at her, which of course made her laugh and make fun of him. My friends and i talked about this and we've experienced bad and slow service, but nothing like this, ever. Really ruined my afternoon. Went to the super nice bar across from there and had a GREAT time.

WARNING: Hotel is NOT pet friendly. Both Priceline and the best western website had pets listed,…read morebut the website had a separate, tucked-away link, that stated that the hotel should be called directly about pets. No mention of this anywhere else on Priceline or the website itself. Clearly trying to get away with the legal minimum for informing customers I was informed at the desk that my cat was not allowed, despite being cleaner and quieter than most dogs or children. The gentleman at the front desk actually had the gall to suggest I leave my cat in the car. Which would have been for 2 days In the summer. With no food water or litter. If I wasn't so stunned I would have chewed out his stupidity. I was placed in a room right by an exit door and assumed the staff was giving me a wink wink to bring my cat in, that they had to follow policy but were trying to help. Except they called me a half hour later saying they watched me on camera with my carrier and I would be charged 300 dollars if I was "caught" with a cat in the room. Really? Watching me check in on camera? They could have just charged me if there were damages but they went that far? I had to ask a family member to call in a favor to have my cat taken care of. But what if I couldn't? What if I couldn't afford to cancel the room without a refund and go to another hotel? Or risk the 300 dollar fee? What if there was nowhere to board my cat because local vet clinics were closed by the time I checked in? The whole thing was badly implemented and executed The website has a picture of a paw on the amenities for pet friendly but hides that it is DOG friendly which is not the same. The whole process was shady and shameful. 2 stars because the room was mediocre, but fine, the breakfast buffet was good and the view was great. But the whole situation was a complete mess and there was no effort by hotel staff to address it.
