Our family had a little winter getaway in the lake front cabin, we couldn't be happier with our stay. Views of the lake are spectacular. House is equipped with everything you need for your stay. Plenty of board games for kids for game night. Plenty of space to run around and rest. Drew always checked in on us asking if we needed anything extra. Sean at the restaurant was so pleasant and took great care of us. I can't wait to be back here during the summer. Would recommend to anyone for a 5 star getaway. Luxury to the fullest. read more

Went up Saturday night from CDA for Oktoberfest. Roads were plowed and clear of snow! Atmosphere was great with authentic Schuhplattler music and even Nagelbalken (hitting nails into what looked like freshly cut tree trunks after you drink). The menu was also fantastic with the pretzel, wurst, and beef dishes all really well made. I would rate this as one of the better Oktoberfests in the panhandle and they were gracious with us even after we destroyed one of their beer steins. Plus you just can't beat a location where light pollution is low enough for you to see every star in the night sky. Prost! read more

Stumbled upon this place while out on a road trip with the guys yesterday and I have to say it really hasn't left my mind. The service was great thanks to our bartender Meghan. She recommended the Buffalo Cobb which I basically inhaled. Food was outstanding. Meghan also said to check out the natural sliding rocks down the road. Pretty cool stuff! Cheers guys! read more

2nd time going here for my boyfriend's family annual trip. Last year one of the girls got the Priest Lake Pasta which I tried, so I had to get it for myself this time around. Very big serving and delicious! The leftovers tasted good as well which is always a plus. To drink I had the Huckleberry Daiquiri and we also ordered a side of fries. This review is for the restaurant at the Resort at Cavanaugh's. We checked this place out at the recommendation of a local living in Priest River. We went on a beautiful Sunday in August around lunchtime. Easy to find with Google Maps. Parking is on site and found a spot right away. There is a small beach you can walk up to next to the restaurant with small waves. Perfect for a little toddler to splash around in until you're ready to sit down to eat. Our party of 4 adults and 1 toddler ordered: Halibut and chips - really good and I would highly recommend. The fish was crispy yet moist inside. Calamari - I think my favorite dish of the lunch. Good serving size and the crust was light and crispy. Calamari itself was tender. Veggie pizza - was meh. Probably my least favorite dish of the lunch. I felt the tomato sauce was bland. Hail Caesar salad - they didn't have romaine lettuce the day we went, but it was still good. The bill was about $70 without tip and we didn't get any alcoholic beverages. The view from the outdoor dining area is nice - you have a small beach right down below and then there is a dock on the pristine blue Priest Lake water. Great place to people watch, see planes flying in/out as well as seeing boats and all the people enjoying the lake. FYI - dogs weren't allowed in dining area. I saw them tied on their leash on the side of the outdoor dining area. All in all a good meal in a nice ambiance. We'll have to make this a stop each time we visit the in laws up here in Idaho. read more

Poor food. Staff completely unapologetic for the the horrible overall experience we had. Beside the lack of food quality, the phone service didn't work (and hasn't for months) so that I had to drive to the restaurant 4 times to retrieve a special hat I'd left. Got wet from sprinklers while we ate. Like most of my fellow cabin owners, I won't be back, especially since that's what the staff of Cavs requested. No problem. read more

Another place I've been coming to most of my life and the food is absolutely delicious and I absolutely love the staff here they are amazing! Wish we had servers like this everywhere! However the cabins are way overpriced for the location and actual activities you can do here are limited. read more

I grew up spending summers at Priest Lake and then worked for 2 years at Cavanaugh's before Mike and Katie took it over. The transformation has been absolutely mind blowing. The food has improved 10 fold, the deck has always been popular, but now the whole place has a much more inviting and refined feel. The menu and hours change seasonally, but their Facebook stays up to date with daily specials, live music schedule, and events. During the summer, the deck gets packed on busy days, and nights with live music has the place jammed. read more

I honestly don't know what happened, I went here a while back but it's just not the same anymore. The website advertises pictures from other resorts, cabins are overpriced, and facing poorly built and maintained employee cabins, they keep taking some of the most popular items off the menu and everything is oversalted and cheap tasting. On top of that, I kept hearing the housekeeper yell very untasteful and threatening things to other employees, and nothing was done about! They really need to step up their game. I won't be going back to Cavs for a while. read more

If you're on the lake for more than a few days, definitely give this place a try. The food is good and occasionally great, but the atmosphere is why you come. Friendly service staff, good drinks, and incredible views. If you have a boat, then by all means motor in that way, if you're coming by car, then stop by the grass airstrip and watch planes come in. They also have some pretty decent music at night throughout the summer. It's a good place for a bite, a brew, and a few hours blissfully wasted away on Priest Lake. read more

Amazing service! Awesome view! Great food! We had a few hiccups with our food and they went above and beyond to make things right. We got the nacho appetizer which is enough for 4 people to share. Then we shared the special chix pesto pizza, which was plenty for 2 and the kids finished with ice cream. Portions are huge and everything was yummy. Highly recommend! Terrible service - mediocre food. The waitress started out by denying a request for a virgin daiquiri because "the bartender would be mad if I asked for that." We ordered fish tacos and I requested to replace the side of chips with a side Caesar, which yes usually comes with an up charge but they charged $12 extra dollars for it. One of us ordered a sangria and the waitress stated "we have been serving them with a champagne float do you want to try that?" Well of course we said yes - she didn't mention it was an additional $2 to order that. We all had empty drinks and empty alcohol glasses with no one ever coming to refill or ask if we wanted another round. When there's hair in your food and you take a bite of it... your meal should be comp'd. It was pretty disgusting, and while the staff and location is great, food is very overpriced and basic. Cole slaw is just chopped up cabbage with no dressing or seasoning. Salads are $13-$15 for just some romaine lettuce and bland chicken. The tacos are okay but not worth $8 a piece. They're more like $3 street tacos. If you're going to eat here, stick to the bar food it would seem. Nachos and pizza seem to be a safe bet. read more
