    Lots of liquor!
    Jessica S.

Really popular, very busy, filled with loud talkers including the wait staff . Service is good, always need more than the one and only yellow paper napkin (am I the only one who needs 5?) Hehehe...anyway, their mango rice is super! Fresh, juicy, thickly cut mango slices on a bed of perfectly sweetened, coconut milk soaked mochi (?)rice...Nicely air conditioned, be friendly with the locals and be willing to share your table just like in Japan. I wouldn't come here with more than 4 people. You wouldn't want to keep shouting at your friends that aren't sitting right next to you. Wait staff doesn't speak english very much at all so don't expect thorough explanations to your questions. Fast, yummy food in crowded Sydney.

    Chicken satay

Very pleasantly surprised for food court food. The chicken satay was some of the best I've ever had! And I'm a picky Thai food water. Phad Thai was decent also, not as amazing as the satay but still very good. Prices reasonable for Australia - we paid $16 for 2 skewers and a Phad Thai that fed 2 of us. Winter hours must be different - they were closed by 8pm tonight when we swung by. So disappointed!!

    Pad Si Ew Jimmmyyyy!

Pad Si Ew Jimmmmyyyyy Pretty much the same as the other Chat Thai I reviewed, ie really good but this one doesn't have seats. And man does it get busy. I ate at 5 to 12 and in five minutes the queue grew out the back. Very popular.

Good by food court standards but not great compared to the Chat Thai restaurants. This food court version serves up more Isaan or Northern Thai style food compared to the restaurants which serve mainstream Thai. My dining partner and I ordered 2 different dishes but they came in the same broth. My boat noodle soup was a little disappointing. Quite small, not much noodles, only 3 fishcakes, fried pork belly and coriander. I gobbled it up quickly and could do with something extra for dinner. Having said that, as I love Thai and like the Chat Thai restaurants, I would give it another go and order something different.

    Pad Thai. Yummy.

Three of us had: Singapore pandan coconut thingy with jellies to drink. Apparently this is an acceptable way to order this divine beverage - that you must try if you like coconut (I live to eat foods made with coconut). Red curry with duck and pineapple. I wasn't big on the pineapple or small green things in the soup. The curry taste had a lot of bite and was kind of lemongrassy. If I had snuck a can of coconut milk in to add I think it would have been perfect, though. Very good despite my nitpicking (red curry with x is possibly my all time favorite dish). The massaman curry with beef was so disappointing! I usually love massaman but this stuff was sweet! Yuck. Wasn't very curry tasting at all. The beef was done nice and tender but I didn't like the curry it was served with. Didn't touch it again after the first bite. The pad thai with chicken was very good, the noodles were primarily savory salty but got this interesting VERY subtle hint of sweet at the end of your bite. It was good. I wish I had more but I have a weakness for red curry and duck and when you combine those things it's over. I'd love to go back and try some other things, but there is a lot of Thai in Sydney. I want to try Home Thai before I come back to Chat Thai.

This used to be my favourite place to get freshly made to order Thai food in the CBD. Then for a period of time I thought I had lost it as the renovations began on the food court, But... now... it is back better than ever. If you have not been to the food court in the Victoria's Galleries, you should really check it out. It is now one of the classiest food courts in Sydney, with a nice range of options. But for now... back to the Thai food. I came to order the other day, and was stuffed. The menu is all (or at least 90%) in Thai. This would not have been a problem if I had seen Pad Krapow Pow on the menu, as I have been ordering basil chilli beef stir fry for years...! With my staple not there I frantically started using Google on my phone to search for translations. Finally I came across Raadt Naa, which it turns out is a Thai soup noodle with thick flat squarish noodles in a very rich broth. This is what I ended up ordering and it was awesome. If anything it was a bit too rich. Though being too rich did not stop me from finishing off every morsel.... So delicious! You should really try this place out..... but be ready to need a translator.... :-)

    Khao Soi
    Wei H.

Chat Thai is my favorite Thai restaurant in Sydney. As same as other Chat Thai, this one is very busy especially during lunch time. I ordered Khao Soi that is very tasty, deep-fried crispy egg noodles and slow-cooked chicken in a curry-like sauce containing coconut milk and smoked chili oil. What a combination! Compared to other Thai restaurants, the portion is relatively small, and it's not enough for me.

    Frozen Watermelon juice

Good for a food court thai restaurant, not great overall. The blended juices are refreshing, I'd recommend those. However, the food isn't up to par. The noodle dishes are oily and the chicken is terrible quality. The chicken was all of the fatty pieces, couldn't eat any of it.

Very tasty. No curries. Cash only on the day I visited. The location is downstairs in a mall food courtyard.

Good grub food to get the Thai zest food on!…read more I like their flavorful Tom Yum Goong, extremely. One can tell with the ingredients used and the strong flavor used in the soup. Chicken noodle soup was spot on. I think I ate too much two hours before, so my stomach wasn't feeling well at all when I over ordered here! I got excited on their 5 dollar grubs and Tom Yum soup. It's like a hole in the wall kind of place. Service was great and I like the down to earth vibes here. My eyes are bigger than my stomach, as usual. Got my yummy Thai craving on!

You're gonna need it, this is authentic Thai, they don't scrimp on the spice. This used to be a very regular lunchtime haunt for me because it wasn't very busy and @ $7.90 for my favourite dish (which is a generous serve), it was almost impossible to avoid at least once a week. However it seems that word has gotten around because it can be very busy at lunch times. I usually opt for pork pad krapao cos it's a great serve but have tried other dishes too. The pork two ways (belly and bbq) is a bigger dish but is also outside their $8 lunch sweetspot! The only real gripe I have with the place is that the seating outside attracts smokers. Most people hate smokers whilst they are eating, and it's probably illegal but you know what inconsiderate ign'ant peeps are like, they just don't care.

From the outside it looked very clean and inviting with walls decorated with vibrant Thai street art. There were many patrons inside eating which is also a good sign that the food must be good. I decided to give it a try and I'm so pleased I did! The place has a Bain-Marie setup on entry for takeaway. You can order from here to dine in also but the price will differ. It is cheaper to takeaway. The menu is very extensive listing more than 100 Thai regional specialties. The menu has several different styles of noodle soups 'Boat Noodle Soup' and 'Tom Yum Sukhothai Noodle Soup' ranging from the spicy-sour tom yum soup to tom luad moo (soup made with a clear broth as well as pork and vegetables). Under the heading 'Hot Pot Set' you can order the Thai Southeast street food 'Chim Chum', a spicy sour broth with different meats, seafood and fresh herbs such as galangal, sweet basil, lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves all cooked together and served in a small clay pot. There are refreshing papaya and vermicelli noodle salads, stir-fries, fried fish, hotpots and for the ultimate sweet ending, sweet doughnuts served with delicious Pandan sauce (Pa-Tong-Go) or deep-fried banana. I chose two of my all time favourites- Chicken Pad Thai and a Chicken Cashew Nut stir fry. The portion size was huge and worth every cent! The taste was simply amazing and better than what I have received at my other favourite, more expensive Thai restaurants in Sydney. Wow I now have found a new favourite Thai restaurant.
