You can make an appointment online for the services that you're interested in and I always opt for the Custom Facial (with dermaplaning). From the moment you're greeted by whoever is at the desk, to being taken back to the room for your service, you are treated so well! Some days there are snacks and drinks, other days, it's really just up to you on if you'd like some water, but the team is so welcoming and friendly. The Moxi you are prenumbed and that's probably a 1/10 or 2/10. You don't feel that at all. AFTER however is a different story, expect a sunburn like feel! I would say immediately after treatment for 1-2 hours after is uncomfortable. After that it's breezy. Follow you're given directions and you're good to go! I've never written a review for anything before now; but I've never been so impressed by any establishment that I felt I needed to. After a few visits to Chasing Vanity it was apparent that they deserve all the praise one could give. First off, the stylist's (cue the Angels singing) wow! I've been to a half dozen or so of the girls and each time I am overly impressed with the professionalism, attention to detail, and most importantly the finished product. I'm not one to make/keep hair appointments so I will typically just call ahead a few hours and get a cut from whoever's available, if any. I've bounced around to almost every salon/barber shop in Grand Rapids and none have come close to the overall satisfaction you can expect from a visit to Chasing Vanity. read more

Completely warm and friendly, from the moment I walk through the door until it's time to leave...I enjoyed a totally relaxing surrounding and felt pampered the entire time. Wow! I knew I would encounter great things with Ryan at Chasing Vanity. I literally stopped someone at church and had to know who did there color. Thus leads me to today. My hair was looking crazy from a bad coloring experience that happened out of town. My hair was frizzy parched, a little orangey and sad, and he made it better then it has ever looked, on my best hair day. SO many things to love about this salon! The location is great - right off the highway and so close to downtown restaurants, shops, etc. Never have to worry about parking as they have a free lot behind the salon. I'm always greeted with a friendly smile and complimentary cup of coffee. The interior of salon is clean with a creative vibe. My stylist Alison listens to what I want and also makes great suggestions on unique cuts and styling tips when I'm feeling the need for change. Let me tell you; I have bi-weekly appointments at CV for HydraFacials and Lisa is down right fabulous! She knows her craft well as do the nail techs I have used. I have no hair to give you a first hand review there but I can tell you from what I see on Instagram I am in love with their styling creations too. Amber is such a TALENTED ANGEL!! My hair before I came to Amber was such a shit show and I was so insecure. She changed that SO quickly. I could literally spend every day here. The team is super welcoming! Every time I visit I get VIP treatment from the beverages to the hair to the nails. It's been at least 3 weeks, and the nail polish is still on! The only reason I gave it a 4 star review... for the price, there could have been more services included in the pedicure. Some things to recommend... a paraffin wax, the use of hot stones, a foot mask, etc. Other spas in the area offer a lot more with a pedicure for that price.

She told me no she told me that if she trimmed up the other side, it would end up being way too thin and I would not be happy. I know my own hair what she should've said was let's make an appointment. I'll get you in here and will check it out, that is the worst customer service I have ever experienced I didn't even know how to reply at the end of her message she told me I just want you to be happy. I told her thank you you have a nice day. I found another hairstylist and she fixed it. I was completely satisfied, this hairstylist was at another company so I called angle salon left a message cancel my appointment and said we weren't hair compatible. I am not naming her name. She knows who she is. I just want to let her know now I am happy and then I wish you the best, this behavior was 100% not acceptable.

So I set up a consultation with Brittany so she could see my hair, and we could talk about what we were going to do with it. We agreed on a few low lights on top, and a few highlights through out. When the day came to get my hair done I was extremely excited. Brittany offered my a glass of wine while I got my hair done, and we engaged in casual conversation. By the time I was done my hair looked great. She ended up doing an ombre instead and it looked so natural and healthy. I ended up not coming in again for a few months and my hair grew out so nicely. But I wanted to go back to blonde all over for my second visit, I was in a time crunch and just told the receptionist I needed a cut, and alot of highlights. So someone that was great with blonde. They ended up setting me up with Aubrey. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and since it was so blonde in the picture, she said it would take a few visits to get to that shade of blonde, which I figured. She put close to 100 folis in my hair, and she was speedy and quick, but careful. She was absolutely fantastic! Her personality on top of her awesome skills made for an awesome visit. And my hair is exactly what I expected! Though they are on the pricy side, you pay for what you get! Definitely give Aubrey or Brittany a try if you want the blonde!

I completed two trials prior to ensure what I was looking for would be replicated on my wedding day. On the morning of my wedding, I specifically asked the stylist to use the hair netting she had used during my first trial, and she assured me it wouldn't be a problem. After my hair was finished, I was then told the salon had run out of the netting, so she had changed the bun instead. My hair looked completely different from both trials, and it was already falling apart before I even left the salon. Makeup artist Elaina attempted to salvage it back together with Bobby pins which was greatly appreciated. It was frustrating the salon didn't have the necessary supplies for a bridal appointment and didn't communicate that until after my hair was complete. One smaller issue was the credit card processing fee. It was never disclosed to me until I noticed the full amount of my deposit wasn't going to be applied to my final balance. Had I known there would be a processing fee, I would have used a different payment method for such a large transaction. Lastly, I got a gel French tip pedicure prior to the wedding. The polish application was sloppy and began peeling off that same day. The salon offered to fix it the next day, but unfortunately the repair still didn't hold. I'm disappointed in the outcome after multiple appointments and significant expense. The services did not meet expectations and I hope this review helps other brides.
