I didn't wait 1 second as Paola the warm and professional teller greeted me and immediately got to work helping me with what I needed. I was in and out the door in a few minutes. Paola and her coworker were incredible professional while also very warm and welcoming. When I inquired if she was a banker, she informed me she was a teller but asked if I was interested in meeting with one of their bankers. As I did not know my schedule for the week, she set up a phone call for a banker to call me to arrange an appointment. The branch was clean and inviting. 5 stars for Paola and Wells Fargo!

So now to the review: THE GOOD The tellers at this location of WF give great service, and most are bilingual, which is good for this location. However, other than that, this location is just meh. THE REST First off, there is no good place to park. I wish this bank was located near Johnson Ave. where at least there is more meter parking, a parking lot, and fewer double parkers. The entire parking situation makes going to this WF a real pain in the arse! My other pet peeve is that they need a front door greeter like most other banks have these days... or maybe they have one, but I never see one when I arrive. The other day, I had to wait like 5 minutes for someone just to tell me that this location didn't have a notary. And, what is up with that? They said their notary is waiting to get their license renewed. IMHO, every bank should have a notary available..5

I wish I could give The First Bank of Greenwich zero stars. Here's my experience:…read more I was originally planning to borrow $100K from Wells Fargo. The loan officer there, who was leaving to work at The First Bank of Greenwich, convinced me to apply with them instead. He promised to personally introduce me to the bank manager and a VP, which he did. At The First Bank of Greenwich, the VP required me to deposit $100K into an account in order to receive a $100K "secured" loan. Both the VP and the manager assured me that, within two weeks, this would be converted into a standard loan. That turned out to be a complete lie. Instead, they held onto my $100K for two months, during which I had no access to it, and ultimately informed me that they would not be approving any loan. When I decided to walk away and asked for my money back (I returned their $100K check, which I had never deposited elsewhere), they had the audacity to charge me $500 just to withdraw my own funds. In other words: they took $100K of my money, used it for two months, refused me the loan they promised, and then charged me $500 on the way out. I do not trust this bank and will never do business with them again.

After several decades of business banking - and at several banks - the First Bank of Greenwich has, again and again, gone out of their way to help in all ways big and small, that I've not seen elsewhere. In an era where decent customer service is constantly diminishing, this bank brings a refreshing and helpful level of focus and attention that's unfortunately hard to find elsewhere. And as a small business, with little to offer in terms of fat bank accounts, I still seem to get attention and service at the 10/10 level.
