Chase Bank - Banks & Credit Unions Near Me - San Pedro, California

I was having some bank account issues and I wasn't getting a clear understanding why. I went to another branch before coming to this one. That branch basically told me they couldn't help and to call chase and go to another place. I was upset and frustrated but they did me a favor. I came into the San Pedro branch and I spoke with a banker named Brandon and he was so nice and helpful. He went over and beyond to answer my questions and help me with my problem. I was having the worst day ever and leaving the branch now I am happy knowing I was helped and my issue was resolved. Thank you Brandon you don't know how much you helped me. read more

A friend took a refund check from a medical office drawn on Chase Bank to this branch to cash it and was charged $10.00 to cash the check (he doesn't have an account there). This is probably a Chase and general bank-wide policy, but I find it ludicrous, in light of the fact that brick and mortar financial institutions are losing customers to online banking systems. I realize that banks must find some way to operate, pay their staff and remain open for public access, but find charges such as the above financially burdensome. All brick and mortar banks need to re-think their fee structures and discontinue gouging the public like this. To continue to do so poses a financial hardship, especially in this day and age...and particularly among the senior population, the majority of which are on truly "fixed incomes" read more

Mel Campbell is the personal banker that you should ask for. He is so knowledgeable, helpful and efficient. He put me at ease, answered all my questions and reduced my stress level by 1000%. Thank you Mel for all that you did. About the location: The parking lot is spacious. Lots of Tellers available. You can book your appointment and come back when it's convenient. Well lit and easily accessible for the handicapped. Plenty of atms outside and indoors. This is my favorite branch. read more

I wouldn't give this Chase bank gets any stars, but it won't let me post without giving at least one. Horrible service!! Claudia seemed like she had no idea what she was doing when I asked her questions. Kept going back and forth to the station. I don't recommend this bank on Pacific in San Pedro. read more

It's no wonder that Israel A. is employee of the month... Backstory: I'm not a customer of Chase bank, but I needed to make a payment on a friend's credit card and we had found out that I don't have to do it over the phone through credit card services, I can make it in a Chase Bank branch. That certainly makes life easier, instead of "press 1 for english, 2 if you want to change your address, 3 if you want the payment address, 4 if you want to report your card lost or stolen, 5 if you want to update your information, 6 if you're ready to hang yourself because of all these prompts!!" Anyway, upon walking in, I was surprised at how big that bank was. It certainly did not look that big from the outside. There was one teller and one person in line in front of me. As the teller was helping that customer, I turned around and saw the greeter standing close to the line entrance. I asked him if I'm able to make a payment on my friends credit card and he said absolutely and that he would go on and take care of that for me. He went around to the teller window, logged into the computer and proceeded to help me make the payment. He told me that they are no longer taking cash payments on a credit card, unless it's your own account, but that I could use my debit or credit cards, or write a check. I told him that you would think that cash would be acceptable, but he explained that the government made changes to how they can accept a payment, as a way to keep track of illegal funds. So basically, there needs to be a way to track the individual. I understood what he meant. Between terrorism and white collar crimes, banking rules have certainly become more strict. Israel, as I came to find out, was more than helpful. He used my bank card and explained that the way that he took the funds out of my account, the fee should be no more than it would be to use the ATM. He was beyond helpful and I really appreciated his explanation of things, rather than how other bankers feel that they don't owe you an explanation or don't know the information themselves. He graciously ensured that all of my questions were answered and on my way out, I saw that they had his picture and name on the entrance table, stating that he was employee of the month! No wonder! Fantastic customer service! read more

Manager doesn't care about customers!! He just stands around smiling talking to whoever is in line, giving excuses about why they don't have enough tellers . The wait is ridiculous here !!!! Considering is the end of the month, they only have one teller, people are lined up to the door entrance. There's about 5 people out on the floor (chase associates) doing nothing , just greeting people saying hi as they enter . Time to change bank !!! Ain't no good customer service here !! read more

Horrible bank Are you serious they have just 1 teller. And they have 5 people on the floor doing nothing just saying hi and smiling Fuck man read more

Today was a horrible experience at this bank with first Jamie. She takes my deposit then I have a small check to deposit and she says her computer froze and can't. So she sends me to Yolanda and she starts questioning my customer's check (b of a). This is a business account. I have more than enough funds available plus pending. So now Yolanda says she can't cash it because the computer says it's suspicious activity because I went from one window to another. I told them, You told me yo come to this window because Jamies computer was frozen. Then she said her computer froze and couldn't help me WTF. So I asked yolanda for my receipts of the deposit I had just made and she said she couldn't give it to me because it was Jamie who did it OMG. I said can you ask Jamie for my receipt. She said hold on and told me to step aside. She made me wait more than 10 mins. I left B of A for idiots at CS and I'm out to leave Chase too. read more

I had to make an address change... First - there is a problem with homeless people approaching people at this branch like I've never seen before. An elderly woman waited next to me outside while I made a phone call - when I got off she said she was afraid of a man who repeatedly asked her for money - and followed her to her car. I walked her to her car - being a NY'er and very familiar with being approached by the homeless. When I've gone into any Chase, if I have to go and sit down with someone - they've always been more than helpful with completing whatever transactions I have - by walking up a deposit to the teller themselves (usually it's multiple things I'm there for if I'm taking the time to sit with someone)... I was told by the person helping me with the address change that I then had to go and wait in the long teller line to make a simple deposit of a check. When exiting, homeless man lingering by my car - and asking me for money - stood there and watched me till I left. I will be going to another branch next time. read more

I went in early-ish on a Tuesday morning to make a deposit and was disheartened by the long line. That being said, I did see some automated tellers and a bank employee helping people with them. I availed myself of one and felt pretty self-satisfied to circumvent the long line. I suspect they still need to work on striking the right balance here but I also think some customers may be reluctant to change with the times and I'm not sure we can blame the bank for that. read more

GREED.... Only one teller with 20 people on line... Thats BS... I never come insuder, but when I need to I don't want to wait a friken hour for help... I'm real close to closing out this account. I'm sure they wouldn't even care. read more

They got rid of all the tellers and replaced them with machines but still long lines. How did that help. This bank always has long lines because there's never enough tellers. Wish there were more options for banking near by. read more

Amazing customer service. They treat all customers with respect and the consideration does not vary. Very consistent performance with the staff and they're very attentive. I would definitely recommend going inside (even though I don't like going inside the bank, usually rather use the ATM lol). Friendly and very professional. read more

open a new account with cash. although its only 25.00 to open a checking account..which i was told that they would subtract from my payroll check. however, martha who processed opening my account explained that i would have to go to the teller window to obtain my cash minus the 25.00 fee to open my account. so after waiting behind two people in front of me. i signed my payroll check, submitted my new atm checking visa card and id luis the teller attempt 2 times without obtaining access. he prints receipt stating that m lmy funds will be available on tuesday november 29. i should have went to the check cashing first to avoid being broke till tuesday.....very disappointed by being mislead. this is not a good start. i'm going to close act if one more inconsistency with this bank. what bothered me the most was it didn't seem to bother luis to explain there is a hold until tuesday and even if i went to von's or a check cashing they wouldn't have been able to cash it......bulls hit.....i was just too tired to argue plus after e an spending an hour in there.....i sucked it up. if my funds are delayed past tuesday. i will close my act to obtain my funds. read more

We have been standing here for over 15 minutes. There are only 2 tellers and one if them was on the phone the whole time, where she should have helped the customers first. There is a 800 customer service number people can call; rather than tie up the tellers. The ATM machines are now nice and updated. read more

Every single time I go into this bank I am greeted by name and helped in a timely manner and it is always nice and clean. I have used practically all the banks in town and by far for the last 8 years Chase under the supervision of Sergio and his staff I am treated the very best. I suggest Chase to all my friends and customers. read more
