I had done business through Chase before, but never held an account, and they always seemed decent, so when I decided to open a new joint account with my lady, we went to our local branch. I though (naively, I suppose) that banks actually WANT new accounts. Foolish me. There was no place to sign in for help with a banker, no sign indicating an app to download or a website to visit, and no one behind several glass-walled offices bothered to even glance at us. So we got in line, and waited to get to the teller, only to find out WE needed to make an APPOINTMENT with them in order to open an account. They were kind enough to suggest that we COULD just wait around to see if one of the bankers had time to see us. But by then we were pretty confident this Chase location did not want our business. THIS IS NOT A GOOD PLACE TO WORK. THEY DISCRIMINATE AND RACIALLY PROFILE CUSTOMERS. THEY IGNORE SEXUAL HARASSMENT. I worked here as a teller from 2018 - 2019. I was relentlessly bullied by several Armenian female co-workers. I am not Armenian. They would engage in typical high school mean girl activities; including calling me names, making negative comments about my appearance, hovering over my shoulder while I worked, laughing with each other while looking me up and down whenever I entered the room, abruptly going silent and glaring at me at other times when I entered the room, suddenly switching from speaking English to Armenian while sneering at me when I was around, and falsely accusing me of stealing while I personally witnessed one of the girls regularly stealing money from her cash drawer. It was very childish, especially considering that we were all well beyond high school age. I reported the bullying to our Armenian supervisor, Taleen, and I was fired less than a week later. She lied and said the reason was "misconduct," in order to ban me from even claiming unemployment benefits. I appealed this in court and got a ruling in my favor. The firing was unjustified, and Chase was ordered to issue all the unemployment back pay that was withheld from me due to this. Leading factors that led to my favorable ruling included my exemplary performance review record, my job history that included no prior terminations and multiple performance accolades, and there being no evidence or mention of misconduct of any kind prior to the term showing up on my termination at Chase. I regularly observed the primarily Armenian staff treat non-Armenian customers differently, especially if they were African American. A black music artist came in with a large check from a well known record label. He had an account at the bank, and yet the teller - one of my bullies - treated him like he did something wrong. They delayed depositing his check, grouped together at the window, and made this big loud unnecessary scene to embarrass him. They acted as if they were concerned about fraud and claimed they had to verify the authenticity of the check. They were not discreet and made sure all the other customers in the branch could hear every word. It was so over-the-top and cruel. There were many instances like this. Other times, sexual harassment would be ignored. A regular older male customer would always say inappropriate things to female staff. He took it further one day when he grabbed and groped one of my coworkers in the waiting area. I, a manager, and several tellers saw everything. The cameras probably caught him at 5 different angles in HD. But no one intervened and no one reported him to the police - or even banned him from the branch. While he was holding my coworker, I rushed towards her and said we need to call the police. An assistant manager physically stopped me and confusingly said to do nothing. When Taleen learned what happened, she didn't even follow up with the victim. I was the only one who did, and I encouraged her to contact the police. This man wasn't the only creep who was allowed to keep coming in to the branch. Another older man would also regularly harass female staff and try to get us to go on dates with him. One day, he pretended to text on his phone, but I saw that he was secretly taking video of me and another female coworker. I yelled at him and he stopped the recording, presumably saving what video he was able to get. I immediately reported this to the supervisor, and she did absolutely nothing AGAIN. I can't believe that a fellow woman would go out of her way to lie and deprive me of my livelihood at the time, because I reported two bullies who happen to be the same ethnicity as her. She's okay with two sexual deviants regularly abusing staff and being around children and families in her branch. Taleen was okay knowing that one of the bullies she defended regularly stole from the cash drawer. It was a well known joke amongst the workers - including management! She was okay giving this same girl the answers to a test she had to take to become a manager, because the bully was too stupid to pass on her own. Taleen was okay with all of this, but I had to go. How does a person like this sleep at night? This isn't a typical bad workplace, in my opinion. There is something truly evil at this branch. Taleen, if you're reading this, I want you to know that what you did didn't hold me back. I was working at the bank to pay for school and take care of my mom. Now, I have a job in my field, am happily married, retired my mom, and I'll be a mom soon too. What you meant for evil, God meant for good. It was good that I was removed from such a horrible place. My father was a very loyal customer of this bank until he passed. We went in hoping to establish an existing trust and close his account. First, they claimed they didn't have 50,000 on hand and it would take 48 hours to get it. This is a huge RED FLAG to any potential customer. They then called back and refused to cash the check they themselves issued bc we were not clients there (right, we just closed my deceased fathers long term account. ) I wouldn't use Chase if it were my last and only option. So disappointed. Would never recommend to anyone who asks. Lastly, this branch has a phone system they NEVER answer that does not take messages. Super helpful. The worst customer service ever ! I tried to cash my check in the morning, no one in line but they kept telling me what they could not do and i felt really discriminated against. They kept pointing things out on the check as if it was a fraud situation, i kept asking questions about their process but the teller lori wouldn't even run the check or do her due diligence to verify the check. The joke is on them because I really don't have any money but I went into the bank today and Robert was unbelievably informative, resourceful and attentive to making sure all problems were resolved. I had a question about something else and Nick was able to answer that as well and I left the bank today feeling secure that what money I have is being tken care of and handled. The employees Nick and Eric with whom I generally work with are very professional, courteous, knowledgeable, efficient and have always been appointment cooperative in all our business, personal, and estate accounts. Even though I now live 30 minutes from Burbank, I still make an appointment to meet with them because I trust their work ethics completely. The branch manager at Chase Bank on Magnolia Blvd., in Burbank demonstrates one of the worst characteristics a leader can - apathy - she offers no concern, no interest, .... clearly no enthusiasm in serving the interests of her institution, staff, or clients. Maybe there is a better Chase Branch - and just maybe Chase Bank has become so strong they no longer feel they need to concern themselves with their customer's experiences. I love Chase Bank. I rarely if ever find myself needing to stop at the bank with the technological advances I have acclimated to with my IPhone. I usually deposit checks via the app on my phone, but every once in a blue moon the Chase server will be down or some other reason and I find myself driving to the bank. This location is super close to my house but can be a little difficult to get to with the traffic that usually is found on Magnolia at all times of the day. After making the left down the side street I usually don't have any trouble finding parking. There are two lots to choose from for this Chase location. The staff are always very friendly and efficient, working well to keep the lines moving rapidly. I usually never have to wait too long inline before it's my turn with a teller. I have never had a problem with this bank, and am so very glad I made the switch from Wells Fargo years ago. The only criticism I could put out there would be, stop building so many locations. You are kind of turning into the new Starbucks, you are popping up on every free corner. There are 6 Chases located within a mile of my house and 3 starbucks. Crazy! read more

This is now my Chase Bank. Omigosh. The banker, his name is Robert Chiranian. He is a SUPERSTAR. I have never met anybody in the financial services field who is THIS exceptional at both his profession and customer service. I would recommend his to be an Investment Banker on Wall Street on the ground floor because he makes things happen. Not to mention, this is not even my branch, he has never seen me before and he is still on the phone going to bat and definitely winning with logic and articulation. He knows how to communicate. Like no other professional in his industry. He stayed well after closing for me, about 40 minutes after on a Friday night. Another thing, is that instead of asking every banker at the Santa Monica Wilshire office for help until you get ao mad that you just leave, Robert offered to help us right away. This Chase location may be one of the more dingy ones, a bit awkwardly placed on the street with small inside but that doesn't mean it isn't a great bank. The service here is just as good as all of the others even if it is the ugly duckling in the flock of LA Chase Banks. The location is actually quite convenient being near such a hot area in Burbank. I come here a lot to make withdraws and deposits via the ATMs facing the street. I've also set up a direct deposit account with ease and swiftness, delivered by the excellent service representatives inside. They were all very kind and pleasant to talk to. They knew all answers to every question I had for services irrelevant to direct deposit as well. The particular representative who helped me set it up went above and beyond to assist me even though I was running into some issues. He has excellent patience and a proactive style. Let me say this, every time I come there they are fast with there service. I lost my debit card and I looked at the time I sat down to explain what I need to the time I got my new card was 5.36 min. They are FAST. they are kind and understanding. Everyone there and I have been going to the bank for at least 4 years. So thankful for them.
