This place is a little hidden treasure shop full of fun unique fabric, buttons, ribbons, thread, patterns and so much more. I've been dying to stroll in but I tend to hit up this neck of the woods (more like courtyard) after the sun goes down so I was ecstatic to drop in after a visit to Wells Fargo next door. This place was so packed full of eye candy that I just had to take a few photos. I purhcased a beautiful tropical piece of fabric that screamed Paradise and some extremely large wooden buttons they almost look like coconut shells. I'm on a mission to make make-up bags for my sisters and I. We'll see... hopefully finish this mini project before Christmas. The lovely lady who runs Findings is super sweet and warmhearted. Yes, I had lusted for it after having seen another woman holding it and showing it off at a fabric store in San Jose. I was drawn to it, like a fly to a disgusting piece of poop. Except the aforementioned poop was a gorgeous silk fabric - and I wanted it. Badly. But I found out from her that I'd have to drive my lazy arse down to Carmel-by-the-sea to get this silk. And so I did. What I didn't realize, was that Carmel-b-t-s has absolutely no addresses. So my hunt became even harder. Luckily, there's this new technology called a "phone" that I was able to use to ask where it was exactly located. This cute little store, on San Carlos St (between Ocean Ave and 7th Ave in Carmel Square) has buttons, notions, ribbons, and some great but limited fabrics. There were some good fabrics for interior designs. Nancy, the owner, is just a peach. She's helpful and friendly and everything I wish most fabric store employees would be like. I heart Carmel, and this shop just adds to its charm. Would love to come again and look around for more good "findings" :-)

We walked in this sewing store and thought it was a very nice store. They had great fabrics, my daughter who is 15 and a very avid sewing person who makes very elegant gowns. We were FaceTiming with my daughter to show her fabrics in the store. Then this lady who I assume is the owner with long gray hair came over . she had quite the attitude and wondered why my wife was wandering around taking pictures with her camera. then she goes on to say that she doesn't like stuff like that in her store and she gets nervous when people are filming and what are we doing in there? We told her we were showing our daughter on face time what kind of fabrics they have as she may have been interested in purchasing them. Mr and my wife thought this was super rude also in front of other customers and employees in the store. If she is the owner shame on her. If she is an employee, she should go work someplace else. I told my wife let's go right in front of the lady and other patrons and told her this is a great way to get business. We will never be going to the store again and will tell everybody about our experience.

Step foot through the doors and you'll be sent into a world of fabrics infused with aisles of colors, textures, accessories, and resources to help level up your quilting skills. And within a few minutes, we were greeted by their staff to provide any guidance or assistance navigating their wares. We were only browsing on this occasion but for those in search of quilting accessories, this is a haven with a variety of fabrics for you to choose from in order to piece together the next masterpiece. We spent a good 15 minutes just perusing the store and all the knickknacks that were available. The samples hanging on the walls were inspiring! The prices seemed reasonable and with the raw materials being affordable and accessible for making such beautiful pieces of art is probably a good reason this hobby still exists. I think what stands out is the quality of the fabrics as the texture and feel of them definitely seem more durable and sustainable than what you'd get through an online store. Overall, The Granary Quilt Shop keeps the quilting community thriving with their shelves full of fabrics and quilting accessories. The team members here are seasoned vets in the hobby and are extremely friendly to support your quilt making needs. A specialty shop with a brick and mortar presence is a fading trend but this shop has clearly made its mark, has a good following among its local community members, and continues to bring in new customers with sales and family activities. I thoroughly enjoyed shopping at Ms. Fabulous (and they have an online presence) for a different take on some of these staples (horizontal striped sweater) as well as a few things that are totally different. The prices are super competitive; I didn't feel like anything really soared over $70-100 as a single piece. The clothes feel better made than anything at Forever 21 or Charlotte Russe. And, the shopowner is LOVELY to talk to and was able to recommend other shops in Carmel's downtown that might pique my interest. She said that if people express favorite brands or styles, she tries to reach back out when she gets new items in stock. Amazing. I bought a few items from here, and I will probably try to go back any time I'm in Carmel.
