I thoroughly enjoyed shopping at Ms. Fabulous (and they have an online presence) for a different take on some of these staples (horizontal striped sweater) as well as a few things that are totally different. The prices are super competitive; I didn't feel like anything really soared over $70-100 as a single piece. The clothes feel better made than anything at Forever 21 or Charlotte Russe. And, the shopowner is LOVELY to talk to and was able to recommend other shops in Carmel's downtown that might pique my interest. She said that if people express favorite brands or styles, she tries to reach back out when she gets new items in stock. Amazing. I bought a few items from here, and I will probably try to go back any time I'm in Carmel.

I was in the shop when the so called "brash and unfriendly" treatment towards "trans and non-binary people" occurred... What I saw/heard was a shop owner trying to protect his product. The hat in question is lovely. Obviously the owner's wife put in a lot of time and care. The proprietor asked the obviously sweaty, visually male customer not to try on the "women's" hats. Did I think this was because he is "homophobic/transphobic""? No. Women's hats run smaller than men's hats. No one wants to try on a hat (men's or women's) that was tried on previously by a sweaty, big headed person. It isn't like you can take a hat home and wash it in the laundry. Quality hats are not play things to try on and possibly damage, stretch, or dirty. If you are a sweaty mess, you have no business trying on any hat. Also, it was not the shop owner who asked you to leave... you said "well I guess I won't try on any hats then" to which the owner replied, "You can do what you want. Maybe next time you will ask the proprietor to help you find an appropriately sized product before you go stuffing your over-sized, sweaty self in it.

She then turns off the light and says "we're closing in 5 minutes" and walks away to another shop across from her store. They had a limited amount of clothing options to choose from, they all seem seasonal but one jacket caught my eye. Their "Members Hoodie" and I ended up going with this zip up hoodie. Although it's a bit expensive it is a pretty hyped up brand for street wear and golfers. I'm also a big believer that golf translates close to pickleball (which I play) so the style matches well. The store is really small but they have another section of the store in the back courtyard with even more Malbon gear. Although limited you might find something you like. The employee was also super friendly and checked up on us a lot so I was super happy about that.

They also have many…read moreother furnitures and art pieces from other artists around the country or other part of the world. Every time we visit, we rarely get away from not buying something there. From a beautiful round rustic teak dining table to unique mid century leather chairs, they just fit, look, and feel perfectly in our home. Some of these pieces were huge but they have a great/reasonable shipping service that drives and delivers weekly in Southern Cali. The staff is always friendly and helpful. My wife and I just love Palomas Home Furnishings.
