The clothes they design are one-of-a-kind! The products they sell are unique and whimsical. I can't leave without purchasing something. They also carry children's books, puzzles, toys, arts & crafts. This is the "FUNNEST" store. I meant to mis-spell this word by the way. Very creative and colorful finds. One of a kind jammies and bathrobes made of the softest materials. Super silly wall clocks, hard to pick a favorite, but being a Pisces, I would choose the fish w/the Big Red Lips. The gals there are so nice and super helpful. They also have a host of other whimsical finds, you may not find any place else. Next time you are in Pacific Grove, you must pop in. I guarantee, you will leave with a smile on your face and maybe a treat for yourself. read more

We always stop by Tessuti Zoo since discovering it a few years ago and this time we went to buy a birthday gift for our 25 year old niece and I fell immediately in love with a big colorful bird created by the co-owner Emily. Not a moment of hesitation - I had to have it - and it has now joined the other treasures we have bought or been gifted that were also made by Emily. We also found a great fish for our niece which I know she will love. If you like colorful, whimsical, creative, fun, well made items you will love this store. PS. So glad we found her new spot. Thought tight quarters and many little nooks and crannies, it was nice to find this favorite spot of ours, and can never leave without purchasing a little gift (for myself this time). My wife couldn't get out to come in due to her mobility and the owner was so gracious to go out to the car to see her and greet her and see if she wanted anything. AND a select group of bracelets, earrings, necklaces, and what have you for the older set who are still young at heart. The only requirement you have to follow is to check online and see what the hours are these days. They are not open every day as they used to be, pre-pandemic. This great store is a must on our trips to Pacific Grove. There's a good deal of whimsy throughout the store, not at all kitschy - it's simply fun. Just fun stuff to see, fun stuff to buy. We forgot to pick up a wall clock on the morning we left for home, so we called and spoke with Santino who texted us images of all the clocks and their general dimensions - that's good customer service. We chose our clock, closed the deal on the phone, and it arrived the VERY next day (Northern California)! Thank you Santino, you're the best. It looks delightful in our kitchen. I am so sorry to say that I am watching this wonderful store packet itself up and go out of existence. It's been part of Pacific Grove for more than several years and has always been a delight to walk by and see the unique things that they have. I remember lanterns for the good all days and there were always a solid source for a lanterns from a PG Guy who needed the lanterns. I am sure that it was something to do with Covid and lack of traffic in Pacific Grove that caused or helped caused the demise of this wonderfully vendor. I hope they know that we will appreciate their efforts in our town. Good job guys!!! read more

What a fun shop! Whenever I'm in Pacific Grove I stop there with my quilter friends. The sewing projects that are for sale are amazing. This is a unique local children's and gift shop right next to the natural history museum. Parking is street only, although on weekends that permit only lot across the street becomes open to the public. This is smaller intimate shop jam parked with color, creativity and life. The owner is a master seamstress/artist which means the clothing and furniture are her own creations. They are riotous with color and whimsy. The owner has also tapped her employee's talents as well. The ridiculously awesome tiara's scattered around (I'm a big fan of the mermaid themed ones) are the work of the staff. Leaving aside those items-because while they are awesome sure enough not everyone will need custom children's art furniture-they also carry a good stock of toys, games, and gifts for the young or the young at heart.If you want to teach your child sewing this would be a great place to start. There's some basic child starter stuff here including improbably some mccalls patterns. Some home decor stuff as well-butterfly wreaths, mirrors and suchlike. There is a child sized dressing room/mirror alcove, but be warned that kids like to go in there and play as opposed to being tightly focused on task. A great and innovative spot for children's (even if that child is 37 years old) gift items for sure. read more

I stopped near here accidentally parking waaay too far from my desired location. I saw the hours and waited the time and it was oh so worth it. I could have purchased everything in here! I held back and purchased the most beautiful silk robe and some little things for my daughter. I would have bought her a dress and I fully regret it. I plan to call and purchase over the phone and get it sent to me as the lovely store lady said she could accommodate this. If you can make the trip to the store in person you absolutely should. Amazing amazing amazing store. It's almost like Tim Burton, Roald Dahl, and Dr. Suess has a boutique baby. It's colorful, extremely whimsical, and FUN! There's so much to look at that we walked around 3 or 4 times and saw new things to appreciate each round. We got our 8 month old daughter the greatest car toy (made of soft vivid turquoise velvety material) and the cutest "monster" face beanie. When she's older we will definitely be buying her one of the owners handmade dresses (one of a kind, whimsical). The owner also makes house coats for adults equally awesome and whimsical. My two-year-old and I both love Tessuti Zoo! My husband is a Monterey native, and though we are less-is-more about buying toys, there is always a unique, creative gift to find for our son here. Not only do they have an incredible selection of handmade, one-of-a-kind gifts, but the people working here really care. My son is incredibly shy, and when we visited in his infancy, everyone was kind and helpful, suggesting age-appropriate toys that my son loved. This place is really cute. Really colorful and had merchandise for children and adults. Unique gifts, stuffed animals, novelties, and more. The lady working though kept following us around everywhere and became very upset every time our daughter touched anything, which made us super uncomfortable. It was a little rude, I was right there watching her and I made sure she wasn't going to break anything or touch something that she shouldn't but she just wanted to look, like any customer. My hubs & I were in Pac.Grove last wknd for our 20th anniversary & happened to have driven past this cute little boutique too many times to not stop.It had just started to rain & fortunately for us,we found parking right in front! *which isnt easy to do in that area!" wow, a fabulous store, if you don't know, tessuti, means silly crazy fun etc. every time i am in pacific grove, i have to stop at tessuti zoo. they have everything imaginable. from kids toys, and great books to wonderful dolls, and really fun jewelry (that both owners make). there are 2 ladies who own the store, and they are just delightful. i tell all of my friends to stop by. my sister lives out of the country, and when she comes to visit, we make sure we visit. every time, i wear one of the great bracelets, that i have bought over the years, people stop me and ask where i got them. i always try to buy my gifts there, because, they are so unusual that no one else will have bought the same thing. thank you for a wonderful store. read more
