Prior to 2020 I was a frequent shopper at Charley's. I just didn't get back into the swing of things for a while. I saw that the business was under new management. I follow them on Facebook and cheered their commitment to community! They promote supporting small business. When Rehoboth Baking Co found themselves having to close the doors on their space Charley's stepped right in and offered them to set up shop in their store! Once I saw that I knew i'd be going back! How could I not! Today was the day! I was greeted by a friendly gentleman behind the counter who I believe was the owner. I bought some of their famous square burgers, if you haven't tried them you need to, and a perfect ribeye steak. I cooked it last night and it was absolutely delicious! Charley's has a wide variety of meats. They also offer bundles. That will be my next purchase. They have quality meat, signature seasonings, friendly people, and reasonable prices. What's not to love!

Great selection of meats and breads.

Great local butcher and convenience store. If you need a large cut of meat (ribs, pork butt), this is your place.

If you like to cook at home - this should be your go to butcher shop! I was recently introduced to Chartley's by a family member and found it as a great way to get a high quality, locally sourced array of meats at very reasonable pricing. I purchased a large pork section (whole bone in pork loin) - the butchers did there thing while I looked at the rest of the store and I left with enough pork varieties to make 11 dinners for 2 people at under $38 bucks!! The pork chops we're all packaged 2 to the pack and the ribs and roasts each had there own packages - making it very easy to put everything but that nights dinner away quickly! I at first was taken aback at the prices on the beef sections but after seeing how it works with the pork - I now realize the huge value in purchasing meats this way. If you are looking for freshly butchered meats - this is the place to go. While you are there you can also grab a selection of produce, canned and dry goods and even old fashion candies!

It's a meat market so not much to say. Turkey Hamburg was good. They are clean. Some prices are high, others reasonable.

I got the fisherman platter which included fish and chips, perfectly cooked fried nice and crispy fries, with fried clams and fried scallops. Fries were perfect and came with a nice little coleslaw cup too. Couldn't finish it! My buddy got a baked stuff lobster and that took a few minutes. It was stuffed with scallops! We sat outside at one of two little tables. It was a nice day, very pleasant out and quiet a few locals came in to grab take out. The place is well regarded. The owner's dad was cooking, and his girlfriend Kathy I believe ran the counter and both were super nice to talk to. Told us their story. I almost bought one, but they didn't have any XL today. It's located in a little plaza not far from Attleboro that has the Chartley Country store. A beautiful, scenic ride through Rehoboth. Upon entering, their piggies forage freely and happily in a large, penned off wooded area to your left, and you can also ask to see their cattle grazing a little ways back in lush, green pastures. If you're lucky you might catch one of their chickens strutting around the premises. They sell their beef, eggs, and pork year 'round and it's some of the most nutritious you can buy (no hormones or antibiotics, all grass-fed/foraged - and hot dogs/sausages/bacon are all nitrate-free). Nothing gets wasted - organ meat, bones, etc. are all for sale and the prices are so reasonable for what you're getting. Back to the Pick Your Own: Dufort Farms has over 1,000 blueberry bushes for you to pick from! Yes, over ONE THOUSAND!! And all different varietals! Staged planting so the picking season should run through the middle of September. These are hands down the sweetest, plumpest blueberries I've ever had the pleasure of eating. At $3.5/lb or $3/lb if you pick 5lbs or over, with little if any pesticide sprays used, I don't think this place can be beaten. It's a GREAT place to bring the kids, bring your friend or partner, or just go by yourself and immerse yourself in "blueberry heaven". Keep in mind, no bathrooms and no pets allowed, so plan accordingly. The owners are incredibly helpful, kind and friendly. They'll give you these water-jug buckets for picking, and when you go to pay they'll dump them into a plastic grocery bag, so they encourage you to bring your own containers. Keep in mind buckets hold a little UNDER 5 lbs, so if you want to take advantage of the $3/lb deal, you'll want to ask for 2 buckets. My comments have been flooded with Market Basket requests since I started this journey. For full transparency, I didn't know MB existed until I started DOGGIN these chickens. I walked in with my production team, and was so caught off guard. Employees smiling from ear to ear while being dressed to the nines, floors squeaky clean, a fresh popcorn station, a delectable looking hot bar, etc. There is just so much soul in here. This is what a family run grocery store looks like before they sell out. You can just tell, this is their baby. They care so much. They put their heart and soul into running these stores, and it shows. I felt like I was in a Bucee's, and I don't know if I could give a higher compliment. Perhaps the most surprising thing of all was the $4.69 rotisserie chicken. This marks the cheapest tissi Chicken Wars has ever seen. Cheaper than Costco and Sam's Club. How are they doing this? My one concern was that the chicken came in saran wrap, which I thought would make the skin all soggy. The other 32 grocery stores I've tried all came in a plastic bag or plastic container. However, I respected the confidence. They're not scared to do something no one else is doing. Talent hits a target no one else can hit, genius hits a target no one else can see. We got this bird and took it to a park down the street, and I began consumption. The skin was ideal, a perfect golden brown with a slight crisp. The saran wrap didn't make it soggy at all. The breast was perfectly tender and was delicious. I didn't need one sip of water throughout the whole bird. The leg was operating at a high level as well, falling off the bone. I sat on this park bench in awe. How? How can this be $4.69, a good size, and this good? It didn't make sense. I'm still struggling to come to terms with it. I ended up giving it an 8.9/10, which makes it tied for 3rd with the Fresh Market. My only critique is it didn't have as much flavor as Fairway or Publix, but it was right there. I was so inspired that I went back in and tried to buy a hat, but they didn't sell any smh. I was especially thankful for this, as we needed a road win in New England. The other 2 birds I tried up here were ROUGH. A nice side effect of this journey has been traveling to try new birds. Every time I travel, I feel like I gain a wealth of knowledge in a short period of time. I grow and learn every time I go to a new place, and to me, that's what life is all about. The chicken was not cooked well and had that rubbery texture where you have to really pull with your teeth to break it. I threw it away after 2 bites and I'm gagging thinking of it. This could be a one off, but I'm really bummed about wasting $12 on my one spend day of the week! I have some other little gripes that honestly bring down my old rating too. We bought some stuff from the shop, which is still really cute and offers a lot of local (though very upcharged) stuff. And when we checked out, there's a line for tip! Everyone feels weird leaving a tip line blank, so why is it there! Just to make us feel awkward?!? All they offer to drink is hot coffee or cold brew, everything else is a deli or store or serve yourself food so why even tipping!
