We watched a safety video, signed a waiver, paid, then loaded up in the shuttles for a ride to the Vail Pass starting point. The first mile or so of the ride are switchbacks, so go slowly. Then coast on the straightaway to Copper Mountain. Get a chair to view the ski area. Restaurants and coffee shops are around, plus restrooms. Then ride into Fresco. Be sure to stop at the free museum with the log buildings. So fun! Mornings are cool, so wear long sleeves or a jacket. Jeans or leggings or on warmer days, shorts are fine. Afternoon rides can get rained on. The team at Alpine Sports are helpful and friendly. We recognize their faces after riding for many years. You can decide which level you need for the hill. As long as you pedal, the bike will assist you when you have the battery turned on. You control your own descent with the usual gear and your handbrakes. I thought our instructions from the guy at rebel Sports was excellent, and he told us some great paths to take. They gave us helmets and a bike lock. I had a bungee that held my water bottle perfectly. The customer service was great. All of us were wearing masks while checking out and returning the bike. Located on Main Street in the Frisco Pedestrian promenade, it's really convenient. You can also enjoy food and drinks in the area when you get back! This place had the best prices and the people were super chill and nice. They saved our paperwork for the whole week and we just walked in and grabbed our stuff most days. I recommend booking online. It's 30% less, we learned that the hard way for the first couple days when we didn't realize it. After that, we were golden. We would definitely rent from them again.

Talked to Matt to arrange this slightly unusual transaction - and he was totally cool with it. My bike was supposed to arrive one week before me, so Matt and his guys were going to have a week to build it (charging literally 40% of what it would have cost me in the SF Bay Area). Well, FedEx delayed shipping by one week, so my unbuilt bike and I arrived the same day. No problem, Matt's guys had the bike built the next morning. And the bike was great. Came in for a few more adjustments (it's a new bike) - and they were super helpful, knowledgeable, and still reasonably priced. I also really appreciated once or twice when I asked them for something, they told me it was outside their expertise, instead of making things up (those things all had to do with road bike fit). When the time came for me to head home, I was able to leave my Diverge with Matt and his guys again. I wasn't sure whether I'd get to go back to CO or not right away, and Matt was totally cool to hang on to the bike until I figured out what I'm doing. Sadly, I couldn't come back to CO right away, and missed my Diverge, so Matt had the bike packed and shipped literally within hours of me asking him to do so. Billing me, once again, 40% of what it would have cost in the Bay. So in summary - great guys, great shop, super professional, super accommodating, with fantastically reasonable prices. And they rent beautiful Yeti's and e-bikes. You should definitely check them out.
