When I moved to Rochester, MN, I had to get various services set up. I got my cable and internet services from Charter Communications. Back then, to get them set up, you couldn't do it over the phone. In a way, I was glad because I didn't have that service set up at the time, either! I went to the closest Charter location to get both services set up. It made sense to go with cable internet at the time. I could have the same company for both my TV and internet. I went with a deluxe channel lineup for my TV. When I got a DirectTV account, I downgraded to basic channels with Charter. It worked perfectly. I don't remember any full cable outages. I always got to see my TV shows. My cable internet service wasn't perfect. When it was down, it was down. Luckily, I didn't have the need to work from home. However, when you're trying to do tasks online and you can't, it was a pain. When I moved back to Winnipeg, cancelling my services was smooth. I was pleased. I hope that internet services offered by Charter are more stable these days. Otherwise, I had a good experience with the TV side. (51)

They have so many hidden fees and costs that aren't disclosed up front. If you notice an issue on your billing statement, you won't get your money back. I had Charter internet 7 years ago and vowed I would never use their services again. Fast forward to this year, and I was swindled into a deal that sounded too good to pass up by a traveling Charter Spectrum sales rep. It has been nothing but frustration and headache trying to cancel this service. I could go on and on, but just do yourself and your sanity a favor and go with literally ANY other service than Charter Spectrum. This business needs to be formally shutdown.

I work from home and lost out on plenty of money due to the unreliable speed. When I cancelled my internet service the customer service rep said he could save me some money on my cable in order to keep my business. I agreed to this assuming it was their tactic to keeping business, but he did not mention that he would be removing my sports packages in order to do so. Total bait and switch approach and completely unethical! I've always paid for the highest level cable package with full channels, and I was essentially lied to considering he simply didn't feel the need to bring up he would be removing channels in order for me to save money. Trust me, you're better off using Comcast, Dish, HBCI, or any other provider you can find. It will be well worth it not having to deal with the headaches of slow internet and poor overall service!

When we put in to cancel the service we were told they would send us a return box. It never showed.
