I have been here a few times and each time the pizza has been fantastic. I esp[ecially like the pepperoni. The service has always been friendsly as well. I have been there for lunch once when I did not order the pizza. Instead I went with the Meatball Sandwhich which was very good --- and HUGE (and when I say huge, consider the fact that I am 6'2" 245lbs with an appetite!) -- and it came w8ith a side salad (or smashed yukon potaotores, if preferred). I took ha;f of the samwhich home. My wife got the Farmhouse Salad and, just like the sadwhich, was also enormous. However, it's called Cahrred "Pie" for a reason -- and the pizza here, baked in their custom pizza over, is very very good. The only "complaint" I have with Charred Pie is that they close too early. Till 8:00 on weekdays and 9:00 on weekeends. So if you get there at 7:00 -- a very reasonable dinner time -- you feel rushed after 45 minutes as the staff is cleaning up around you. So let me start by prefacing this with we visited now twice, several weeks apart and both visits these guys are getting it done in a safe and very welcoming environment. Allow me to start with my first visit I was hungry and dragged here after a long work day and I was in no mood to eat somewhere new but I could not have been happier with the initial visit from every aspect you want in a great neighborhood restaurant. So the pics and staff review are over both visits. Now the staff weeks apart and on a busy Friday and then Saturday night and both times service was beyond 5 star. Connor on our first visit was patient and explained in great detail every question I had on menu items and by meals end I trusted him both with my tummy and taste buds, the man knows his fare. On to the next visit where Michelle took care of us and mind you it's myself, Alexis and my five year old and he's already a bit of a food critic in his own right. But she was just as patient, attentive and informed on the menu. Both made recommendations that did not disappoint. So here is where it gets the next star. Value, the menu items and everything coming out of the woodfore oven is enough for two, at least from what I have seen so far. Now let's start with the food which for taste is 5 stars and the dessert, yes save room is 6 stars in a fat man's opinion...wow. if you go order the wood fire bread at least once. The taste combined with the cheese and balsamic, the crispy onions and marmalade were a taste I wasn't prepared for and now I can go to heaven knowing the goodness of that appetizer. Ok so most that follow my reviews know I don't care for spicey and especially if there is no flavor and just heat. But again Conner said you have to try the wings....holy smokes the heat and flavor are perfectly balanced and leave your taste buds satisfied. Now let's talk pizza, because it is a pizza joint but so far pepperoni on the first visit with a side of honey...yes honey is legit, dont knock it without trying it. It was solid for sure. Second visit the pancetta and brie is legit....now the spaghetti and meatballs I added a bit of the spice from the wings just because the flavor for me was that good and I was like I'm adding a bit of this into the meatballs. I thought it was a flavor my non existent Italian grandma from Rome would be proud of! But enough for two in my book. Then this visit I had the Bloody Mary grilled cheese and holy shizknight!! It was possible that it's the best grilled cheese I have ever eaten in my life. This is a grilled cheese that you can easily add to the grilled cheese hall of Fame! Ok now for the desserts. No joke I always order ice cold milk when it's time to put in the work on dessert so first visit I did second I forgot. Why because the desserts are possibly the best things on the menu..the chocolate cake was so good! The s'mores is downright sinfully decadent and the carrot cake would make any rabbit jealous! It is food so good it's worth a trip across town or from Phoenix. Seriously if you can visit at least once! I'll be back and with the grandkids next time too...oh yeagh I'm mexican so yes I have a 5 year old and grandchildren older than their uncle...lol read more

Decided on Pizza for dinner. Nice open airy atmosphere when you walk in. Ordered the Italian meat bruschetta as an appetizer which was very tasty, about the only comment I can make on it is the bread was sliced a bit thick, still good but a lot of bread. Ordered the Pineapple Express pizza. It has fire roasted pineapple, pancetta, red onion and finished with cilantro and jalapeños. Great flavor but not enough pancetta. The jalapeños were wicked hot. Usually jalapeños don't even phase me as I love hot peppers. These were very spicy, in a good way but be careful. My dinner gueat had a lemonchello cocktail with dinner and I had a glass of Grenache and Tannet blend. Both were excellent with the Grenache pairing very well with the pizza. This place is fantastic. This is my second time here and both times were Phenomenal !!!!! The first time I got the bread service and enjoyed kind of making my own pizza with the unique sides. This time around I got the street corn pizza. It was also so uniquely delicious. I would probably get the bread over the pizza but I am so glad I tried it. I just wish I had someone to share with me. I also got the chocolate cake. It is slightly molten and very rich. I brought 1/2 home and plan on adding a lot more whip cream but well worth it! read more

Tried this place for the first time today. Only half the tables were occupied but was told a 20 minute wait because there were only 2 servers working. Food was standard. My waitress disappeared after leaving me the check. She was gone quite awhile. I asked another server who was setting up an adjacent table to run my payment through. She refused twice and said I would have to wait for my original server to process the bill. Incredulous! I had to wait 20 minutes for a table in a restaurant that was half full and now you are making me wait 10 more minutes because my server disappeared??? My husband and I ordered the lunch special today. We each got a small salad and an individual pepperoni pizza. The salad was OUT OF THIS WORLD! The best salad I have enjoyed in a long time at a restaurant. The freshest leaf lettuce! Just beautiful and delectable! For a place that is "known" for the pizza, I must say we were very disappointed. We ordered pepperoni pizzas. The crust of the pizza was very good and well baked. The pepperoni was WAY too salty and there was simply TOO MUCH OF IT. This caused the entire pie to be overly greasy and it was inedible. I would have marketed it as a "pepperoni pie with extra grease." Service was quite good. PLEASE reconsider the amount of pepperoni on each pizza and the quality of it, as well. Charred Pie, My wife and I are in Arizona two weeks for Christmas. A week ago, Saturday, December 26th we stopped by to order two pizzas to go, Green & Cheesy (add Sundried tomatoes) and Pancetta & Brie. Upon getting home we immediately put the Green & Cheesy in a large chest freezer and ate the Pancetta & Brie. In the evening two days later (Monday Dec. 28th) , we took the Green & Cheesy out of the freezer,, warmed it in the microwave, and ate it. A few hours later, upon going to bed, we both felt sick. We then spend the next 12 hours with violent vomiting and diarrhea. We were both in bed all the next day, couldn't even keep water down. I'm still not feeling totally back to normal. There is no question that it was the pizza. There was absolutely nothing either of us ate or drank prior to getting sick that was in common between us except the pizza. Only the pizza! I realize I should have contacted you and the Pima County Health department sooner but you don't feel like doing much with your head in the toilet. And, there was only some crust left in the box so I'm not sure what testing would have shown at that point. I know how this works. I wouldn't expect you to admit or accept blame or admit to any other reports, but you need to know that this incident occurred. Hopefully you will re-double your efforts to assure safe ingredients in the future. We of course won't be returning. One final issue. While we were sitting in the dining room waiting for the pizza's, we noticed a fairly large guy working to our left behind the prep area that wasn't wearing a mask. Well, to be more exact, he had a mask on covering his chin, but both mouth and nose were uncovered as he was talking to the girl next to him. I hate writing negative reviews, so I wait...hoping things will improve. I'm sorry to say things have only gotten worse each time I come to this place! After repeatedly getting my takeout order wrong (missing items, wrong order, not following instructions...), they took the prize of the worse 2021 experience so far. They sent the salad I ordered without dressing (I can live with that...) BUT when I opened the chicken, a long reddish-blonde hair was wrapped around one of the pieces!!! Considering I have dark brown hair and my parents both have grey hair....it was so revolting. The manager gave me a coupon for another free meal, replace the salad....at this point no amount of "oops" response is going to fix it. I was very unhappy and the manager wasn't a good listener - very much a "we fixed it, what else do you want" attitude. She wouldn't even let me finish my sentence...Not a good look. Charred pie is a delicious family restaurant. When I find myself hungry and in Oro Valley charred pie is the place to go. One night when I was at charred pie I needed to go to the restroom and so I did. The door was unlocked and it seemed empty, so I went in, and saw someone using the bathroom. I quickly went back to my table, and the person at the table next to me was the person I walked in on. Later (still having to use the bathroom) I went in and locked the door. The lock didn't work and someone walked in on me. The night wasn't going well. Later my parent went to the bathroom as we were leaving, and walked in on someone as well. I came for lunch on my day off with my mom, and we had a better experience and the food seemed to be better than my initial visit. There were maybe a couple too many patrons for my comfort during COVID, but I didn't feel too anxious. Staff had masks and tables were spaced. I would probably come back at a less popular time though. The patio was pretty full for lunch. We were seated quickly, and our server was attentive but not overbearing. We chatted and hung around for a long while. We love Aperol Spritzes, and they are on happy hour special here! They had a lunch special that sounded good, a salad with either a Margherita or Pepperoni pizza, but we didn't take advantage of that. We ordered the Gochujang wings and the Pancetta and Brie pizza. The wings were big and meaty, with just the right amount of heat, and they were really delicious. The pizza was much better this time around and seemed less soggy in the middle compared to my first experience. The pancetta and brie with basil and red sauce was a good flavor combo, too. I wasn't sure if I would like brie on a pizza, but it was very tasty. We ordered a gyro to go for my dad, and with that, a pizza, an app, and four drinks, our tab was $74, which isn't bad considering all that we ordered. My husband and I found this place several months ago. We've brought friends, family and even purchased gift cards to give to friends. Their pizza is good. However, they are hugely lacking in their policies. We made reservations to host a Christmas party for our church group. The original manager suggested an area of their patio that could easily accommodate our group and be as private as possible. Two days later, I decided to send a confirmation email, before I sent out invitations. The reply was staggering. They were no longer interested. They said we could only have 2 tables on the patio. Additionally, none of the tables on their patio could be moved to accommodate 10 people. Our group would be split up. The managers reasoning was the evening we had reserved was the Christmas tree lighting and therefore they did not want us. Way to support your community charred Pie. read more

The food is good but don't arrive within 30 minutes of the restaurant closing because they make it clear you're not welcome to dine 1 minute past their closing time. Twice now we've shown up with 6+ people, 30 minutes before the posted closed time. Normally restaurants want the business of that many people eating and drinking, but not charred pie. Because of Pies proximity to Honeybee Canyon and the 50 Year Trail it has become the Bro's post ride knosh stop. Ambience is pleasant and there always a game on. The IPA selection is only adequate but there's bottled brands for most palates. Sandwiches are very hearty and made with very righteous artisan bread. Italian Beef and Crispy Chicken are the faves. If you are biased toward crustlless Wonder bread sandwiches don't bother. Lemon pasta chicken is also a post ride hit. Service can be slow, but they appear short handed at the moment. Takeaway....it's a great lunch stop accompanied by a cold one. Disregard the snow bird evaluations that are sooooo self indulgent. Pie rocks....go now! read more
