I got a drink (Crown and ginger ale), the fried green tomatoes and the crab bites. Everything was delicious and the drink definitely would the price. The Rhythm Room is located in the heart of Peninsula Town Center which means finding parking was a bit of a challenge. My friend parked in a parking garage that was fairly close but I had to circle the block a few times and happened to find parking on the street almost 2 blocks away. Before we walked in, security checked our bags and were patting down the guys, which I thought was interesting seeing as though this was more of a restaurant than a bar/club environment but I guess you can't be too sure. We made reservations for 7pm and our table was ready as soon as we arrived. Our server was very nice and greeted us right away. We both ordered the Island Breeze cocktail and it was alright, it tasted more like juice than anything else. For appetizers, we decided on the Mac & Cheese Bites, Buffalo Crab Dip and the Salmon Bites. The food was served fairly quickly but the Mac & Cheese Bites were a bit dry and the Salmon Bites weren't very flavorful. The Buffalo Crab Dip was my favorite and had actually had an abundance of crab, which we enjoyed. We were hoping there would be a live band but was told there wasn't a band on Saturdays, which we thought would've been a nice touch since there's one on Fridays. Eventually, a DJ did show up so that helped create a vibe but it did start getting packed as the evening went on so we decided to leave. Overall, The Rhythm Room was pretty decent. It was a bit of an older crowd when we went but we had a good time nonetheless. If you live in Hampton or want to try out a new spot with a decent vibe, definitely check them out.

I visited the establishment at night, so it was dark and I don't have many pictures of the decor but it is nicely decorated. I do think that the restrooms could be better. They really do have a laid back, lounge atmosphere with low lighting and both intimate seating at booths with conveniently placed tables for smoking hookah for eating - and floor seating. The musical selection is mostly old school hip hop earlier in the evening. They told us a DJ would be there that evening, but he didn't arrive before we left a little after 10pm. Hookah is really my friend's thing, but I must say that their hookah is the best that I've had in the area. Period. Their menu items were a bit pricey, and we were there for the hookah - so I ordered the shrimp appetizer that came with a spicy citrus remoulade dipping sauce. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, not rubbery or chewy all. They were crispy on the outside and arrived to the table fresh and hot despite the fact that there was a moderate crowd. I will be returning for hookah and to try more of their menu items!

The coffee came out fast and it was very good. The ambiance of this place is excellent. Perfect for a quiet study session, reading, or date. The food on the other hand.... wasn't very good. The wait took almost 30 minutes. And felt premade and microwaved. Which in the restaurant business and coffee shops is sure is common. But when you charge the prices they do and take as long as they did to make. I cannot rate it any higher. Would not come back for food.

On this trip, which was late afternoon on a week day, I was craving a chai latte and stopped in to check it out. There was only one very pleasant young lady working and a pretty steady flow of customers so it did take a little longer than I'd hoped to be served but I enjoyed taking a look around the place while I waited. They have books, they have games, they have scheduled events (paint night for example) and they have a good variety of bakery items and hot sandwiches among other things. What a fun atmosphere! Oh and did I mention they also serve beer and wine! They have enough of a variety so there's sure to be something for everyone. You should definitly go and give it a try too.

They were also out of the snake river Wagyu ribeye and strip steak. We were told they didn't receive a shipment of meat. The food was really good regardless of that, luckily they had three orders of lamb chops left so some of us ordered the rest of that. I like that when you order a steak it already comes with two sides. Other steakhouses you would have to order sides à la carte. The cocktails were amazing and service was great. Only thing that was a little weird was we had two birthdays and asked the manager if they happened to do a complimentary birthday dessert or something for the two birthday guest. He responded politely with we don't do any birthday desserts but you can order champagne since it's a celebration. Mind you it's a party of 12 and each couple's bill was at least 250+. Nonetheless, we had a great time and money was well spent, definitely worth trying out!

I had walked past this place over a dozen times, always thinking it seemed a bit expensive. I finally decided to try it and confirmed that the prices were indeed high, which can be perfectly acceptable if the food quality matches the cost. Unfortunately, it didn't. I ordered the burger because it was the least expensive entrée on the menu at $24. While it wasn't bad, it certainly didn't justify the price. I'm not completely certain, but I strongly suspect the patty had been previously frozen. The bun also felt like a standard packaged brioche bun rather than something fresh or house-made. My buddy ordered a steak that cost nearly $100, but it looked like it had been cooked in a pan with little care or attention to detail. Presentation and preparation simply didn't match the premium price point. But he was given a tray of fancy salts to use on the steak? We also tried a flight of their three Old Fashioneds, and each one missed the mark. The Black Forest Old Fashioned tasted more like a cherry-forward cocktail than a whiskey drink, and their house Old Fashioned, which included Grand Marnier, came across more like a soda than a balanced, spirit-forward cocktail. Overall, while the food and drinks were decent, they fell well short of justifying the high prices. At this price point, I expected significantly higher quality, attention to detail, and execution. The saving grace was the wonderful and kind staff that work there. They were knowledgeable about the menu and were able to help guide you through your decisions with patience, which I would expect at this kind of restaurant.

Whether it's with friends or just the two of us, we've never been disappointed. Let's see how this visit went. We were immediately seated once we walked inside. It wasn't completely packed for a Saturday afternoon but staff was really busy with customers. The vibe was one that made us comfortable for the most part. After a few minutes of looking over the menu, we were ready to order. My selection was the Tavern Monte Cristo which consisted of chargrilled chicken and ham as the protein with Gouda cheese and cider aioli fried in a tempura batter with tavern fries. The meal was served hot and ready and tasted great. And having the cranberry coulis as a dipping sauce really added some taste. My only gripe with the sandwich was the amount of protein. I'm not sure if I ate most of it when we dined in, but when I ate the rest for dinner, it was more breading than anything else. Still good but they could've included more. Nonetheless, I was full. Good stuff as always from Park Lane Tavern :)
