    Crab cake and sauce
    Terry C.

This food truck was at the Shopapalooza festival which was a great option at a festival. Crab cakes- wow, so decided to give it a try. Service was slow due to only 2 people working the truck. We ordered large crab cakes, which weren't on the menu but available. This took a long time to prepare so when the enquire was made as to how others who ordered after all the crab cakes people the cook lost it and started shouting that it was a special order so it takes longer. He was shouting at this other guy and told him he can get him money back and to cancel the order. I can appreciate that this required a different preparation, however, the cook could have just explained why it takes longer instead of the attack. We got the crab cakes and fries. The cakes were fresh and not full of fillers which was nice. However, it could have had more seasoning. The sauce that it was served with made it tasty. It needed the sauce. The fries were good enough. Was expensive - 2 crab cakes, fries and a coke - $59US Would not go out of my way to go back to this truck.

I was immediately greeted when I approached the food truck. I ordered the crabby fries which are simply fries topped with blue crab dip and bell peppers. It was hot and fresh. The blue crab was flavorful but the rest of the dish was lackluster. I expected cheese sauce or something else to give the crabby fries full flavor.

Hi, I was at the Fresh Market at Wiregrass this past Saturday. The guy with the Blue Crab hat. I ordered (2) crab cake classics with fries. The crab cakes were small (not 7 oz.) and had more filler than I expected. It did have some large pieces of backfin but it did not look like the one pictured on you menu board or web site. I only got FF in one order (I thought I ordered for both) And I did not receive any Old Bay spice on the side. $ 58.00 for my order. Ouch. Sorry to say I was disappointed.

I was excited to try this food truck because I am from Baltimore and love crab cakes but I was disappointed with this experience. I had to wait for a bit to order while they finished preparing other orders and then waited for quite a long time for my food. The owners were very nice and apologetic. The crab cake tasted pretty good except for the taste of shells that I noticed. They asked if I wanted a bun and I said yes, but didn't get one, which is fine. I was asked if I wanted old bay fries and I said yes, but I got regular crinkle fries that tasted like frozen fries that had no seasoning (salt) and definitely were not old bay. The cookies were good, though. For almost $40 bucks for a crab cake, fries, and cookies, plus tip, it was not worth it.

Being a Maryland girl, I stalked this food truck for months before finally being able to try it. My first visit, there were highs and lows, but the lowest point was that the crab cake was very undercooked and mushy in the center, and I did not enjoy it. Fast forward to this past weekend when I thought I'd give them another try. I had the Classic Crab Cake Platter to-go. It came with a crab cake, set on a tomato and piece of lettuce, and french fries with Old Bay sprinkled on them. I asked for them to cook my crab cake longer this time, and I enjoyed it much more than my first visit. I thought there was a decent crab to filler ratio. In the future, though, they should probably avoid putting the hot crab cake on the cold lettuce and tomato, since that made them warm and mushy. Also - both the picture on their menu board, and their menu online says the platter comes with coleslaw, which it did not. The platter costs $21, which I think is high for what you actually get. The couple that owns this food truck are SO NICE, and I think they are trying really hard to make great Maryland food for the masses, so I'm sure I will be back.

Holy crab cake! I decided to give this food truck a go at the Johns Pass Seafood Festival and glad I did. The crab cake was huge and cooked perfectly. Tons of flavor. I don't ever say "it's the best of [blank] I've ever had but this one deserves the award for crab cakes. Will make the effort to search their truck out in the future!

I have eaten at A LOT of food trucks, but by far this has been the ABSOLUTE BEST! Charm City Eats! Your crab cake is to DIE FOR!!!

This is a food truck that was inspired by Maryland seafood and culture. Our family is from Baltimore and have been around crab cakes and seafood our whole lives so you can imagine the expectations. As you can see we ordered a bunch of food as we figured, "cannot wait to taste Baltimore here in Tampa!" but do not waste your time. I can provide you with several places around the Tampa area that provide you the level of "bang for your buck", quality, value, and satisfaction. Crab cakes barely had any crab, so much for lump crab. And the amount of fillers in all of the dishes turned this meal into a donation. I mean the owners were very nice but when you're hungry and spending over $100 you expect to have your taste buds to have an explosion with flavor. As much as it pains me to put this review for a fellow Baltimorean I have to be honest with the review. And even though the food truck had to cook our entire order twice because they gave the first round away to another customer by mistake - the food just wasn't what you'd really get in Baltimore. I can provide some areas in Baltimore to eat as well if anyone is interested.

This place has a rockin' crab cake sandwich. I went to the food truck Thursday in Channelside and the line for Charm City Eats was the longest (that's when you know it's good) so flavorful but which it had just a tad more sauce - The Sauce Boss

Egg rolls and truffle Mac was way overpriced

Found the food truck at a Tampa local event, Uncorked. I ordered the truffle mac and cheese and the egg rolls. Spent $40 for these two items so clearly expecting a great meal. Very disappointed. The Mac and cheese had some sort of crab shell throughout the dish and was not even edible due to this. Egg rolls were okay, but not $40 worth of okay. Over priced food truck.

Caught Charm City Eats up @ Dade City Brew House. Had the Bay Balls which are Three fried crab fritters served Old Bay seasoned fries. The Crab fritters we're about the size of a small baseball and we're very tasty. The Old Bay seasoned fries were also good.

I wish to humbly thank amanda for an amazing experience at this location! and our server, Amanda was definitely a little bit more personable, and let us know what our choices were which was great! We had Seafood boils and I ordered the headless shrimp and scallops and oysters and clams.I also ordered a crab cake, and I had some potatoes which were both delectable! Also the calamari was ok but plentiful! My wife ordered some headless shrimp, snow crab legs, scallop, lobster tail, corn with garlic, butter seasoning, mild My daughter ordered headless shrimp, snow crab, scallops, potatoes & eggs. With mild hungry seasoning The fried oysters had too much batter and the crab cakes though were delicious! I just felt that it needed a little bit more seasoning. The Hush Puppies was really good, and it comes with ranch dressing but amanda suggested the garlic butter sauce and it took it over the top, Especially with a little bit of a kick of heat, it's the perfect flavor! The raw oysters was divine and they were great in size, and they also give you cocktail sauce and horseradish and crackers and only $8 a dozen! And our server bought the food so quickly and it was just the appetizer to begin with! I just had the shrimp that was in my seafood boil, and it was so juicy and flavorful. The calamari was definitely on point as well! The potato was very good and soft and flavorful! Although the clams was very small, it did burst in my mouth full of flavor! The scallops was about a 5 out of 10 and they were a little bit smaller than I expected. The Shrimp, once again was definitely big and tasty and not rubbery or dry! Even though I got the garlic butter sauce, I asked for the hungry sauce to simply try it and in my opinion, it is the better tasting sauce! My wife said that her crab legs was perfectly cooked and very tasty! Ken the manager stopped by to receive the accolades for our server Amanda and our food and took the time to chat with us of which I thought was cool! We went on a Saturday afternoon at around 12 o'clock. And we were seated immediately. So there was no waiting! Amanda is off on Sundays so we recommend that you go there when she is there but either way, you will not be disappointed with the food because it definitely made our taste buds and stomach happy for an outstanding price too! Oh yeah, i also received a slice of cheesecake.Because it was my birthday and it was definitely divine! Thank you again Amanda and the entire Hungry Crab crew for an amazing experience!

Our server was very friendly and attentive. The all-you-can-eat option at the Tampa location is definitely worth it. I tried their house seasoning that combines all the flavors, and it was amazing. The food came out hot and fresh. The crab legs were big, the shrimp were large and juicy, and the scallops were huge and delicious. I also had corn, potatoes, eggs, and sausage, and everything was seasoned perfectly. I ended up getting two bags, so I definitely got my money's worth. After the seafood boil we tried a few appetizers and they were surprisingly great. The cheese sticks with Cajun seasoning were my favorite with that perfect cheese pull, and the wings and Cajun fries were delicious too. They also provide bibs, gloves, wipes, and crab tools, which makes the seafood boil experience even better. I've been to Mr. and Mrs. Crab and Dummy Crab, but in my opinion Hungry Crab beats them both. Great flavor, great experience, and definitely worth it!

The crabs were noticeably smaller than on previous visits, and my shrimp order arrived with the heads still on -- something I've never received here before. Our drinks sat empty for over eight minutes with no refills, even though the entire staff was gathered at the register talking among themselves instead of tending to guests. The food was still tasty, as always, but the service tonight earns a solid F. The manager was seated behind the counter and made no effort to address the lack of attention from her team. The manager remained behind the counter the entire time and never came over to apologize or acknowledge the inconvenience. Staff and service are often a reflection of leadership--or the lack thereof--and tonight made that painfully clear. I even attempted to refill my own drink because it was clear no one intended to check on us. I voiced my concerns before leaving, but this experience was disappointing enough that it may be a while before we return. The previous staff was far more attentive and consistently delivered excellent customer service. Management -- do better!

We arrived around 6:30 PM and weren't seated until well after 8:00. The restaurant had noted they weren't taking reservations due to the holiday, but you could join a waitlist upon arrival--which we did. What made it more frustrating was watching other large groups linger at their tables after finishing, leaving just one person behind to "hold" the spot while they went out to enjoy the festivities. Meanwhile, we saw smaller groups being seated, which made the wait feel even longer. Once we were finally seated, service started off a bit slow. It took some time for staff to come by, and when our food arrived, multiple servers were bringing out dishes without clear organization--walking around the table until someone claimed each plate. That said, the food itself was a highlight. I ordered the Chicken Quesadilla Fajita, which was delicious and a generous portion--enough for leftovers. I also tried the mango margarita; while it leaned more toward an orange flavor than mango, it was still enjoyable. The atmosphere was vibrant and fun, especially for Cinco de Mayo. There was lively music, colorful and creative wall art, and even a photo-op wall, which added to the experience. Parking, however, was another challenge--it was chaotic, with cars parked on curbs and anywhere they could fit. Overall, while the wait and initial service were frustrating, the food and atmosphere made it a memorable visit. I'd be willing to give it another try on a regular day to see how the experience compares--and to explore more of the menu, since everyone in our group enjoyed their meals.

Our favorites were the Labneh absolutely delicious and perfect taste and texture, humus was seasoned perfectly and falafel was good, but I can't say it was amazing though, something was missing in taste to me. We also ordered the mixed meat entree, portion was large, no way I could have eaten it alone! We shared and still had left overs. The entree came with Kufta Kabob, beef shawarma, chicken kabobs, beef shish kabob, tzatziki, fattoush salad, pita, basmati rice. We had wanted a side of extra tzatziki but instead received a large side dish of tzatziki (we let it go, but neither of us truly enjoyed the tzatziki that much. It was bland to our liking). The one thing we absolutely did not like was the bland, no dressing fattoush salad. It literally had no dressing, no taste, not recommended at all, as the side. So here's what we did like a lot was the chicken kabobs, beef shawarma, basmati rice, beef shish kebabs, kufta kabobs, humus, and loved the Labneh on and with everything. The chicken kabobs were our favorite meat, tender, juicy, seasoned perfectly! We truly enjoyed and savored the Pistachio Baklava, so yummy for dessert! Overall we gave the place a 4 out of 5. We enjoyed our food, service was attentive and friendly. We had to downgrade from a 5 because we did not like the no dressing fattoush salad and the tzatziki tasted bland to us (we are used to the more Greek style). We will be back to try some other dishes!
