Crab cake and sauce
Terry C.

This food truck was at the Shopapalooza festival which was a great option at a festival. Crab cakes- wow, so decided to give it a try. Service was slow due to only 2 people working the truck. We ordered large crab cakes, which weren't on the menu but available. This took a long time to prepare so when the enquire was made as to how others who ordered after all the crab cakes people the cook lost it and started shouting that it was a special order so it takes longer. He was shouting at this other guy and told him he can get him money back and to cancel the order. I can appreciate that this required a different preparation, however, the cook could have just explained why it takes longer instead of the attack. We got the crab cakes and fries. The cakes were fresh and not full of fillers which was nice. However, it could have had more seasoning. The sauce that it was served with made it tasty. It needed the sauce. The fries were good enough. Was expensive - 2 crab cakes, fries and a coke - $59US Would not go out of my way to go back to this truck.

Crabby fries

I was immediately greeted when I approached the food truck. I ordered the crabby fries which are simply fries topped with blue crab dip and bell peppers. It was hot and fresh. The blue crab was flavorful but the rest of the dish was lackluster. I expected cheese sauce or something else to give the crabby fries full flavor.

Hi, I was at the Fresh Market at Wiregrass this past Saturday. The guy with the Blue Crab hat. I ordered (2) crab cake classics with fries. The crab cakes were small (not 7 oz.) and had more filler than I expected. It did have some large pieces of backfin but it did not look like the one pictured on you menu board or web site. I only got FF in one order (I thought I ordered for both) And I did not receive any Old Bay spice on the side. $ 58.00 for my order. Ouch. Sorry to say I was disappointed.

I was excited to try this food truck because I am from Baltimore and love crab cakes but I was disappointed with this experience. I had to wait for a bit to order while they finished preparing other orders and then waited for quite a long time for my food. The owners were very nice and apologetic. The crab cake tasted pretty good except for the taste of shells that I noticed. They asked if I wanted a bun and I said yes, but didn't get one, which is fine. I was asked if I wanted old bay fries and I said yes, but I got regular crinkle fries that tasted like frozen fries that had no seasoning (salt) and definitely were not old bay. The cookies were good, though. For almost $40 bucks for a crab cake, fries, and cookies, plus tip, it was not worth it.

Being a Maryland girl, I stalked this food truck for months before finally being able to try it. My first visit, there were highs and lows, but the lowest point was that the crab cake was very undercooked and mushy in the center, and I did not enjoy it. Fast forward to this past weekend when I thought I'd give them another try. I had the Classic Crab Cake Platter to-go. It came with a crab cake, set on a tomato and piece of lettuce, and french fries with Old Bay sprinkled on them. I asked for them to cook my crab cake longer this time, and I enjoyed it much more than my first visit. I thought there was a decent crab to filler ratio. In the future, though, they should probably avoid putting the hot crab cake on the cold lettuce and tomato, since that made them warm and mushy. Also - both the picture on their menu board, and their menu online says the platter comes with coleslaw, which it did not. The platter costs $21, which I think is high for what you actually get. The couple that owns this food truck are SO NICE, and I think they are trying really hard to make great Maryland food for the masses, so I'm sure I will be back.

Holy crab cake! I decided to give this food truck a go at the Johns Pass Seafood Festival and glad I did. The crab cake was huge and cooked perfectly. Tons of flavor. I don't ever say "it's the best of [blank] I've ever had but this one deserves the award for crab cakes. Will make the effort to search their truck out in the future!

I have eaten at A LOT of food trucks, but by far this has been the ABSOLUTE BEST! Charm City Eats! Your crab cake is to DIE FOR!!!

This is a food truck that was inspired by Maryland seafood and culture. Our family is from Baltimore and have been around crab cakes and seafood our whole lives so you can imagine the expectations. As you can see we ordered a bunch of food as we figured, "cannot wait to taste Baltimore here in Tampa!" but do not waste your time. I can provide you with several places around the Tampa area that provide you the level of "bang for your buck", quality, value, and satisfaction. Crab cakes barely had any crab, so much for lump crab. And the amount of fillers in all of the dishes turned this meal into a donation. I mean the owners were very nice but when you're hungry and spending over $100 you expect to have your taste buds to have an explosion with flavor. As much as it pains me to put this review for a fellow Baltimorean I have to be honest with the review. And even though the food truck had to cook our entire order twice because they gave the first round away to another customer by mistake - the food just wasn't what you'd really get in Baltimore. I can provide some areas in Baltimore to eat as well if anyone is interested.

This place has a rockin' crab cake sandwich. I went to the food truck Thursday in Channelside and the line for Charm City Eats was the longest (that's when you know it's good) so flavorful but which it had just a tad more sauce - The Sauce Boss

Egg rolls and truffle Mac was way overpriced
Vee J.

Found the food truck at a Tampa local event, Uncorked. I ordered the truffle mac and cheese and the egg rolls. Spent $40 for these two items so clearly expecting a great meal. Very disappointed. The Mac and cheese had some sort of crab shell throughout the dish and was not even edible due to this. Egg rolls were okay, but not $40 worth of okay. Over priced food truck.

Caught Charm City Eats up @ Dade City Brew House. Had the Bay Balls which are Three fried crab fritters served Old Bay seasoned fries. The Crab fritters we're about the size of a small baseball and we're very tasty. The Old Bay seasoned fries were also good.

Rofo Box! Maryland fried chicken breaded and made to order!

It sits there in a strip mall in Lutz-right next to an Aldi. But once you get inside, you feel like…read moreyou're a world away, in a sea shanty in New England. So many nautical nods in the decor-rustic coastal-in sort of an 80s/90s way (love). You can almost taste salt in the air-you expect the Gorton's fisherman to walk in. Yes, I could settle in here for a while. And I did. There are chalkboard drink choices on the walls-and a large menu. Happy hour and daily specials add to the options. I asked my friendly and helpful server to help me choose. She was spot on. The onion rings basket was a thing of true beauty. That batter is incredible-so light, so melts-in-mouth good. I'd go back for them alone. (and to try the hush puppies and fried green tomatoes) But then came the main event: a gorgeous piece of fried haddock that hung wayyyy off the bun on both sides-and loads of tasty fries. I swapped out coleslaw for green beans. What a feast! This is a lot of food! And every bit of it was really tasty. The haddock was huge-and so well cooked. It was tender-flaky-with another light batter, that complimented the fish perfectly. I ditched the bun and ate it with a knife and fork. It was just yummy. The fries had a good crunch to them and the bowl of green beans was deep. This is a massive value for money! Oh! And the margarita was good, too! A little tangy-I like that! (There's a full bar area, if you care to belly up) My sweet server was easy to talk to and super efficient. She knows the menu inside and out-and reads her customers well and early. The restaurant was cozy and comfy-it's a casual spot, but well tended and very clean. You really do forget that the busy world is right outside the door. There's tons of parking, but beware on super rainy days-there are low spots in that lot. The water came up fast while I was there and another server warned us to check our vehicles and move them, if needed. I decided to make a dash for it-so didn't get all the pics I wanted-but that's just another reason (along with the scrod and the mahi taco, etc etc) to go back. The Great Catch is a great choice. You can trust the Gorton's fisherman!

They had so many baked goods that I had to just keep walking because I would've spent some moneyyyy in there. They were very welcoming upon my arrival. My pickup order was at the register towards the back. I had the shrimp and crab leg with corn. Food was fresh and well prepared. Got the lemon pepper wings, hush puppies, clams, snow crab and sausage. The flavor of the crab boil is really good. Ask for it with extra thick sauce/seasoning. The hush puppies are seasoned so well and are super crispy. The lemon pepper wings were just ok. They have some kind of breading on them that makes them super crispy, but if you like naked wings, you might not be a fan. Also the seasoning didn't stick to the wings so they were kind of plain. The clams tasted super fresh, but the snow crab was a little lacking. They were kind of dry and definitely on the smaller side. The sausage tastes weird. Not sure if they were made of beef (I don't eat beef), but neither me nor my daughter liked it. The ambiance is fine. Just a few tables, nothing fancy. They play fire music though.
