Maybe kind of a control thing. Or just the fact that Americans don't drive very much. Oh wait. So what you have is the few poor people and then some normally rich students sharing Transit and it's kind of funny, especially when they get curious about, or scared of, each other. Luckily for them it's Charlottesville and not DC or Baltimore so they don't have to enter any truly poor areas. Charlottesville doesn't have any. Not like that anyway.

I had arrived late night at the CHO airport as a result of two flight push backs from ORD. I…read moreordered a cab from the owner, Mr. Mario, without realizing that my check-in date was actually set to tomorrow afternoon. This man is a blessing in disguise as Mr. Mario kindly and generously offered me his hospitality to crash at his home office (which is very clean and homely with a functioning bathroom and shower by the way) for the time being. Upon picking me up he had also noticed the other weary souls waiting for an evening cab and extended his assistance to them after dropping me off; he even got snacks and water for me upon returning and was cordial, upbeat and friendly throughout the entire ordeal. Compensation was treated as an after-thought as well which I can only respect and appreciate the modesty. I admit I don't really experience much of Charlottesville and her non-University denizens as an insulated out-of-state student, and so I can't thank Mr. Mario enough for having treated me so profoundly with his benevolent and thoughtful hospitality and assistance. Out of all of my dealings with businesses I'd have to say that this is definitely my most meaningful one. A resolute recommendation from me.

Told him where I was and he told me 30 minutes to pick me up. I had a tight schedule to get to the airport. He wanted me to Venmo the $375 I did Then he actually put in the address He told me it'd be an hour and a half. Which would make me late for my flight. He had me Venmo money all in advance. I told him I needed my refund since he couldn't make it. It as he was so far away. only me back through Venmo $291.03. And he a full even though there's no way he could've to the airport on time. He kept almost $85 as his inconvenience fee. Use caution perhaps you have a better result. I withdraw my complaint as it was a miscommunication and Mario taxi service has given me the refund.

I traveled from Charlottesville to DC and this was the same bus that stopped to pick up riders outside of the Amtrak station. The bus was nice, comfortable, and clean. It doesn't deserve 5 stars, but it definitely needed an updated review for anyone who was hesitant to travel due to the previous reviews. I would absolutely travel with the Greyhound again.

I was calling all the local florist in the area and none would deliver the day of. Also some of the so called big names wanted to charge me an arm and a leg plus they could not guarantee an on time delivery time. Last minute I thought to google couriers to see if I would have any luck. Gerald answered on the other line very bubbly and bright mind you it was before 8 am on a Saturday. Not only did he agree to assist me, he recommended a great florist, he also gave me ideas on how to package it the exact way I wanted to do it. Then he communicated to me several times make sure I was able to get everything squared away. As we only had a small window of about 2 hours get everything done before the florist closed. Then he went and picked up everything from the florist and another store. He sent photos of everything in his office and sat and baby sat the package, for a few hours, as the place to be delivered wouldn't open until 2 pm. He delivered the package before the family arrived and viola he made me look like the good friend that I am without a hitch. His prices were way more reasonable than the big wigs so of course I left a tip. His customer service and courtesy was amazing. His knowledge of the area and recommendations were spot on. He was trusting and eased all of my worries by answering all of my questions and more. As another small business owner to another I really appreciate you for being there in my time of need. There's traffic! So much bumper to bumper traffic! However now I can save my wear and tear on my car. Its about an hour ride. Which is fine by me. There's a lot stores and shopping centers nearby besides Tysons Mall. The station is well lit and has pedestrian bridge. Now I can visit my VA friends more ! Only downside is riding metro ain't cheap. Can you believe rush hour ends at 9pm?!!! However its cheap to ride the metro on the weekend.

Feedback on Castaway Caboose trip we just returned from on October 1, 2026:…read more It was an unique experience! The hot water in the shower was a plus, and the caboose was left at a beautiful location. There were a few things that could have been done better. **The family (on the other caboose traveling 9/27-10/1) should get a partial refund. They went out 9/27-10/1/26 Mice ate their food even after they put it in the oven. The food was put in the refrigerator but it was small and it would not all fit in there A mouse also jumped in the mom's hair. When we returned the staff/cleaners said they'd had an ongoing problem with mice all summer. Shouldn't guests have been told? Also, there were mouse droppings on the towels and kitchen scrubber initially, so I think this had been going on a long time. Plus, they should have been given mouse resistant storage containers. The back door by shower hard to unlock. We had to use a 2x6 one time to unlock it. Trim trees so solar lights on the back platform work longer. Suggest to online guests that they should bring more lighting (ex: headlamp flashlight, lantern) due to low lighting inside as the only lighting was a limited amount due to solar. Is it possible to supply a lantern with batteries. Use Lithium batteries on caboose? Put a hook by Blackstone grill to hang cooking utensils outside. Kitchen sink wouldn't drain. We found the hose outside positioned upward on the hill, so we reversed it. It's possible the last guests moved the hose. Maybe staff could have a checklist to double check this when they leave guests. Get different folding chairs. As much as we're paying, they should be functionable. Kitchen sink drain plug broken when we arrived. Clean magazine rack, windows, were moldy. **The biggest thing is they should have had an emergency contact device. This is of upmost importance, and I'm suprised it's legal not to have one. Even if it's just to send help if someone has a medical emergency. The train staff said they had a "reacher" so why don't the guests have one?? The train staff said we would have to walk 2 miles to a swinging bridge to contact someone. This would not be possible if someone had a heart attack. Thanks so much!
