My partner and I came for dinner last night (a Tuesday). We arrived around 5:45 pm and were…read morepromptly seated. The restaurant was not very busy, but there was a pleasant vibe. The inside reminds me of a Chili's or Ruby Tuesday, but a bit darker. I think it's a nice atmosphere, appropriate for date night, a group, a family, etc. Our server (who has worked here for 3 years) was friendly and efficient. To start, we ordered a bowl of yesterday's soup special (She crab) and a small order of boiled shrimp. The soup was excellent, creamy, and with small pieces of crab throughout. The shrimp (six in the small order) were prepared well and came with a tangy cocktail sauce. The server brought over a loaf of their complimentary bread, which is actually three breads together in a single loaf. The bread was good (I preferred the dark loaf part) and came with a peach butter. We were told that the butters change periodically. The butter had pieces of peach in it (!) and we enjoyed the novelty. Our server mentioned that they also have a pistachio butter and maple butter. Yum. I ordered a salad with the balsamic vinaigrette dressing on the side. The salad itself was good - fresh, with crisp lettuce, tomato, cucumber, apple, almond pieces, etc. Then there was the dressing. Although I mixed the salad dressing in the cup before tasting it, when I did taste it, it was almost all oil with no discernible vinegar or other flavor. I kept stirring and tasting and nothing. So I abandoned the dressing. For entrees, my partner ordered the charbroiled salmon in herb butter with a side of broccoli. The salmon was prepared well and very tasty. I ordered the mahi-mahi, with the sun-dried tomato butter sauce on the side. The mahi-mahi was well prepared and tasty on its own. Honestly, I tasted the sun-dried tomato butter sauce and it was essentially whipped butter. I didn't think it added anything to the entree so I didn't use it. The potato came with butter and sour cream on the side. The potato was very good. Although we were full and not planning on dessert, the server came over with small cups of peppermint ice cream, calling it a "palate cleanser." It was very good and a nice touch. Other than the salad dressing and the sauce for the fish, it was an excellent meal in a nice atmosphere with good service. When we were leaving at around 7:00 pm, the line was out the door.

Grt them if you like ribs. My only regret and it was my own taste buds the bbq sauce needed some heat. My wife had chicken with artichoke hearts and sauce. She said it was tasty and the sauce sublime. Overall, a must dine at historic restaurant in Staunton.

My family wanted me to call the order in because they thought it may take an hour to get ready.... Nope! They stated that it would be about 20 minutes but it was done in 15. I ordered from the restaurant on April 8th and had an estimated delivery time for 6:51pm when my order still hadn't been delivered I called the restaurant at 7:42pm and was ensured my order was on the way and would be delivered in the next few minutes so I waited...until 8:22pm and at the point I called the app that I had ordered the food on (had I not been very sick I would have went to the restaurant myself to see what was going on) beyond menu was beyond helpful and called the restaurant and it was then that it was discovered that the internet had went down so they had lost my order...the same order that I was promised was on the way. The restaurant then called me back at 8:40 and asked me if I still wanted my food after telling them yes they told me they would prepare it immediately and it would be delivered within 15-20 minutes and it was, however it was delivered incorrect and incomplete. I had ordered two spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs on the side and a side salad with each for my two children who were long in bed by this point, I was delivered one spaghetti with the sauce on it and the meatballs on the side. This is when I called the restaurant back at 9:01 I was offered 15% off and told they would remake my food and send it back. Again this time it did come within the timeframe they promised but again it was only one order even though my first order wasn't made correctly. At that point I had waiting 3 hours and paid $37 for food that was incorrect and incomplete my whole experience was very disappointing and has personally put me off of the restaurant, I typically had ordered from here at least once a month but don't know if I will be ordering again because of the way my situation was handled. I do understand things happen in the restaurant industry however I feel like this went above and beyond what should be acceptable.

From the moment we walked in, everything felt effortlessly elevated. The food was nothing short of spectacular- beautifully presented and bursting with flavor in a way that made each dish feel intentional and memorable. The space itself is a standout - timeless yet fresh, with a clean, thoughtfully designed atmosphere and a variety of seating options that let you tailor the experience to your mood. This is the kind of place that lingers with you after you leave. It's already at the top of our list for our next visit to the area - August can't come soon enough.

The base had an odd flavor and the veggies were crunchy. We had read other reviews for this place and so we were looking forward to a good meal. Highly disappointed.

Even though I was told they were busy, the delivery time was totally reasonable and I have no complaints. I ordered the chicken parm with pasta and a house salad. Food was well prepared, tasty, and portions were quite generous all around. Pasta was well cooked, sauce was good and well seasoned, and the chicken cutlets well prepared. I think my only real quibble would be the amount of cheese blanketing the chicken, but I might also be that rare bird that doesn't like a lot of cheese? Salad was good, but I think it would be improved by using mixed greens instead of iceberg and fresh olives instead of canned. That said, my meal was a welcome treat after a long day of driving and I will happily order from NBP again soon. I look forward to picking my way around their menu in the future and will definitely be trying some pies!

We stopped in Thursday February 5, 2026. The cozy space, complete with a locally painted on the wall, gives it a warm, welcoming feel. In speaking with the matrade we learned the name of the restaurant comes from the Native American word that has become Shenandoah. After 20 years in business it's clear this place has deep local roots. The staff was friendly and attentive. Kyle, our waiter, did a great job and worked seamlessly with his teammates to make the experience memorable. We started with cocktails -- my wife had the Sage Advice and I had a classic Manhattan. Proper cocktails for sure! The crème brûléed cornbread and sweet potato bisque were standout starters. Probably could have stopped eating after those starters...For mains, my wife loved the pork loin and I enjoyed the pan-seared trout. We finished with the banana mousse, which was absolutely amazing!
