They will not acknowledge you, not smile, and not ask you if you need assistance. In fact they will even look at you with disgust for being in there space. Now the alleyway that the store has been using for an event entrance all weekend looks like an insane disgusting mess. There happened to be a small anime expo going on, so there were cosplayers everywhere and the energy was great. Lots of Japanese food options around. I grabbed ramen at one of the shops, and there is plenty of variety if you want to eat your way through the plaza. It is a great spot to kill an afternoon, whether you are into anime, Japanese groceries, or just good food. Definitely worth a stop if you are in Little Tokyo.

The plaza is mostly clean and safe to walk around. We spent about an hour here. We bough some stuff from Nijiya market, got kimono from Shinyodo gift shop and got ice cream from Little Tokyo Ice cream and yogurt. All staff members in each store were nice.
