Smorgasbord rules. Dried up roast, limp salads, overboiled veges, cold pizza and molten ice cream, but all with bottomless drinks.

The owner George is such a lovely family man with always a smile on he's face and keeping customers happy! I've been there a few times and never disappointed with still ordering the same tasty meal 'Pollo Dello Chef' a gluten free meal of chargrilled chicken breast, topped with avocado, bacon and finished with a creamy sweet chili sauce. This meal is a large and super filling plate licking dish, with also getting my Mother to order is as well. Always visit back with the family for a special occasion, Mother's Day dinner here we come!

So this is how we came upon Cafe Prego ;) I must say, this place exceeded our expectations from the beginning. We came here expecting a middle-of-the-road pizza and pasta place in the same vein as many other. But when we looked at the menu, we could see that there were some other influences at work here - falafel platters and moussaka on an Italian menu? Interesting! The garlic bread we shared was amazing - not good if you don't like your garlic bread dripping with butter ... but I thought it was delicious! More like a garlic pizza than garlic bread - yum! I ordered the 'George's' pizza - salami, olives, marinated tomatoes, anchovies, bocconcini and fresh basil - it was amazing! Meals came out very quickly (we were still finishing off our garlic bread), the base was cooked perfectly - not too crusty - and the toppings were generous and fresh. My partner had the moussaka, which she was was delicious and very 'homemade' tasting (I had a bite, and had a bit of food envy :P). The staff were very efficient and friendly, and we felt very comfortable here. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised with Cafe Prego, and would definitely come here again ;)

Lido Ristorante - The view is the only positive I had of my dining experience.

Got a shock when I walked in and found it was under new management. And that staff were a from a…read morecontinent different to the style of food. None of our party of six finished their meals. The curry tasted watered down, the duck was dry and I'm sure was cooked the previous day only to be reheated and fried to crisp the skin. Marinara pasta was too salty and used imported sea food. Most mains are in the $30 range and wouldn't pass even if we're half price. Avoid.

Ok. This is a bit of a joke now. Twice in a 3 months, my house mate and i went down to Glenelg to…read moretry out restaurants we found on entertainment book. Both times the restaurants we picked were closed. So we ended up eating at another restaurant. So today we chose Lido. When we got there, there's only one couple dinning in there. We were served water as soon as we had taken a seat. Pretty good. Proceeded to order two mains - Pork belly and lamb chop. The place is not packed but I think we waited 30 mins for the food. Well, at least whrn the food came, it's not bad. The lamb is medium cooked. The meat is tender and juicy, mixed with red wine sauce and it's really a delight. However I do not like the rice and the vegetables that came with it. The rice is slightly dry, probably long grain. And the vegetable is just 5 pieces of grilled pineapples which I don't like. there's also a tiny problem of the serving size.... no... big problem... it's not exactly filling enough. :( The Pork belly has a smoky taste to it, while the skin is a crispy, it's a bit hard too. The meat is soft and chewy, really nice. Overall, I like the service given. We were being checked upon twice by the waiting stuff for the quality of the food served. The food is fine too. A pity, the waiting time is slightly long, and the serving size is small. Now the last part. After dinner. .. the first downpour for the week! Rain rain rain. It looks like it's only going to get heavier .. Soaking wet and couldn't run after a meal... it does made me wonder. . Is it worth the effort to eat out there tonight? -_-'

We met there for lunch and we were greeted by two staff from behind the counter. They were very warm, smiley and welcoming. The lady handed us menus and offered us to take a seat - inside or outside. (Most of the tables were for about 2-4 people, so I wouldn't recommend large groups coming here.) We ordered at the counter and they brang our lunch to our tables once it was freshly made. I chose a smoked salmon foccacia with capers, lettuce, spanish onions and fresh dill mayo - sounds good hey!? It was! My only criticism is that there was a bit too much bread, but I find this the case with most foccacias any where. Pasta Gourmet's menu includes pasta (shock!!!), pizza, curry, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, chicken schnitzel, a large breakfast menu, cakes, and of course tea, coffee and cold drinks. Oh, and one last thing, everything is under $15!!!

The pies were full of meat and gravy, and had a really nice flavour and texture. The base was nice and firm, and the tops were all flakey. Perfect with a big dab of tomato sauce. The coffee was great too, nice temp (though it had been sitting in a car for ten minutes), and a great flavour to the beans.
