I was recommended here by a friend after I got my car serviced at the dealership and they found a lot of problems which would cost a few organs to pay off. They take walk-in's from what my friend told me, but advised to make an appointment for security. Phone lines were fairly busy, but I didn't give up! After a few tries, I finally got through to make an appointment. On the day of my appointment, checking in was easy and Charlie was able to see me right away. I explained what the dealership called out and he did a full analysis of my car. He found things the dealer didn't call out which should have been called out and even gave me a walk around my car explaining every detail. I've never experienced that before at any mechanic I've been to and greatly appreciative of it. Charlie was able to repair what was problematic and my car hasn't had any problems since! Price of service was fair and the service invoice was highly detailed--Charlie went over every single detail during our look at the car in the garage. I hate mechanics. They all give you a different diagnosis for the same issue. 90% of them don't even know what you're talking about and the other 10% are just trying to see how much you understand so that they can take advantage of you. Charlie is the 10%. He's a wolf in sheep's clothing. strike 1: charlie doesn't have a flat rate for labor. So expect $500-$600 charge for labor alone. That's a scam within itself. He gave me a $1400 estimate to replace a wheel hub & axle shaft. Unnecessary. I Strike 2: cost of parts. Car parts don't cost that much unless you're changing the engine or something. But the parts that Charlie uses.... I assume they're made of the rarest precious metal ever discovered in the universe and you have to travel light years to another galaxy to get it.... and he only uses that. Rip off. read more

Great service great people! I went in for my minivan to be inspected for brake n light adjustment certifcation. They are one of the two places I looked up in this area n the other place seems to have some negative reviews about the personnel so I chose this. Also, it was walking distance. They inspected my car n were sincere enough to tell me I would fail if my rear tail light lense was cracked. I went n bought a new lense n they quickly approved my cert. thereafter. I hope to use their services again when I need to. I usually do my own auto mechanic, but I can trust Charlie (and Nancy) foe thier services. Charlie is a crook he changes original parts and put aftermarket parts on your cars without your notification or knowledge He price gougers, he'll tell you to come pick up your car and then tell you you need this done and you need that done, why did you tell me to come pick up my car you could told me this on the phone, he's just a crook I've dealt with him for a year and a half over a transmission mount and then when he put the transmission mount on it was a old and collapse one watch out when you go to him ask for the parts back and stand some where you can see him working on your car and now I go and get a smog and they tell me my catalytic converters have been changed with aftermarket parts and put them in the wrong place: the ones they put on go in the front and they put them in the rear. He is a crook and the legal system will take care of you!!! read more

He is honest, friendly and doesn't try to overcharge you for things you don't need. I'm so glad I can finally say I have a neighborhood family mechanic. I'm on a roll writing reviews about all my car places and I thought of Charlie. I can't believe he only has three reviews on Yelp! I found Charlie through a friend's recommendation in 2007 and have since recommended probably 4 dozen different people go to him for anything they need. He is a genuine guy, incredibly hard working [usually there until 7pm] and will go into every detail for you to understand and feel comfortable and safe in his assessment. My whole family loves Charlie, and I trust him with anything our car needs. He has worked on our cars for 7 years now and has always been fast, available the morning we need him and ready before we expect it to be done. He recently checked over a car for us before a long trip. I told him I expected we needed new brakes and new wheels. He said no, not for another 6 months at least. This is what you can expect from Charlie. If he says you need it, you do. If you don't he would tell you exactly how long to give it before he checks it again. We bought a new car at the end of 2013 because the car we had would fail to start if not driven each day due to a power drain somewhere hidden in the car. Charlie kept that car for 3 days, working on it each day trying to find where the power drain was coming from. No one could figure it out, and at the end of the 3 days he gave us back the vehicle, with no charge, and gave my husband and I a list of how to use the vehicle to keep it running until getting a new car. I may not be his actually family, but my husband and I feel like he is part of ours. I would trust anything he said to me. He is a truly wonderful guy. read more

Great customer service and Charlie is an honest man. I have my car "diagnosed" at the dealership and charged me $260 just for the diagnosis. I came here to Charlie and he told me that they had given me the wrong diagnosis. On top of that, he told me he would diagnose and repair my car for $100 less than what I had paid originally at the dealership. I recommend calling to make an appointment because this place is always super packed but the reading room is extremely spacious and clean and has a lot of amenities such as a Kürig coffee maker,, ping-pong table, huge TV comfy couches and a snack and soda machine. Waiting for your car repair should not be as agonizing. I really appreciate the honesty and welcoming staff. You can really see with your own eyes that they work hard... plus, honesty is truly the best policy, and I definitely felt Charlie's sincerity in his recommendations when I asked him what I should do about my car and the money I spent at the dealership. My FAVORITE mechanic ever! I call him the "car whisperer" I took my car in for an oil change. ( I got tired of the dealership suggesting services I didn't really need) During the oil change at Charlie's he heard a small whistling sound. Diagnosed a water pump that needed to be changed. He also told me I had a small oil leak in the engine. The beautiful part is he recommended I take the car to the dealership because it might still be under warranty. I did just that. And low and behold he was right! The dealership fixed both issues under warranty. No cost to me. He could have easily taken the money from me. As a single woman, he's such a gift to have. Charlie is the BEST!!! He's worked miracles on my car. I had a number of issues and had taken the car to various mechanics who would "diagnose" the problem and charge a ton of money to fix the supposed problem.
